Investors are pulling money from US equities and flocking into cash funds, Bank of America Corp.'s Michael Hartnett said, amid renewed concerns that sweeping tariffs are crimping economic growth.
Nearly $28 billion was redeemed from US stocks in the week through Aug. 6, while money market funds attracted about $107 billion, the biggest inflows since January, according to a note from the bank citing EPFR Global data.

Hut 8's (HUT) Q2 2025 10-Q revealed that its majority-owned subsidiary American Bitcoin (ABTC) had purchased 1,726 BTC for $205.6 million between July 1 and August 6. This is an average price of $119,120 per BTC. A HUT 8-K filed on June 30 indicated that American Bitcoin had raised about $215 million in net proceeds from a private placement involving 11,002,954 shares of ABTC class A common stock. $10 million of this raise was paid in BTC. The proceeds were earmarked for BTC accumulation goals. Given the news from the most recent 10-Q, it's clear that American Bitcoin has already deployed the remaining cash proceeds to expand its Bitcoin treasury. Enjoying the read? Amazon rolls out same-day delivery of perishable groceries in 1,000 US cities

Amazon is now letting shoppers in 1,000 cities across the U.S. order perishable food items through its Same-Day Delivery service, as the e-commerce giant seeks to compete more directly with Instacart and Walmart+ in the growing quick-commerce space. Amazon plans to expand the option to over 2,300 cities by the end of the year. Users can now order fresh grocery items, including produce, dairy, meat, seafood, baked goods and more, alongside everyday household products, electronics, and other items available for Same-Day Delivery. Amazon says its 'specialized temperature-controlled fulfillment network' will ensure that shoppers receive perishable groceries intact, and that orders undergo a six-point quality check upon arrival and before leaving for delivery. Additionally, temperature-sensitive products are delivered in insulated bags. Same-day delivery is free for orders worth more than $25 for Prime members. If an order doesn't meet the minimum amount, subscribers can still choose same-day delivery for a $2.99 fee. For customers without a Prime membership, the service is available with a $12.99 fee, regardless of the order size. 'When Amazon began to add perishable groceries like bananas, milk, eggs, and bread to its Same-Day Delivery service in regions like Phoenix, Orlando, and Kansas City, customers embraced the convenience,' Amazon wrote in a press release. 'Strawberries, Honeycrisp apples, limes, and avocados now rank among the top 10 items in Same-Day Delivery carts.' The move comes as Amazon has struggled to attract foot traffic at its physical stores.

Forget Palantir. Bank of America believes it found the next hot national defense tech play

Bank of America says the defense contractor V2X is benefiting from a "scale and scope strategy coming to fruition." BofA upgraded the 11-year-old, Reston, Virginia based manufacturer to buy from neutral on Wednesday, raising its price target to $65 per share from $55. The bank's forecast implies more than 19% upside from Tuesday's $54.56 close. V2X jumped 7% in early trading Wednesday, brining its year-to-date gain to 22%. Analyst Mariana Perez Mora pointed to V2X recently winning a contract tied to the T-6 aircraft "as a key enabler of growth." "[W]e would expect to start to see full revenue contribution from the contract beginning in 2027. The predecessor contract (V2X won the current iteration as a takeaway) obligated ~$200-$300mn in funding annually," the analyst said. "We think this is a reasonable assumption on a go-forward basis for contribution to V2X as the contract fully ramps." VVX YTD mountain V2X stock in 2025. Bank of America also highlighted V2X's advantage over competitors, owing to its "strategy to provide full-lifecycle support to increasingly complex military operations." "In addition to the scale and scope strategy at logistics and maintenance work, we appreciate that V2X is also winning awards to 'move up the food chain' and take part in higher-growth, higher-margin work," the BofA analyst said. "We think this combination will result in accelerating and sustainable growth in the years to come and, thus, re-rating." In other words, the stock is likely to sell for a higher price-to-earnings ratio.
