WWE Money in the Bank big takeaways: R-Truth's release 'all part of the show,' says Triple H

Yahoo3 hours ago

John Cena's retirement tour saw another unexpected swerve with Ron Killings — aka R-Truth — returning at the conclusion of a wild WWE Money in the Bank 2025 event on Saturday night from the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California.
The show provided plenty of twists, with a new Women's Intercontinental Champion, two new contenders with the Money in the Bank briefcase, and Jacob Fatu yet again stealing the spotlight.

As we unpack all that went down, here are our biggest takeaways from WWE Money in the Bank 2025 as we march toward SummerSlam.
1. R-Truth Out, Ron Killings In
John Cena's final run is certainly unlike anything we've seen before. It felt like his matches with Randy Orton and R-Truth were his odes to the past before he moved on to the current day and the future of WWE on his way out.
His tag-team match with Logan Paul against Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso on Saturday provided the right level of chaos, and his breakdown with Paul was perfectly played. Cena used the title as a weapon once again and was on his way to another win over Rhodes before Ron Killings made his unexpected return, just days after his reported release.

Whether this was the plan the entire time or something that was a reaction to the fans, it's fascinating to see where we go from here, though WWE Chief Creative Officer Paul "Triple H" Levesque claimed Killings' release was "all part of the show" in his post-event press conference. Regardless, it's clear for now that WWE is doing its best to keep Rhodes and Cena on the back burner.
2. Naomi's Next Step
With a blend of former champions and rising up-and-coming stars involved in the Women's Money in the Bank match, Naomi had the most to gain from pulling down the briefcase. She had a standout performance at WrestleMania 41 and seemed well-positioned for a main-event spot, but it's never a guarantee to get to the top of the mountain.

Once at risk of getting lost in the shuffle, Noami has now secured herself a title shot and rightfully been rewarded for her work over the past year, both individually and elevating other talent. She legitimately has a chance to be the top heel in WWE as she rises to the top of the card.
3. Big Time Becky Is Back
Becky Lynch and Lyra Valkryia have incredible chemistry, and this rivalry feels like it has legs to get us through SummerSlam. For the feud to get there, Lynch was eventually going to have to take the belt — and Money in the Bank felt like the perfect time to pull the trigger.
Lynch is doing some of her best work in this rivalry, both in the ring and throughout their interactions. Her winning the belt with a hold of the tights, then demanding Valkyria celebrate her around the ring until she'd had enough, was incredibly executed. With Evolution 2 slated for July 13 and this feud far and away the best in the women's division, don't be surprised if Lynch-Lyra 3 heads toward the main event.
4. Jacob Fatu Rockets Up the Roster
Jacob Fatu's turn on Solo Sikoa was only a matter of time, with the final seeds being planted just one night ago on Friday's "WWE Smackdown." When he hit the ring to help take out Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed, his turn on Sikoa was a brutal swerve to cost Sikoa the Money in the Bank briefcase and set himself down his own path.

Sikoa was predominantly involved in the main-event scene as Roman Reigns' top aide, and he seemed destined to eventually find his way to the top as the leader of the new Bloodline. He just never quite made the strides to stand on his own, and now it looks like Fatu may just leapfrog him as his stock only continues to rise.
5. The Safe Choice Was Seth Rollins
WWE could have gone plenty of different directions with the Men's Money in the Bank winner. LA Knight and Solo Sikoa have been on the cusp of respective main title runs for the past few years. El Grande Americano was perhaps a dark horse alongside Penta. Meanwhile, an established star like Seth Rollins felt like an easy way out — which is where WWE landed.
Where Rollins plugs in is intriguing. Monday night's "WWE Raw" provides an opportunity for him to cash in on Jey Uso, when the World Heavyweight Champion takes on Gunther once again. Regardless of where he cashes in, though, it feels like only a matter of time before Rollins is champion again.

Today's Wordle Hints (and Answer) for Saturday, June 7, 2025

If you're looking for the Wordle answer for June 7, 2025, read on. We'll share some clues, tips, and strategies, and finally the solution. Today's puzzle is easier; I got it in two. Beware, there are spoilers below for June 7, Wordle #1,449! Keep scrolling if you want some hints (and then the answer) to today's Wordle game. How to play Wordle Wordle lives here on the New York Times website. A new puzzle goes live every day at midnight, your local time. Start by guessing a five-letter word. The letters of the word will turn green if they're correct, yellow if you have the right letter in the wrong place, or gray if the letter isn't in the day's secret word at all. For more, check out our guide to playing Wordle here, and my strategy guide here for more advanced tips. (We also have more information at the bottom of this post, after the hints and answers.) Ready for the hints? Let's go! Does today's Wordle have any unusual letters? We'll define common letters as those that appear in the old typesetters' phrase ETAOIN SHRDLU. (Memorize this! Pronounce it 'Edwin Shirdloo,' like a name, and pretend he's a friend of yours.) They're all common letters from our mnemonic today. Can you give me a hint for today's Wordle? Reduce, recycle. Does today's Wordle have any double or repeated letters? There is one repeated letter today. How many vowels are in today's Wordle? There are two vowels, one used twice. What letter does today's Wordle start with? Today's word starts with R. What letter does today's Wordle end with? Today's word ends with E. What is the solution to today's Wordle? Ready? Today's word is REUSE. How I solved today's Wordle I started with RAISE. REUSE was the most common word remaining. Yesterday's Wordle answer Yesterday's Wordle was easier. The hint was "teach, formally' and the answer contained three common letters, one somewhat common letter, and one uncommon letter. The answer to yesterday's Wordle was EDIFY. A primer on Wordle basics The idea of Wordle is to guess the day's secret word. When you first open the Wordle game, you'll see an empty grid of letters. It's up to you to make the first move: type in any five-letter word. Now, you can use the colors that are revealed to get clues about the word: Green means you correctly guessed a letter, and it's in the correct position. (For example, if you guess PARTY, and the word is actually PURSE, the P and R will be green.) Yellow means the letter is somewhere in the word, but not in the position you guessed it. (For example, if you guessed PARTY, but the word is actually ROAST, the R, A and T will all be yellow.) Gray means the letter is not in the solution word at all. (If you guessed PARTY and everything is gray, then the solution cannot be PURSE or ROAST.) With all that in mind, guess another word, and then another, trying to land on the correct word before you run out of chances. You get six guesses, and then it's game over. The best starter words for Wordle What should you play for that first guess? The best starters tend to contain common letters, to increase the chances of getting yellow and green squares to guide your guessing. (And if you get all grays when guessing common letters, that's still excellent information to help you rule out possibilities.) There isn't a single 'best' starting word, but the New York Times's Wordle analysis bot has suggested starting with one of these: CRANE TRACE SLANT CRATE CARTE Meanwhile, an MIT analysis found that you'll eliminate the most possibilities in the first round by starting with one of these: SALET REAST TRACE CRATE SLATE Other good picks might be ARISE or ROUND. Words like ADIEU and AUDIO get more vowels in play, but you could argue that it's better to start with an emphasis on consonants, using a starter like RENTS or CLAMP. Choose your strategy, and see how it plays out. How to win at Wordle We have a few guides to Wordle strategy, which you might like to read over if you're a serious student of the game. This one covers how to use consonants to your advantage, while this one focuses on a strategy that uses the most common letters. In this advanced guide, we detail a three-pronged approach for fishing for hints while maximizing your chances of winning quickly. The biggest thing that separates Wordle winners from Wordle losers is that winners use their guesses to gather information about what letters are in the word. If you know that the word must end in -OUND, don't waste four guesses on MOUND, ROUND, SOUND, and HOUND; combine those consonants and guess MARSH. If the H lights up in yellow, you know the solution. One more note on strategy: the original Wordle used a list of about 2,300 solution words, but after the game was bought by the NYT, the game now has an editor who hand-picks the solutions. Sometimes they are slightly tricky words that wouldn't have made the original list, and sometimes they are topical. For example, FEAST was the solution one Thanksgiving. So keep in mind that there may be a theme. Wordle alternatives If you can't get enough of five-letter guessing games and their kin, the best Wordle alternatives, ranked by difficulty, include: Wheeldle, which lets you play one puzzle after another Dordle and Quordle, which ask you to play two (Dordle) or four (Quordle) puzzles at the same time, with the same guesses. There is also Octordle, with eight puzzles, and Sedecordle, with 16. Waffle, which shows you several five-letter words, scrambled in a grid; you play by swapping the letters around until you solve. Absurdle, which changes the solution after each guess, but needs to stay consistent with its previous feedback. You have to strategically back it into a corner until there is only one possible word left; then you guess it, and win. Squabble, in which you play Wordle against other people with a timer running. You take damage if you spend too much time between guesses; winner is the last one standing. Antiwordle, in which you are trying not to guess the day's solution. You're required to reuse any letters that you (oops) guessed correctly, so the longer it takes you, the better you are at the game.

Museum in Seymour opens new wing with annual festival

SEYMOUR (KFDX/KJTL)— The Whiteside Museum of Natural History is celebrating the opening of a new museum expansion through their annual Permian Fest. This year's Permian Fest kicked off with the grand opening of the museum's new wing, which doubles the size of the original building. So, while families and prehistory enthusiasts could come and check out guest lectures and shop outside the museum, the views inside the building's new wing were another sight to behold. While Permian Fest is usually a big driver for fundraising on its own, the new wing is generating a lot of enthusiasm for the museum's future from the guests and museum staff, like assistant director Holly Simon. 'Locals here don't get to experience going to big museums, and our museum was definitely very popular with the local community,' Simon said. 'But now that we have a giant Ceratosaurus skeleton and a big mammoth skeleton, it's really cool that we get to bring that big city museum experience to the locals.' The expansion adds a total of 9,000 square feet to the museum's footprint, and the new space allows for reorganizations of old exhibits and the expansion of others. The new Bakker Dinosaur Hall and the Sundell Mammal Hall are two such examples. The fossil preparation lab also got a major expansion. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved.
