While his departure once seemed all but certain, Congolese striker Fiston Kalala Mayele may now end up staying with Pyramids FC for the upcoming season.
Several media outlets, including Egyptian journalist Ahmed Shobier, had confirmed that Mayele had decided to leave the reigning CAF Champions League winners after receiving an enticing offer from a Saudi club competing in the Saudi Pro League (also known as the Roshn League).
The same sources indicated that the player was eager to take on a new challenge, and that Pyramids management was not opposed to his departure despite his importance to the squad.
