On3's Pete Nakos reported that a former Big 12 foe is visiting with Kern in the form of the Oklahoma State Cowboys.
Kern was a member of Texas' 2024 recruiting class, which ranked sixth nationally on On3 Sports.
Texas reached the SEC Championship Game and lost to the Ohio State Buckeyes in the semifinal of the playoff.

Texas initially recruited Kern as a kicker, and he was a three-star recruit in the 2024 class. He was the No. 8 kicker in the On3 Industry Rankings.
Kern had 64 punts in 2024, 1,706 total punt yards, and an average of 41.6 yards per punt. He played in all 16 of the Longhorns' games last season.

Texas has added 10 players from the portal and lost 16. The Longhorns' most significant losses are receiver Johntay Cook II, tight end Amari Niblack, edge rusher Justice Finkley, and linebacker Derion Gullette.
Defensive lineman Travis Shaw (North Carolina), defensive lineman Hero Kanu (Ohio State), defensive lineman Cole Brevard (Purdue), receiver Emmett Mosley (Stanford), and linebacker Brad Spence (Arkansas) highlight the program's transfer additions.
After starting the 2024 season ranked No. 17, Oklahoma State ended the year at 3-9. The Cowboys won their first three games, but went on a nine-game losing streak to close out the regular season.
Texas opens the 2025 season against Ohio State on Aug. 30.

SEE IT: Steve Sarkisian and Co. roll out Lamborghinis in Austin amid recruiting camps

SEE IT: Steve Sarkisian and Co. roll out Lamborghinis in Austin amid recruiting camps Texas players have already inked promotional deals with Lamborghini Austin, with running back Bijan Robinson becoming the first to sign such a partnership in 2022. The Texas Longhorns are making headlines again, not just for their play on the field but for their high-octane recruiting tactics. Over the weekend, the university showcased a fleet of Lamborghinis outside its football facilities as it hosted some of the nation's top high school prospects for official visits. The luxury cars, parked in front of the Moncrief Athletics Center next to Darrell K Royal–Texas Memorial Stadium, were impossible to miss as blue-chip recruits arrived in Austin. The spectacle is part of an ongoing trend for Texas, which first rolled out the exotic cars during last year's recruiting cycle. This year's event featured around 14 to 15 top targets from the Class of 2026, including five-star running back Ezavier Crowell and Lamar Brown, as well as four-star edge rusher Jamarion Carlton, cornerback Davon Benjamin and four-star quarterback Kavian Bryant. The display is more than just a photo opportunity. It's a visual reminder of the opportunities available to student-athletes in the Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) era. Texas players have already inked promotional deals with Lamborghini Austin, with running back Bijan Robinson becoming the first to sign such a partnership in 2022. Since then, other Longhorns, including Jordan Whittington, Jake Majors, Michael Taaffe, and Isaiah Bond, have also driven Lamborghinis as part of NIL deals. While the Lamborghinis have become a social media sensation, the move has drawn mixed reactions from fans and commentators. Some see it as a bold and effective marketing strategy, while others criticize it as a flashy distraction from the fundamentals of college football. Either way, it sticks out to recruits, come to Texas and Texas One Fund connections could net you an NIL deal with Lamborghini of Austin. As Texas prepares for its second season in the SEC, head coach Steve Sarkisian and his staff are making it clear that the Longhorns are willing to leverage every advantage to attract elite talent. Whether the Lamborghinis ultimately translate to wins on the field remains to be seen, but for now, Texas is sending a message to recruits and rivals alike: the Longhorns are back, and they're not afraid to make a statement.

Houston Astros Make Pair of Roster Moves on Sunday

Houston Astros Make Pair of Roster Moves on Sunday originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Houston Astros will enter Sunday's game on the road against the Cleveland Guardians with a 36-28 record. So far this season, the Astros have looked solid. They haven't been an elite contender, but they have shown flashes of being the kind of team that could pick up speed in the second half of the year. Advertisement Right now, they hold a 3.5-game lead over the Seattle Mariners in the race for the American League West division. However, there are clear areas where Houston should look to improve. On Sunday before their matchup with the Guardians, the Astros made a pair of roster moves. As shared by MLB Trade Rumors, Houston designated right-handed pitcher Forrest Whitley for assignment. In a corresponding move, they called up left-handed pitcher Brandon Walter from Triple-A. Houston Astros manager Joe Espada.© Ken Blaze-Imagn Images Whitley, a 27-year-old relief pitcher, had appeared in five games for the Astros this season. He did not pitch well, compiling a 12.27 ERA, a 2.05 WHIP, eight strikeouts, and six walks in 7.1 innings of work. Advertisement Walter, on the other hand, has made 11 appearances this season at the Triple-A level, with seven of those games being starts. He holds a 3-1 record to go along with a 2.08 ERA, a 0.76 WHIP, 49 strikeouts, seven walks, and 47.2 innings pitched. Houston has a lot of upside and potential with this move. Walter, who is 28 years old, could come up and be a difference maker either as a starter or a reliever. At the very least, it's a slight shakeup to the pitching staff that could yield better results that the team was finding with Whitley on the mound. Clemson is one of the biggest college football hype trains rolling into 2025, expert says

Clemson is one of the biggest college football hype trains rolling into 2025, expert says The Clemson Tigers understandably have a lot of hype heading into the 2025 college football season. After the year quarterback Cade Klubnik had in 2024 (3,639 passing yards, 36 TDs), and a host of other talent returning on both sides of the ball in defensive linemen T.J. Parker and Peter Woods and receivers Antonio Williams, Bryant Wesco and TJ Moore, Clemson is as high as No. 2 in various post-spring top 25 rankings (USA TODAY Sports, ESPN). With 83 days remaining until the Tigers open the season against LSU at Memorial Stadium on Aug. 30, CBS Sports has Clemson on its list of the 12 biggest "hype trains" with the most offseason buzz rolling into 2025. Analyst Carter Bahns said of the Tigers: "Dabo Swinney is nearly seven years removed from his second national championship, but after a long stretch that saw his Clemson program slip from its pedestal, he has a behemoth of a 2025 roster that could get back to the mountaintop. Cade Klubnik might be college football's top quarterback after he improved throughout last season, and his stacked receiving corps will only help him reach the next level as a Heisman contender. Expected improvements on defense with Tom Allen taking over the unit will make the Tigers as well-rounded as anyone." Swinney brought in Allen to run the defense after heading up a Penn State unit that went 11-1 in the regular season and reached the semifinal round of the College Football Playoff in 2024. Allen will be tasked to improve a Clemson defense that, under Wes Goodwin, gave up an average of 374 yards per game (69th nationally). The Tigers went 10-4 last year and defeated SMU, 34-31, in a thrilling ACC Championship Game on a walk-off 56-yard Nolan Hauser field goal as time expired. They made the College Football Playoff for the first time in four years and were ranked No. 11 in the final US LBM Coaches Poll. Clemson's season opener against LSU will be in prime time at 7:30 p.m. ET. The game will be televised on ABC.
