Internet users have been left in hysterics by a man who thought he was capturing an ordinary video of his wife, only to discover she was in the middle of a medical emergency.
Silver Owens, 30, was at the ER on July 9 for a medical appointment, which involved drawing blood. As her husband, Matt Owens, 29, was picking her up after, she decided to go wait outside the building for his arrival.
Unfortunately, Silver, an independent filmmaker from Houston, Texas, told Newsweek that she started to feel unwell and knew she "was about to faint." She quickly sat down on the ground and then instantly passed out.
"I hadn't eaten much that day, and I have this thing called vasovagal syncope where I faint when there are certain triggers (they think this is what it is anyway)," Silver said. "I think the combination of not eating, having blood drawn, and then walking out of the hospital made me faint."

As Matt pulled into the car park, he thought it was hilarious that his wife seemed to be "so dialed into" her phone that she didn't even notice him. As a result, he started filming his wife on the floor, with her legs outstretched, looking very uncomfortable.
When Matt got closer, he realized his wife wasn't actually on her phone, and reality hit that she had in fact passed out. Matt ended the video as soon as he realized and got out the car to help.
"My husband thought I was looking down at my phone, and I didn't notice him pulling up to get me. He felt so bad when he showed me the video initially. When I laughed so hard, he felt better," Silver continued.
She said: "He tried to wake me up, and I remember opening my eyes and seeing him telling me I had fainted. Then I was out again. He ran into the ER and asked for help. I woke up surrounded by nurses laying on a stretcher."
Silver was given some apple juice and crackers until she was stable enough to get up and go home.
Before passing out, Silver said she recalls checking Find My Friends and seeing that her husband was two minutes away. She added that is about as long as she was unconscious for.
After seeing the video her husband captured, Silver said that she "cried from laughing so hard" because she actually looks dead. She couldn't resist sharing it on TikTok (@silverowens) and it has gone viral with over 3.6 million views and more than 370,000 likes on TikTok at the time of writing.
Alongside the post, the caption reads: "I would like everyone to know he felt awful for taking this, but IM CACKLING, he just thought it was so funny that I didn't notice him pull up."
Silver has been blown away by the online response, as she certainly wasn't expecting the video to attract so much attention. Thankfully, it seems that most social-media users "have a great sense of humor," and many even shared their own similar experiences as a result.
Silver said: "Everyone has been mostly positive, and we just find it funny that so many people have responded to it. I think it's important to have a good sense of humor about these things if you can. Life is crazy, and we can only control so much, and finding ways to laugh at the chaos of it all makes it more fun."
In the days since the clip went viral, it has generated nearly 1,000 comments on TikTok so far.
One comment reads: "girl I fainted on public transport recently and everyone just stared at me."
Another TikTok user wrote: "I watched this a million times and chuckled each time."
A third person posted: "The music, the slow turn, your head down—a true cinematic masterpiece."

Michelle Obama on Opening Up About Life With Barack—'It Can Feel Dangerous'

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. In a new interview, former first lady Michelle Obama spoke out about the "messy" and "complicated" aspects of life with her husband, former President Barack Obama, noting that sharing those details with the public "can feel dangerous." Newsweek reached out to Michelle Obama's representative via email on Wednesday for comment. Why It Matters The Obamas married on October 3, 1992, and share two daughters: Malia, 27, and Sasha, 24. Earlier this year, the couple faced divorce rumors, leading Michelle to address the speculation on several occasions. The rumors first began when she didn't attend former President Jimmy Carter's state funeral or President Donald Trump's inauguration in January. Most recently, Barack appeared on the podcast his wife co-hosts alongside her brother, Craig Robinson, and they poked fun at the rumor mill. When the couple greeted each other with a kiss, Robinson joked, "Wait, you guys like each other?" "She took me back!" Barack teased, to which Michelle said, "Now don't start." "It was touch and go for a while," he playfully added. Kevin Dietsch-Pool/Getty Images What To Know In an interview with Parents magazine published on Tuesday, the former first lady spoke out about revealing personal aspects of her life on IMO with Michelle Obama and Craig Robinson. "It's so easy for us to curl up into this protective instinct and not talk about the messy or more complicated bits of our lives," Obama said. "It can feel dangerous to expose those imperfect parts of ourselves. But over the years, I have learned that it's really the opposite." She said that when it came to parenting their daughters during his presidency, "Barack and I did everything we could to give our girls as normal of a life as possible." "When we were at the White House, we made sure they were doing things like making their beds every morning and as they got older, getting summer jobs. Once we left the White House, their lives slowly began to inch a little closer toward normalcy," the Becoming author said. "But the truth is, their circumstances have been extraordinary in so many ways—and that forced them to learn critical skills like discipline, flexibility, and determination to go after what they really wanted. And now here we are." Malia and Sasha are still "under more scrutiny than others their age," she said. Still, "they've learned to roll with the punches." "I'm always so impressed by how they handle it—with grace, resolve, and charm. These days, more than anything, I can't wait to see how they surprise us next." What People Are Saying On a recent episode of IMO, Michelle Obama spoke out about a parenting hack she and her husband currently use as empty nesters: "Barack and I, we are all about creating what we call 'the attractive nuisance.' We want to, you know, make it so that you want to be back here. There's that period when they leave in their early 20s, and they're just like, 'Bye! We're living our lives, and we're so happy to be sleeping on a dirty mattress and in college.' They're just now getting to the point where they hang around just a little, a couple of days longer, because the tub is clean and there are bath salts." What Happens Next IMO with Michelle Obama and Craig Robinson airs new episodes on Wednesdays on platforms like Spotify, YouTube and Apple Podcasts.

The mixie is the edgy haircut that's everywhere right now – here are 8 mullet-meets-pixie hybrid styles to try

Meet the rebellious love child of the pixie and the mullet: The mixie. (Who knew hairstyles could procreate?!) Equal parts edgy and effortlessly cool, this hybrid haircut is cropping up on red carpets, catwalks, and TikTok feeds everywhere. But what exactly is a mixie haircut? And more importantly, could it be your next big hair move? Below, we've decoded everything you need to know: from what makes a mixie tick, to the best face shapes and hair types for pulling it off, and how to style it for max impact – all with expert insights from Mark Hayes, Senior International Creative Director at HOUSE OF SASSOON. Oh, and we've curated a gallery of mixie inspo pics that'll have you screenshotting faster than you can say "shaggy fringe." Ready to flirt with a little chaos? "A mixie is a modern hybrid of a pixie and a mullet – short and choppy in the front with longer, softer layers at the back," says Mark. While not essential, modern interpretations of both the mullet and pixie often include a fringe, sometimes styled as baby bangs or a straight-across fringe. This is also an option when it comes to the mixie. "It's edgy but wearable, offering a bold silhouette with versatile styling options. The mixie blends retro charm with contemporary texture," Mark adds. When it comes to suitability, Mark explains, "The mixie suits a range of face shapes. Its structure can be tailored to enhance cheekbones or soften jawlines." Good news (and snatched bone structures) for all! Continuing, he says, "It works well on straight to wavy hair, and the layers add volume and movement, making it a great option for fine to medium hair textures. For curly hair, the shape can be customised to enhance natural texture." According to Mark, styling the mixie is refreshingly simple – and we couldn't be more relieved. I mean, more time in bed? Hell yes. "Styling a mixie is all about enhancing its natural texture," he says. "Use a lightweight mousse or texturising spray to boost volume and define layers. Tousling with fingers or a diffuser helps maintain an effortless, lived-in finish. You can also smooth it with a round brush for a more polished look or add wax or pomade for definition." As for upkeep, Mark notes that on a day-to-day basis, "The mixie is relatively low-maintenance," however, he adds, "it will benefit from regular trims every 6–8 weeks to keep its shape sharp." Pros and cons, hey. As mentioned, styling is quick and versatile, often requiring just a few minutes with the right product. Its intentionally undone finish means it grows out well, offering flexibility between salon visits! All in all, the mixie isn't for the faint-hearted (read: she's a head-turner!).
