Built on mutual trust and respect, their association reflects the kind of relationships that can form within a long-running show's family.
On the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, Asit, along with his wife Neela Modi, celebrated the festival with Disha Vakani and her family, including her two young daughters. The gathering was traditional yet intimate, marked by rituals, conversations, and shared memories. It offered a rare glimpse into their off-screen bond — one that has remained steady despite Disha's absence from the show in recent years.
Asit and Disha with their families
Since its debut in 2008, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah has become one of India's longest-running sitcoms, loved for its ensemble cast and its humorous yet socially relevant storytelling. From Dilip Joshi's endearing portrayal of Jethalal to the vibrant characters of Gokuldham Society, the show thrives on the chemistry and camaraderie among its actors. Disha Vakani's portrayal of Dayaben — with her trademark voice, expressions, and comic timing — became one of the most memorable aspects of the series.
Although her on-screen presence has been missed, her connection with the TMKOC team remains strong. Asit and Disha's continued association is a reminder that the bonds forged during years of working together often outlast professional commitments.
Their Raksha Bandhan celebration this year stands as a testament to that enduring friendship — a relationship built on shared history, mutual care, and a genuine sense of belonging.

Ankita Lokhande and Vicky Jain, known for celebrating festivals with family and close friends, kept up the tradition this year as well. The couple made the Raksha Bandhan celebration even more special by celebrating it with their Laughter Chefs family. Ankita took to her Instagram account to share beautiful photos from the celebration. The actress explained in the caption of her post, why the festival is so close to her heart, Ankita wrote, "For us, Raksha Bandhan isn't just about a thread, it's about the promise we've kept all our love and protect each other, no matter what."The Pavitra Rishta actress shared some lovely pictures from their 2025 Raksha Bandhan celebrations at home. Ankita added, "Here's a little glimpse into how we celebrated this beautiful bond that means the world to us with the people we call our home.. #happyrakshabandhan," Reem responded to the post with two red heart emojis. Ankita looked stunning in a blue saree, while Vicky complemented her look in a pink kurta paired with white pyjamas. Recently, in an exclusive chat with Times of India TV, Vicky spoke about Laughter Chefs and how everyone takes jokes sportingly, "On Laughter Chef, there are no boundaries like that. Everyone is free to say anything, and more importantly, they also listen and laugh along. Outside the show, people get offended easily or ignore the joke completely. But something magical happens once we enter that set—people transform. You just can't say anything hurtful to anyone. It's all in good spirit. Take Nia for example, people pull her leg all the time, but it's taken with laughter because that's the vibe of the show." Reem Sheikh: I'm the happiest to do the show with Jannat as she's my childhood bestie

Musician hangs self while on video call with wife in London
Surat: A 50-year-old musician from Surat died by suicide while on a video call with his wife, who is currently in London. The deceased, identified as Ojas Jariwala, reportedly told his wife he was missing her and asked her to return, moments before hanging himself from a ceiling fan. The incident took place around 1.30 am on Sunday in Jariwala's 12th-floor apartment at Sarjan Palace, located in the Chowk Bazar police station area. Police have registered a case of accidental death and placed his body in cold storage, awaiting the arrival of his wife. According to police, Jariwala, a keyboard player associated with a local music orchestra, was alone when the incident happened. Jariwala's two daughters aged 22-years and 12-years had gone to their maternal uncle's home in Bharuch to celebrate Rakshabandhan. His wife, Rekha alias Deviyani, is a singer. Both had applied for UK visas for a music event, but while Deviyani's visa was approved along with her brother's, Jariwala's application was rejected. On Sunday, during a late-night video call, Jariwala expressed his longing for her return. He then climbed onto a chair and went out of the camera's view, possibly after his phone slipped from position. Alarmed, his wife contacted an acquaintance living on the building's seventh floor, who broke into the locked flat and found Jariwala hanging. "We have kept the body in cold storage. His wife is on her way from the UK," a police official said, adding that both were well-known in the local music fraternity.
