Agra: UP CM
Yogi Adityanath
, while on a visit to Mathura on Janmashtami on Saturday, said that there are ambitious plans to "re-establish" the Braj region as a major pilgrimage centre. "We're coming up with a new action plan of Rs 30,000 crore for overall development of Braj kshetra," the CM said, adding that "if
Ayodhya
is known for Ram Janmabhoomi, Mathura is revered as Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi".
Extending greetings on the 5,252nd birth anniversary of Shri Krishna, Yogi said the project would revive the spirit of the "Dwapar era" across Mathura, Vrindavan, Barsana, Gokul, Baldeo and Govardhan, among others. Invoking Shri Krishna, the CM said, "His (Krishna's) life was dedicated to protecting the righteous and destroying evil. His inspiration of selfless work gives us strength — no one can harm us as long as that spirit remains.
"
He added: "Braj bhoomi is the land of Lord Vishnu's complete incarnation as Lord Krishna and his divine 'Leelas'. From Ayodhya to Mathura, these places stand as enduring symbols of the country's spiritual heritage... Our govt has decided to develop these ancient pilgrimage sites."
"Along with the development of all pilgrimage places, including Mathura and Vrindavan, a comprehensive plan should be implemented focusing on improving facilities and security for devotees at these sites.

Hence, we are considering it, and work is about to begin...," the CM said.
After he arrived in Mathura on Saturday afternoon, Yogi visited Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi, offered prayers, and urged devotees to follow Lord Krishna's path of 'dharma' while at the same time working for society and the nation's welfare. He also underlined the need to preserve Sanatan heritage alongside modern development and highlighted his govt's various achievements.
Reiterating the commitment of the "double-engine govt under PM Modi's leadership", he said efforts were on to ensure modernity while preserving spiritual heritage. He added that efforts were also on to restore the Yamuna's purity and ensure the river's uninterrupted flow.
Participating in a seers' felicitation event in Mathura, he laid the foundation stone of 118 projects worth Rs 646 crore for the region. These projects include beautification of 'parikrama' routes, kund renovations, new entrance gates, connectivity upgrades, water conservation and environmental initiatives. New facilities such as the Barsana ropeway were aimed at easing pilgrimage for the elderly, he said.

Dharmapuri's development synonymous with DMK: CM Stalin

DHARMAPURI: Dharmapuri's development is synonymous with the DMK, said Chief Minister MK Stalin during an event here on Sunday. Now Rs 7,890 crore has been approved for the project and we are working on its implementation." The demand of people in Dharmapuri for a SIPCOT has been implemented and we have started preparatory work by paving roads, installing streetlights and other work for Rs 12.39 crore. In the next phase, we will improve the infrastructure in a 200 acre expanse for Rs 93 crore. Seven industries have been finalised for the SIPCOT industrial park, he added. 'In the past four years, we have provided Rs 447.26 crore worth welfare assistance to the people of Dharmapuri, which includes our signature schemes such as 'Kalaignar Mahalir Urimai Thogai', 'Vidiyal Payanam', 'Naan Mudhalvan' and 'Makkalai Thedi Maruthuvam', among other schemes," Stalin said. National level agitation in support of evacuees: CPM

VR Puram (ASR District): CPI (M) national leadership has announced that they will fight at a national-level to address the problems of those displaced and evacuees by the Polavaram project. CPI (M) General Secretary MA Baby, Rajya Sabha floor leader John Brittas, and other party state leaders, including K Lokanadham, Thulasidas, and Balaram, visited the project's submergence areas in Chintoor, VR Puram, and Yetapaka mandals of Alluri Sitarama Raju district on Sunday. The affected residents presented petitions to the CPI (M) national leaders, detailing their struggles. The leaders assured them that their hardships would be brought to the country's attention at the national level. A public meeting was held at Ramavaram in the VR Puram mandal, chaired by local party leader Puli Bujji. Speaking at the meeting, Baby questioned why the state government, which is planning to build a capital at a cost of thousands of crores, is failing to resolve the issues of the Polavaram evacuees. He criticised the BJP, TDP, and YSRCP governments for their 'miserable failure' in fulfilling promises made to the displaced. Baby highlighted that according to the 2013 Land Acquisition Act, the displaced people should be provided with a dignified life and colonies with improved infrastructure. However, he stated that the ground reality is completely different. He expressed his dismay that residents are forced to live under tarpaulins as the roofs of their new homes leak just four years after construction. He also said that while the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the Polavaram national project was valued at Rs 55,000 crore, the central government has only released Rs 2,200 crore. Of this, only Rs 7,000 crore were spent on rehabilitation, and Baby alleged that there were commissions and corruption involved. He demanded an investigation and legal action against those responsible. He also called for skill training and employment opportunities for the displaced and compensation of Rs 20 lakh per acre for their land. He urged party members to fight for these demands. John Brittas, CPM's Rajya Sabha floor leader, said hewas 'stunned' by the conditions in the Polavaram rehabilitation colonies, which lacked even basic facilities. He questioned why MPs from Andhra Pradesh representing the TDP and YSRCP are not raising these issues in Parliament. He advised the AP MPs to visit the rehabilitation colonies built in Kerala, where displaced people were provided with education, health, transport, and employment opportunities. He condemned the attempt to complete the Polavaram project without providing a proper rehabilitation package, describing it as a conspiracy to force the displaced residents to leave by submerging their areas. Brittas affirmed that the CPI (M) would raise the voice of the Polavaram displaced in Parliament. Central Committee member K Lokanadham stated that Polavaram is not just a project, but also the government's responsibility to rehabilitate those who sacrificed their land. He alleged irregularities in the contour calculations made by officials in Ramavaram, noting that of the 279 houses in the village, only the 166 on one side of the road were notified for displacement. He questioned whether the houses on the other side of the road would not also be submerged. Boppena Kiran, CPI (M) district secretary of Rampachodavaram, expressed hisgratitude that the CPI (M) has recognised the struggles of the Polavaram displaced as a national issue. Party leaders B Thulasidas, B Balaram, Lotha Ramarao, Matla Vaneesree, Pallapu Venkat, Sunnam Rajulu, Puli Santosh, Seasam Suresh, and MPP Karam Lakshmi also attended the meeting. Trump's policy ‘reversal' may push India towards China, Russia, says analyst Fareed Zakaria: ‘Damage is done'

US President Donald Trump's "sudden, inexplicable hostility toward India reverses policies pursued" under five US administrations, including his own previous one, a CNN host analysed. "If it holds, this reversal may be the biggest strategic mistake of the Trump presidency so far," Indian-American journalist Fareed Zakaria said in his analysis on CNN. Global affairs analyst Zakaria also shed light on the impact of Trump's "reversal" on Indians. He suggested that Trump's new policy reversal against India may push the latter towards Russia and China. He said, "Indians believe that America has shown its true colours, its [US']unreliability, its willingness to be brutal to those it calls its friends." "They will understandably feel that they need to hedge their bets, stay close to Russia and even make amends with China," he added. Zakaria noted that India has a long history of seeking to be non-aligned. "Under [Prime Minister Narendra] Modi, [India] embraced a variation called multi-alignment, allowing it to freelance and maintain good ties with all sides," he added. He added, "Persistent American diplomacy and the rise of China had been chipping away at that stance, and India had slowly but surely been embracing closer ties with America." But that's "no more" the case, he said, analysing that "even if Trump reverses course once again, the damage is done." Zakaria highlighted America's "sustained outreach toward India" how Trump reversed the policies that were pursued in favour of India under five administrations. 1. "President Clinton's visit in 2000 was hugely successful and opened up the possibility of a new home relationship between the two countries," he said. 2. "The pivotal shift took place under George W Bush. His administration realised that a rising China was transforming the international system, and the single most important counterweight to China could be India..." "A close relationship between Washington and New Delhi would be the key to preventing Chinese domination of Asia and securing America's interests in the region," Zakaria said, noting that "the giant obstacle in the way "was India's nuclear weapons program." 3. He said the Bush administration decided that India should be treated like a great power, like France or Britain or China. "It offered a historic deal that ended the isolation India had faced because of its news. That deal, expertly navigated on the Indian side by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, marked a watershed in the relations between the two countries," he said. 4. "After that, things got closer. The Obama administration saw India as key to its pivot to Asia and supported New Delhi's bid to become a permanent member of the UN Security Council. He greatly increased trade between the two economies," Zakaria said. 5. The CNN analyst went on to say that the first Trump administration "took an important leap forward politically. It elevated the Quad, a defense-oriented group of the US, Australia, Japan and India, and gave it more substance. Trump also embraced and promoted his personal relationship with Prime Minister Modi." 6. "President Biden built on the Trump legacy, forging greater cooperation in defense and economics. India began planning to cooperate with the US in the manufacture of everything - from fighter jets to computer jets in the second quarter of this year." 7. "Enter Trump 2.0 -- "With little warning, Donald Trump has undone decades of painstaking effort by American diplomats. He placed India in the highest category of tariff countries along with Syria and Myanmar, while placing Pakistan at just 19% and offering joint efforts to look for oil in that met with Pakistan's army chief in private..."
