'We thought this was a concert. We paid $800. Sing," one attendee screamed, as another later shouted, "We thought this was a concert"The Tribeca Festival premiere of Miley Cyrus' new film Something Beautiful — which accompanies her recently-released album of the same name — was interrupted by hecklers who wanted to hear the star sing.
The actress and singer, 32, premiered her new project at the Beacon Theatre during the annual New York City event on Friday, June 6.
At one point, while she was onstage taking part in a Q&A with producer Panos Cosmatos and co-directors and co-writers Jacob Bixenman and Brendan Walter, audience members yelled at Cyrus to perform.
'We paid $800. Sing," one attendee screamed, as another later shouted, "We thought this was a concert.'
Cyrus ended up appeasing fans' requests to hear her voice, as she sang an impromptu a cappella rendition of 'The Climb' — her popular tune from 2009's Hannah Montana: The Movie.

Cyrus' supporters came to her defense after videos of the moment went viral on social media.
"She's so nice and patient. Those 'fans' are soooo rude and entitled. They should be ashamed," one user wrote, as another said, "She owes these people nothing. She handled this with such class and grace. Shame on them."

Added one other commenter: "Maybe do your research before attending then. She's not an object, you don't demand someone to sing 🫠."
A representative for both Cyrus and the Tribeca Festival did not immediately respond to PEOPLE's request for comment on Saturday, June 7.
Cyrus released Something Beautiful, her ninth studio album, on May 30. The accompanying visual film will be released in theaters later this month.

Monique Samuels Is Back On RHOP—And She's Bringing A Whole New Vibe
Source: Shannon Finney / Getty It's official: the Queen of clapbacks and binder receipts is making her return to The Real Housewives of Potomac (RHOP). Amid swirling rumors, People magazine confirmed that Monique Samuels will appear in a supporting role in Season 10 of the hit Bravo show. Pause for reaction – because Monique's return could be huge. (With the Grand Dame Karen Huger in rehab and Mia Thornton's departure for a 'new beginning,' Monique's return makes sense.) RELATED: 'RHOP' Star Monique Samuels Essential Oils Line Keep Her 'Focused And Clear' Now if you're a true RHOP stan, then you already know Monique's exit in 2020 was one of the most dramatic in Housewives history. From the heated on-camera altercation with Candiace Dillard Bassett (now off the show) to her emotional departure over how it all impacted her family, Monique left the franchise with both a bang and a boundary. 'When you cross certain lines, there's no going back. And for me, my family is that line,' she said back then via Instagram. But she's back and said to be in a different space. 'Monique's in a totally different place now, and fans will see that,' a source told People . 'She's excited to show who she is now — not as a wife, not as just a mom, but as a woman starting over and taking on life on her own terms.' Monique has been pretty busy since her RHOP exit – and fans know her life has dramatically changed. She divorced her husband, NFL player Chris Samuels, after 11 years of marriage, launched her Mila Eve Essentials business, held down a spot on a popular DMV radio show, and even had a stint on Love & Marriage: DC . So yes, Monique will have a lot to dish on. Her divorce and exit alone is a strong storyline for at least two episodes. Further, Love & Marriage DC gained popularity quickly. ( While it aired, producers positioned Monique as the ringleader in the show.) Monique has always resonated with Black women because she moves with class, complexity, and a deep desire to protect our peace. And after surviving one of the messiest exits in Bravo history, it's refreshing to see her stepping back into the spotlight her way. First Lady Of Fashion: Michelle Obama Announces New Book, ‘The Look'
Source: Tom Williams / Getty Michelle Obama served the people and served lewks. As FLOTUS, she set a new standard for first ladies as the first Black woman to hold the position. Now, she is walking us through how she did it in The Look. This coffee-table style book, co-written with her stylist Meredith Koop, will revisit the ways she amplified artists like Jason Wu and Prabal Gurung by wearing their designs. It will also highlight how she promoted affordable American retailers like White House Black Market and H&M as First Lady #44. Obama faced unprecedented scrutiny during her time as first lady of the United States. The first lady is an unofficial title but it is one that comes with heavy expectations. Her brand of Black beauty did not fit into the picture of what some people thought should represent our nation. She was criticized for wearing shorts on Air Force One and having the nerve to display her snatched arms. RELATED: Michelle Obama's Braids Made A Powerful Statement At The DNC The backlash she faced was dripping with racism. People couldn't fathom that there was not a dowdy, dour, individual seated at the side of the then head of state, President Barack Obama. Every strand of her hair on her head and spot of makeup on her face was up for debate by some. Source: Pool / Getty Others held Michelle Obama in high esteem. They mounted her pictures in barbershops, beauty salons, and funeral parlors. Seeing her appear elegant and poised in that position motivated them. Obama shared what inspired her to give her take on the time period in an Instagram post announcing the upcoming book release. 'During our family's time in the White House, the way I looked was constantly being dissected—what I wore, how my hair was styled. For a while now, I've been wanting to reclaim more of that story, to share it in my own way. I'm thankful to be at a stage in life where I feel comfortable expressing myself freely—wearing what I love and doing what feels true to me. And I'm excited to share some of what I've learned along the way,' she wrote. Obama previously penned the New York Times bestseller, Becoming . She has been sharing her experiences with the public on the IMO podcast she co-hosts with her brother, Craig Robinson. She pulls back the curtain on the other side of some of her most unforgettable moments in the public eye. Source: Drew Angerer / Getty 'My new book, The Look , comes out on November 4. It's a reflection on my lifelong journey with fashion, hair and beauty. Inside, you'll find some of the outfits that have meant the most to me, but more importantly, the moments that I lived through in them—big and small, personal and political, historic and ordinary—that were as memorable as the clothes themselves,' she continued. Obama selected gowns, suits, and sweater sets that sent a message with the help of a team. She is shining a light on their efforts with this new project. 'You'll also get to know the incredible team that supported me through it all and defined my look—my thoughtful stylist @MeredithKoop, my talented makeup artist @CarlRayMUA, and my wonderful hairstylists @YeneDamtew and @KitchenTalkwithNjeri. Each of them brings their own story, heart, and perspective to this journey,' she wrote. Stylists like Law Roach, Jason Bolden, and Wayman + Micah have helped change ideas about what elegance looks like in this country. These are the visionaries that expand palettes by pushing boundaries and subtly making change one piece of fabric at a time. ' The Look is about more than fashion. It's about confidence. It's about identity,' Obama continued writing in the caption. She ended by expressing her desired impact for the project. 'It's about the power of authenticity. My hope is that this book sparks conversation and reflection about the ways we see ourselves—and the way our society defines beauty.' You can pre-order The Look now here.
