The Teen Mom star, 33, revealed — and defended — the decision she made to send her son Jace, 15, to live with his father Andrew Lewis in Florida in a recent TikTok video. Evans said that ultimately she had to do what was in "the best interest for my child," and believes it is a "positive thing for him."
"Jace is now staying with his father but also his grandmother on his other side, whom he has not seen since he was a baby," she said. "You guys are looking at it as a negative situation, but everyone behind closed doors is looking at it as a positive thing for him."
"So, you guys can say all you want," she continued. "You can say I'm not taking care of my kids. Being a mother is doing the best interest for your child, and I am going the best interest for my child. Thank you."

In the video, Evans explained that her son Jace has been navigating mental health issues and having different incidents since he was 10 years old.
"We never wanted to put it in front of the media and explain it because it was Jace's privacy," she said. "Now we get to the point where it's happened too many times, multiple incidents for years and years and years. Something had to be done."
The mom of three, who currently resides in Las Vegas, opened up more about what led her to make the call to his father.
"I said, 'Hey, I need help,' " she recalled. "I was in a panic attack. I was crying my eyes out, and I was like, 'For once, I need your help. I need you to take over this situation because all of us have put forth effort into as much as we can give.'"
"Separating the chaos from the situation right now to protect my two younger kids is very important, and also for him to protect himself," she added. "When you're co-parenting, if both sides of the family can come together to help solve these issues before they turn into adults and really get themselves in trouble, it's just really important."

The reality TV star first entered the spotlight in 2010 when she starred on MTV's 16 and Pregnant as a high school senior expecting her son Jace.
Evans then joined the cast of Teen Mom 2 in 2011, and viewers watched her first year of motherhood unfold, which included plenty of struggles as she balanced the responsibilities of parenthood with wanting to be a normal teenager. Not long after Jace's birth, Evans signed over custody of her son, whose father was not in the picture, to her mom, Barbara.
The young mom went on to welcome two more children: son Kaiser Orion, 10, with her ex-boyfriend Nathan Griffith, and daughter Ensley Jolie, 8, with her estranged husband, David Eason, whom she legally separated from in March 2024.

This week, Edits has added three more features: More transitions: As you can see in the first image above, Threads has added several new transition effects, including 'Zoom Ripple' and 'Vertical Stretch,' which you can easily add to every cut in your clips. There are now 35 transitions effects available in the app. Track handles sensitivity: You can now also be even more precise with your video cuts, with refined accuracy when you tap the edges of a clip in your tracking sequence. Apply all volume: Finally, you can now apply any volume changes to all of your clips at once, making it easier to ensure that you're not blasting your viewers with random sounds (or annoying them by suddenly dropping to a whisper). These are the latest in Instagram's weekly updates for the new video editing app, which it's hoping will become a replacement for TikTok's CapCut, and the new preferred video creation tool for creators. And it's definitely moving in the right direction, with an expanding range of handy customization and creative tools at your disposal in the currently free app. I saw 'currently' free because Instagram chief Adam Mosseri has noted that some of the more advanced AI features that the Edits team are working on may become part of a subscription offering, due to the additional cost of compute with these tools. But they could also be worth it, and with the Edits feature set continuing to expand, I'd hazard a guess that many creators will pay for the app, if it does end up switching to a paid model at some stage. TikTok Rolls Out More Ways to Control Your Content Recommendations

TikTok's rolling out some new control options for your main 'For You' feed, which will give users more ways to customize their TikTok stream to better align with their content preferences. Well, they're kind of new. First off, TikTok has announced that it's rolling out its 'Manage Topics' option to all users, giving you an easy way to tell TikTok what you're more interested in, via a range of topic sliders. As you can see in this example, 'Manage Topics,' which is available via 'Settings' > 'Content Preferences,' enables you to indicate how interested, or not, you are in different, broad-ranging topic categories. Which is a bit of a ham-fisted way to customize your display, but… As explained by TikTok: 'With Manage Topics, you can customize how often content related to over 10 popular topics is recommended in your feed - from Creative Arts, Travel, Nature and Sports. These settings won't eliminate any topics entirely, but can influence how often they're recommended as your interests evolve over time.' So they're pretty broad-scale topics, and you may or may not be able to rule out, or in certain subjects based on this. But there's obviously a lot of nuance within these top-level categories, so it might also be difficult to eliminate them entirely, based on these generic definitions. But it may be helpful for some users. TikTok actually launched this option with some users in August last year, and has been testing it ever since, so you may have already noticed it in your content options. But if you haven't, now you know, giving you more customization options for your feed. TikTok's also rolling out AI-powered "Smart Keyword Filters" which will help you limit content you don't want to see at all in the app. As you can see in this example, you can now enter keywords or hashtags that relate to content that you don't want to see at all in the app, and TikTok's system will then filter them out, so you're ideally not exposed to related videos in-stream. So if you really dislike renovation videos (like the user in this example), you can tell TikTok's system that, and it'll try to avoid showing you more of that content. Which could be good for weeding out potentially harmful trends, like 'SkinnyTok,' which TikTok has banned from its own search results this week, after coming under pressure about the trend in Europe. These new controls could enable users to act on such proactively, and eliminate potentially harmful content from their experience. Though TikTok's also taking additional action on that front, via enhanced content standards, which will restrict the reach of clips deemed inappropriate for a general audience, and new limits on frequent recommendations of videos that could be harmful if viewed too often (like extreme fitness-related content). TikTok hasn't provided a lot of detail on how it plans to tag some videos as inappropriate, but I'd assume that this relates to trends like SkinnyTok, which can have an impact on certain users. Finally, TikTok's also launched a new online guide to its 'For You' feed, which provides a general overview of how its algorithm recommends content, and how you can dictate your preferred experience. These are some good updates, which give users more control over their TikTok feed, though as with most of these tools, my guess would be that the majority of users won't bother to use them either way. Over time, social platform algorithms have increased our reliance on systematic recommendations, which can now feed more and more content to us, without us having to guide them or influence them in any way, other than watching. People don't even bother to follow profiles anymore, because we know that the algorithms will learn our preferences, and that's made us all a bit more lazy in implementing manual customizations like these. So while they're handy, and some users will get use out of them, I would expect that most users won't bother, they'll just continue to scroll, and stick around in the app, or now, based on what they're shown.
