MSR Supporting Helen's Pink Sky Foundation

Fox Sports06-05-2025

INDYCAR
Meyer Shank Racing announced Tuesday its pledge to long-term support to Helen's Pink Sky Foundation, with its NTT INDYCAR SERIES cars driven by Felix Rosenqvist and Marcus Armstrong will carry the Foundation's decal in every race moving forward — and will do so until a cure is found for Batten disease.
The pledge is aimed at driving awareness of CLN2 and Batten Disease which is a rare neurodegenerative disorder that affects just 2-4 of 100,000 children.
This initiative holds a deeply personal significance for the MSR team and family. Three year old Helen Betty Born, the Foundation's namesake and relative of the Meyer family was born on May 31st, 2021 — the same day Helio Castroneves captured his historic fourth Indianapolis 500 victory with Meyer Shank Racing.
Helen was diagnosed with Batten disease on March 10, 2025. Through devastation and heartache upon diagnosis, Helen pointed toward the pink sky which gave the Born family a sign of hope and a newfound purpose to find a cure for their little girl.
"This one really hits close to home for us and we want to drive as much awareness as possible for this awful disease,' said Tim Meyer, MSR COO and Foundation Board Member. 'We're going to tell Helen's story everywhere we race and do our part to help this amazing little girl. Helen is so full of life and we just find her courage so inspiring. What she now faces is evil, it breaks my heart to see a child have to take on so much. We're going to fight like hell to help her and her family in anyway we can.'
Together, MSR and the entire Born family will strive to create as much awareness as possible in hopes that a cure is found soon.
"The response of the MSR team and their willingness to drive awareness for our little girl is so meaningful to me, our family and this foundation,' said Stephanie Born, Helen's Mom and Foundation Board Member. 'Our world changed dramatically not long ago and our journey ahead is a long and challenging one, but we won't lose hope, especially when it's all we have. Thank to Jim [Meyer], Mike [Shank], Tim [Meyer] and the entire team from the bottom of our heart, your support today and going forward will bring a smile to Helen's face.'
Helen's Pink Sky Foundation will have its first activation May 30th-June 1st in honor of Helen's fourth birthday. The Foundation will host and encourage people around the country to host a pink lemonade stand with all proceeds going towards Batten disease research and finding a cure for Helen. Chance Meeting Draws Juan Manuel Correa into INDY NXT

INDYCAR Juan Manuel Correa is a great example of how timing and relationships can shape opportunities in motorsport. Correa was at Barber Motorsports Park during the race weekend May 1-4, not to race, but to coach a driver in USF Juniors. That weekend also featured NTT INDYCAR SERIES and INDY NXT by Firestone events. While at the track, Correa reconnected with Mike Maurini, president of HMD Motorsports. The two have a prior relationship through Maurini's personal business, RTD Media & Management. 'I was literally coming out of the bathroom on my scooter, I crossed Mike (Maurini), and Mike and I go back a long way, karting days here in the U.S., and he's like, 'Hey, what are you doing here?'' Correa said. 'I was like, 'Not much.' He's like, 'You want to drive INDY NXT?' I was like, 'Yeah, let's do it.' 'It was within 24 hours that we had signed a contract, I did my medicals, and I was on my way to Indy for the GP.' Correa wasted no time making an impact during his unexpected entry into the INDY NXT field. In his series debut driving the No. 39 HMD Motorsports entry on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course, he finished 21st and 14th, respectively, in the doubleheader. The Detroit Grand Prix on June 1 was his third career start. Correa finished third, earning his first podium on a notoriously demanding street circuit, all without any prior testing in the car. 'Everything is different, but at the same time, to drive a race car fast, there's only one way to do it,' Correa said. He's adapting by using teammate Caio Collet's setups while learning the nuances of the Dallara chassis used in INDY NXT compared to his time in FIA Formula 3, FIA Formula 2 and endurance racing. He finished fifth in the 12 Hours of Sebring sports car race in March, driving for United Autosport. 'Hopefully with a little bit more time, I can start building something that suits me a little bit better, but at the moment I feel pretty good with the car, and I think we'll be competitive for the rest of the year, and we're looking forward to that,' he said. What sets Correa apart is not just his speed, but his mental toughness. He's a survivor of a devastating 2019 F2 crash in Belgium that nearly ended his life. Correa was in a coma, underwent a 17-hour leg surgery and had to learn to walk again. Correa rebuilt his career step by step and returned to racing in 2021. Despite having no plans to race in INDY NXT this season, just over a month ago, Correa has a clear target. 'INDY NXT was not my plan,' Correa said. 'Four weeks ago, I was not going to be here. I was going to be coaching throughout the season and trying to find a drive next year somewhere. The opportunity just came, and I took it, and I'm glad I did. 'I've been following INDYCAR for as long as I've been following F1, to be honest. I just took the European route because certain things in my career kind of drove me that way. But now that I'm here, yeah, (the NTT INDYCAR SERIES) is the ultimate goal. It's an amazing series, and this is the place to be if we want to go.' Correa and his INDY NXT by Firestone competitors return to the track next weekend at World Wide Technology Raceway. The race airs at 4:30 p.m. ET Sunday, June 15 on FS1 and the INDYCAR Radio Network. recommended

Urban Meyer unable to properly count Georgia's number of home games

Urban Meyer unable to properly count Georgia's number of home games Former Florida Gators and Ohio State Buckeyes head coach Urban Meyer discussed the Georgia Bulldogs' prospects for the 2025 college football season on "The Triple Option" podcast. The podcast features Meyer, former Alabama Crimson Tide running back Mark Ingram and fellow FOX college football analyst Rob Stone. Meyer emphasized the importance of scheduling and how it impacts a team's success. "I am sitting here looking at Georgia's schedule. They are playing nine, this is an SEC schedule man, nine games at home," said Meyer. There's no doubt that Georgia scheduled a soft nonconference schedule in 2025. "Marshall, Austin Peay and Charlotte and they've got nine. Count them. Nine home games," added Meyer. "Come on Kirby (Smart) what in the world was that." Meyer fails to mention that Georgia plays Georgia Tech, as usual, in nonconference play. Well, we counted. We have a copy of Georgia's schedule and can clearly see that the Bulldogs play seven home games, which is very common in this era of college. Georgia does play a pair of neutral site games against Florida and Georgia Tech. The Bulldogs only have three true road games, so that's what Meyer is trying to get at. It is a little embarrassing that Meyer, who obviously coached at Florida, did not realize that the Georgia-Florida game is played a neutral site on UGA's schedule. We also can see Ohio State's schedule from their 2024 national championship season, where the Buckeyes did actually play nine home games (includes one home game in the College Football Playoff). The Buckeyes played a three-game regular season nonconference slate of Akron, Western Kentucky and Marshall and had eight regular season games at home, which is a lot. As for Florida, the Gators had a challenging 2024 schedule that still featured seven home games. The Gators have six home games in 2025 while Ohio State had seven home games in 2025, which is the same amount as Georgia. Despite a weak nonconference schedule, Georgia's schedule is by no means easy. The Bulldogs play Alabama, Texas and Ole Miss at home and have road games against Auburn and Tennessee. Neutral site contests against Florida and Georgia Tech present significant challenges as well. Georgia football's 2025 schedule Follow UGAWire on Instagram!
