In September, Oasis confirmed their reunion gigs were set to take place across the U.K. 'This is it, this is happening,' they had said, as fans prepared to spend hundreds — maybe even thousands — of pounds on tickets. Then, North America dates were released. The duo announced they were playing Toronto, Chicago, L.A., New Jersey and Mexico City across August and September.
Earlier this month, the year-long wait ended: the brothers kicked off the year's buzziest tour in Cardiff, playing together for the first time in over 16 years for a vast crowd in Wales.
On Friday, it was London's turn. The famed Wembley venue was practically vibrating with excitement ahead of their arrival on stage, and The Hollywood Reporter was witness to all of it: the decade-old hits, the cheeky one-liners and all the bucket hats in England ferociously bobbing up and down.
Below, we take you through some of the biggest takeaways from Oasis' reunion tour, as the edgy Manchester-born duo return to epic form, and the dizzy heights of Britpop notoriety, in style.
1. It's a Crowd-Pleaser
Let's state the obvious first. This was always going to be a 'best of' tour, filled with all of the music that fans have been dreaming of hearing live again for a decade-and-a-half now. The brothers performed their biggest hits and then some: 'Don't Look Back in Anger,' 'Slide Away' and, of course, 'Wonderwall,' which was aptly introduced by Liam: 'It's that song again…' They closed with 'Champagne Supernova,' the entire 90,000+ crowd still hanging on to every lyric after two straight hours of passionate dancing. The '90s visuals up on screen were every bit as nostalgic as you'd hope: clips of the two, in their heyday, messing around at the height of their fame.
None of this came as a surprise, but the emotion palpable in that arena was nothing short of overwhelming. The atmosphere was contagious, and on some occasions the ground shook from the weight of a sea of standing fans bouncing up and down (especially during 1995's 'Roll With It'). What was even more evident, however, was how meaningful this concert was to those in attendance. Couples kissed, strangers hugged and fist-bumped, men screamed like they were at a soccer match. Some were even crying. This was a homecoming for thousands of people… even if a lot of alcohol was consumed.
2. They're Still the Same Boys From Manchester
One thing about Oasis? They're patriotic when it comes to their native Manchester. Northern accents as strong as ever, the long-time Manchester City Football Club fans were joined by a cardboard cut-out of team manager Pep Guardiola on stage. 'The greatest manager of all time!' Noel said before dedicating the next song to fellow Man City supporters, to which he received a chorus of boos (there's likely to be far more fans of rival teams in the crowd at this venue).
A montage of family photos, snaps of where they grew up, baby photos and more loomed over Wembley behind Liam and Noel as they played 'Fade Away' and 'Stand by Me.' Manchester tower blocks and rows of houses featured, as well as buzzing bumble bees — the city's symbol — crawling over the visuals. There was no shying away from the origin story of Oasis, no matter how tumultuous their childhood was. Only celebration here.
3. Noel Gets His Time to Shine
This isn't to say Liam (and his maracas) didn't get to be his outrageous self. 'Every time I open my mouth these days I seem to get myself in fucking trouble,' he said early on in the set. 'So I'm just gonna sing.' There were, of course, moments where Liam did do exactly what he does best: poking and prodding the audience. 'Sort it out,' the younger brother told some tussling crowd-members. 'Fighting at this fucking time of the day? At least wait until it gets dark.' Later, as Wembley settled into the evening, he told the fans: 'You're looking better as the night goes on. Turn those fucking lights off!'
But Noel, in fact, was the only brother to perform every song — and got some epic guitar solos in, too. As Liam took a couple of breaks throughout the performance, Noel delighted fans with songs he'd taken the lead on over the years, including 'Little by Little' and 'Half the World Away.' Noel even dedicated 'Don't Look Back in Anger' to the staff at Chiltern Firehouse, the luxe celebrity hotspot in Marylebone that partially burned down in February. 'In London, there have been many tragedies,' he began. 'The plague, the great fire of London, the blitz. And this year a tragedy happened that was bigger than all of them combined, which was my favorite bar the Firehouse fucking burned down.'
4. Liam Pays Tribute to Ozzy
Ozzy Osbourne, the Black Sabbath frontman who died aged 78 on Tuesday, was on Liam's mind as 'Rock 'N' Roll Star' kicked off. Before playing the opening track on their debut album Definitely Maybe, the singer proudly declared: 'I want to dedicate this next song to Ozzy Osbourne,' prompting cheers across the stadium.
A picture of the heavy metal singer was projected behind them as they began to play. His death, just less than three weeks after Black Sabbath's last performance in Birmingham, shocked the world earlier this week. A myriad of stars, including Elton John, Judas Priest and fellow English band Duran Duran, payed tribute via social media.
5. The Feud is Quashed — For Now
The brothers were constantly exchanging jabs over the years, with Liam especially taking pleasure in calling Noel 'a potato' and slamming his musical talent. Noel, on the other hand, famously told The Guardian not long ago: 'I liked my mum until she gave birth to Liam.' So when the news broke that the pair had patched things up — at least, long enough to go on tour — a lot of people were surprised.
Yet, there was no trace of ill-feeling on stage Friday. Liam and Noel walked out hand-in-hand, after an opening montage played that poked fun at the years-spanning press coverage on Oasis. In the moments that Liam was being particularly cheeky — such as, when he told the crowd to sort out their 'sulky faces' — his older brother could be seen giggling in response. Concerns over Liam's vocals should also be overruled; Oasis are back to their best, and so obviously missed playing together.

'Peaky Blinders' Creator Reportedly Will Write Next James Bond Movie
Although the next James Bond movie will be directed by Denis Villeneuve, the actual script might be written by veteran British writer Steven Knight. And, if that name is familiar, it should be. Knight is not only the writer of movies like Dirty Pretty Things and Eastern Promises, but he's also the creator of the sensational crime drama, Peaky Blinders. Although not announced formally by Amazon MGM, Deadline has reported that "sources" are saying that "Steven Knight has been set to write the pic." If confirmed, this will almost certainly be good news for Bond fans. But, could Knight's resume give us a bigger hint as to what the movie is about? Steven Knight's movie and TV track record Until very recently, Knight was actually attached to write the next Star Wars film focused on Daisy Ridley's Rey, though, as someone who has been writing screenplays for several decades, the notion of changing projects is very common. But, in terms of Knight's biggest work, Peaky Blinders is probably the best indication of where he could take a James Bond film. At once violent, dramatic, and with a touch of elegance, Peaky Blinders arguably made Cillian Murphy into an even bigger star than he already was. And, the show also proved that British action-adventure and crime dramas don't always have to be set in the present. But, wait. What could that mean for Bond?Could the new James Bond be a period piece? Because of Knight's work on Peaky Blinders (and his work on the 2019 Christmas Carol), one might jump to the conclusion that the next Bond reboot film could be set in the past. In fact, the idea that the next James Bond reboot movie could be a period piece is a rumor that's been circulating for at least two years. Recently, Andor creator Tony Gilroy even mentioned that a historical Bond was something he and Steven Soderbergh attempted decades ago, and that he believed it was possible that the plan for the next Amazon-produced Bond was similar to he and Soderbergh 1960s throwback that never happened. "It sounds to me very much like what they're doing now," Gilory said. A James Bond movie set in the 1960s would be one thing, but perhaps the more interesting move here would be if Steven Knight went back to the actual beginning of James Bond: the 1950s. If Villeneuve and Knight are doing a direct adaptation of one Ian Fleming's novels, then a historical Bond movie set in, say, 1953, would be incredible. In fact, it would be the one thing that the franchise has never done, not once: A period-accurate adaptation of one of Fleming's original books. Could Knight and Villeneuve make it happen? If so, the next era for James Bond might be the realization of Fleming's dream, seven decades later.'Peaky Blinders' Creator Reportedly Will Write Next James Bond Movie first appeared on Men's Journal on Jul 31, 2025 Solve the daily Crossword

One Marvel Star Maybe Just Took Himself Out of the Running For James Bond and Nobody Noticed
Once Denis Villeneuve was named as the director for the next James Bond movie, rumors immediately started flying as to who he might want as the new 007. At the top of that list of possible actors was Tom Holland, best known to millions as the incumbent Peter Parker in the Spider-Man and Avengers films. But now, it's possible that Holland has quietly taken himself out of the running for Bond. Here's why. Will Tom Holland be the next James Bond? While it's possible that Holland could still be cast as James Bond, his commitments to other projects, including various Marvel films, might prevent that from happening. In fact, in a new interview with the U.K. edition of GQ, published on August 1, 2025, Holland indicated he will be taking a break from acting sometime in 2027. "You can't be in every movie, and you can't do your best work when you're burnt out," Holland said in the interview, referring to the idea that he wants to avoid burnout. "I've got a slightly busy year next year, and then I'll probably take a bit more time off in 2027. We'll see." The busy year next year almost certainly refers to the fact that Holland will be promoting Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which hits theaters a year from now, on July 31, 2026. But, does that mean Holland won't be shooting a new film in 2026 or 2027?The Next James Bond Movie's Possible Release Date As of this writing, Amazon MGM has not nailed down an exact release window for the next James Bond movie. But 2027 is possible. Assuming the film was cast by the end of 2025, and went into production sometime in 2026, that means a release date of anytime in 2027 is reasonable. At least hypothetically. So, if Tom Holland is taking "time off" in 2027, that seems to suggest he's not going to play James Bond. Unless, of course, the movie is done by that point, which would mean he could maybe still be in the running. Still, with so many other actors' names being floated for the role, it seems more likely that Holland won't become both Bond and Peter Parker within the same couple of years. And, until there's a big bombshell dropped by Amazon, the next face of 007 will remain in the Marvel Star Maybe Just Took Himself Out of the Running For James Bond and Nobody Noticed first appeared on Men's Journal on Aug 1, 2025 Solve the daily Crossword

Birmingham tributes to Ozzy Osbourne will be taken down and given to his family
Tributes left for Ozzy Osbourne in his home city of Birmingham are to be taken down and given to the late star's family. Birmingham City Council has started the process of removing thousands of tributes in honour of the Black Sabbath rocker following his death last month at the age of 76. Fans had flocked to the city to pay their respects to Ozzy as flowers, keepsake items and handwritten notes were left at Black Sabbath Bridge - a spot that marks the Paranoid band's formation. The council says that the tributes will be preserved at a secure location before being passed on to Ozzy's loved ones. It stated: "In due course, they will be passed on the Osbourne family, so they may keep them as a lasting reminder of the public's affection and support." A concert ticket from 1995 featured among the tributes, which also included artwork and beer cans. Kate Brazier, head of city centre events at the council, said: "We've found all sorts - artwork, cans of beer and candles. We've found a box of tea with a message that says, 'Just in case you can't find a cuppa in heaven.' "But for me, the one that stands out the most is (the concert ticket) that someone's left a message on. It probably meant a lot to someone at one point in their life." Ozzy's family viewed the tributes during his funeral procession in the city last week and said they were "deeply moved" by the affection the public had for the Prince of Darkness - who had played his final gig with Black Sabbath at Birmingham's Villa Park stadium just 17 days prior to his death. A statement read: "We are deeply moved by the heartfelt tributes that have been placed at the Black Sabbath Bridge and at the Black Sabbath mural on Navigation Street in recent days. "These expressions of remembrance reflect the profound impact that Ozzy had on the city and its people, as well as fans from around the world - BIRMINGHAM FOREVER!" Lord Mayor of Birmingham Zafar Iqbal said: "We understand how important it is for the community to have a space to grieve and celebrate Ozzy's legacy. "We know fans will continue to pay their respects at the Black Sabbath Bridge and the mural on Navigation Street, as well as visiting the Ozzy exhibition."
