On the historic edition of AEW Dynamite 300, top star Mercedes Mone was slated to defend her TBS Championship against Mina Shirakawa. The match was a stellar showdown and led to loud cheers from the audience.
In the end, The CEO rolled up Shirakawa for the pin to retain her title. She even attacked "Timeless" Toni Storm who was watching the action ringside.
As she was leaving the ringside area, Mone decided to steal one of John Cena's iconic catchphrases. She held the TBS title high, looking into the camera to send a message to Toni Storm and said, "Your Time is Up, My Time is Now." Cena has been heard saying the line for years, and this is even the first line of his WWE theme song that he recorded himself.
Mercedes Mone and Timeless Toni Storm have been engaged in a heated feud for weeks. It began when Mone won the Owen Hart Foundation Cup to earn the right to challenge her for her AEW Women's World title at their premier event, AEW All In Texas in a few weeks. It has been billed as a dream showdown for the company and is expected to be nothing short of a blockbuster event.
As for John Cena, he is halfway through his farewell tour in WWE. The Never Seen 17 successfully defended his Undisputed WWE title at the Night of Champions PLE against his longtime rival, CM Punk. He is next set to compete in a major match at SummerSlam, with Cody Rhodes, who won King of the Ring tournament, likely to be his opponent in a rematch from WrestleMania 41.
