Anne Burrell, the Food Network star best known for hosting the channel's hit show 'Worst Cooks in America,' died Tuesday. She was 55.
Burrell died at her home in Brooklyn, according to People magazine. Her cause of death was not immediately reported.
'Anne's light radiated far beyond those she knew, touching millions across the world,' Burrell's family told People in a statement. 'Though she is no longer with us, her warmth, spirit, and boundless love remain eternal.'
Burrell became a fan favorite at the Food Network for her energetic personality on 'Worst Cooks,' doing her best to shape floundering chefs into respectable recipe followers.
She got her start at Food Network as a sous chef on 'Iron Chef America' before taking on a larger role. Burrell also appeared on 'Chef Wanted,' 'Chopped,' 'Food Network Star' and a new series, 'House of Knives,' which debuted in March.

Food Network Star Anne Burrell Was Found 'Unconscious And Unresponsive' At Home Just Hours After Starring In Her First Improv Show
On Tuesday, the sad news broke that beloved chef and Food Network star Anne Burrell had died at age 55. Representatives for Anne confirmed that she passed away on the morning of June 17 at her home in Brooklyn, New York. "Anne was a beloved wife, sister, daughter, stepmother, and friend — her smile lit up every room she entered," her family shared in a statement. "Anne's light radiated far beyond those she knew, touching millions across the world. Though she is no longer with us, her warmth, spirit, and boundless love remain eternal." While Anne's cause of death is still unknown, it has now been reported that she was found 'unconscious and unresponsive' at the scene. Per People, the New York City Police Department said that officers from the 76th Precinct responded to 'an unconscious and unresponsive 55-year-old female' at around 7:50 a.m. on Tuesday. Emergency services are said to have "responded and pronounced her deceased on scene.' The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine Anne's cause of death after carrying out an autopsy. It's worth noting that while police did not name Anne as the deceased in their statement to People, the publication has confirmed that her address matches the one officers provided.
