Henrik Pedersen understands it will be tough for Sheff Wed to focus at Leicester
There are just 15 senior players left on the books at Hillsborough ahead of their season-opener at Leicester on Sunday, with the Owls red hot favourites to be relegated from the Sky Bet Championship.

Pedersen told the PA news agency: 'Of course it's not easy right now, it's not easy for our boys coming in every day. If it was easy then everyone would make a top performance in a difficult environment.
'It says so much about the character and the environment right now that how the boys are supporting each other is amazing. That's why we have a big hope for the future with all those good people.'
While Wednesday have sold out their allocation of tickets at the King Power Stadium, the club's supporters' trust has announced plans to protest the rule of controversial owner Dejphon Chansiri.
Fans have been called on to delay sitting in their seats until five minutes after kick-off while a plane is reportedly scheduled to fly overhead the stadium trailing an anti-Chansiri banner.
Owls manager Pedersen added: 'I understand the protest but one thing I am sure of when the referee blows his whistle on Sunday is we need everyone, we need everyone to stay together.
'Our fans generally and our away fans especially are always a fantastic inspiration for us. They have a lot of intensity and they are always positive when we are in difficult phases of the game.
'We will have to try to mirror this because it will be very difficult on Sunday.'
Pedersen stepped from his position as assistant to replace Danny Rohl, who left the club along with backroom staff members Sascha Lense, Chris Powell, Neil Thompson and Sal Bibbo last week.
Powell lifted the lid on the escalating crisis at the club as he told The Sports Agents podcast: 'It's the most functional dysfunctional football club I've ever been at.
'(Chansiri) doesn't sell players. He keeps them to the end of contracts, and they walk away. He was holding out for money for Danny. He was offered money (and) didn't take it.
'Danny was linked to all these clubs, but he didn't speak to them. I think (Chansiri) now thinks 'now he's gone, he hasn't got anywhere to go, so I've won'. That's the way he would think. It's bizarre.'
With Wednesday among a number of clubs in financial trouble, former England full-back Powell has called for more scrutiny on prospective owners from the independent football regulator.
Powell added: 'People come in, they flash the cash, they pass the (owners' and directors') test. I know that the test has changed somewhat in the last 10 years.
'There's now a regulator, but they really need to start banging heads now…it could quite easily be another Championship, League One, League Two club in six months' time.'

I've probably got them in relegation zone just, but if there's one that can stay up, I think it'll be them." Richards showered Leeds with compliments, revealing that manager Farke is actually his tenant. The ex-Aston Villa defender said: "I have two thoughts on Leeds. They play some really nice football, they have got money to spend, I really like the manager, Daniel Farke, probably more because he rents my flat in Harrogate. "But they are very entertaining. I think at times last season, they played so well, they were always in games and then they would concede. And then towards the end of last season they had [Illan] Meslier who was in net, who I still really rate, but they had to drop him. They made a few mistakes late doors, they brought in [Karl] Darlow just to steady this ship, they got it over the line. "But they've got some really good players, they've got a player called [Ao] Tanaka in midfield who is really good on the ball, gets them playing on the ball. But that [Anton] Stach who scored in pre-season the other day, been stacking them up. They have really high energy, really high energy with quality." Richards went on to highlight some of the squad's strengths and weaknesses, but confessed he believes the Whites can avoid an immediate return to the Championship, adding: "Sometimes on transition they can be quite naive and they can get punished. "But in terms of the overall squad, Elland Road will play a massive factor. We've all been to that ground and it is electric. It really is bouncing, you can't get any tickets there, they're literally sold out every week and I think that could play a massive part in them staying up. "So I'm going to say they're going to find it hard at times, but I think they've got enough quality to stay up. So I'm going to say just avoid relegation." Lineker delivered the final verdict, playfully adding: "I think they'll probably go back down and Micah will lose his lease." Farke's side will be planning to prove the former Premier League stars wrong with a strong start to the new season, hosting the final game of the opening weekend. Leeds face Everton at Elland Road next Monday with an 8pm kick-off.

Premiership boss considered leaving before takeover
Martindale had a central role at Livi even before taking over as manager in 2020 and has had to deal with a number of off-field issues involving previous owners and finances. Those problems were swept away when American Ford took majority control in May, just before Martindale led his team to promotion back to the William Hill Premiership with a play-off win over Ross County. Ford spoke on Monday about his plans to make Livi a 'disruptive' force in Scottish football and has put his faith in Martindale to lead the football side. 'I'll be honest, when we were sitting on Zoom calls in February, March, whenever it was, my head was 'I need to try and take the club back to the Premiership and maybe look elsewhere for my career',' the Lions manager said. 'And Calvin just came in and kind of rejuvenated me. Also, it rejuvenated the staff, it just gave everyone in the football club a massive lift because the previous years were difficult. 'Taking the club back to the Premiership with the old regime, it wouldn't have been ideal. It would have just been pushing water up a hill again. 'And then Calvin's come in, there's just been a real fresh impetus, everybody, staff, upstairs, downstairs and I think that comes from his enthusiasm, his passion, his desire. 'Before we got back to the Premiership, his words to me, I remember sitting in the hotel room in Ross County and a text message came through and goes, 'look Davie, don't think you have to take the club back to the Premiership. Read more: 'It would be great, but I'm here through the good and the bad times and I'll be here if you're in the Championship'. 'And maybe that helped me make better decisions in the dugout, so it's just been a breath of fresh air to be honest.' Martindale added: 'Once we knew that Calvin was fully on board and it was going to get done, I think I had a better night's sleep than I had for the last two or three years to be honest. 'You've now got an upstairs looking after the upstairs. 'Being able to come into work and be the first-team manager of Livingston Football Club, this is the first time proper I've had that opportunity as a football manager. 'So I'm now fully focused on the football side, where historically I wasn't. Historically I couldn't be, it was just impossible. 'I never wanted a lot of the stuff that fell on my desk, but I got it through default because I was the only one that was here at the football club at that point.' Ford stated that Martindale reminded him of himself with his passion and care for the club. Martindale said: 'I think he sees the resilience. We're robust, we'll fight, we'll kick, we'll scream and we'll claw our way back to the Premiership and that's kind of what we've done. 'Hopefully that's what he's meaning in terms of the personality traits, in terms of the will to win – never give up.'
