Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah: Dilip Joshi, Asit Modi Had A 'Bahut Kharab Ladai' In Hong Kong
Last Updated: Last year, News18 Showsha also exclusively reported that Asit Modi and Dilip Joshi had a major argument on the set of TMKOC. Former Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah actress Jennifer Mistry has claimed that Dilip Joshi and producer Asit Kumaarr Modi had a heated argument in Hong Kong during one of the shoot trips for the show. Recently, the actress, who used to play the role of Mrs Roshan Sodhi in the popular sitcom, made fresh claims about Joshi and Modi's heated fight in public and stated that it had left everyone shocked. 'Jo Hong Kong me bahut kharab ladai hui thi. Pure public ke beech me jam ke chilla-chilla ke ladai hui thi. Dilip ji ne Asit ji ke collar pakad li thi. Bahut garma-garmi ho gayi thi. Ek time to extreme ho gaya tha. Matlab sab pareshan ho gaye the ke bhai tum producer ho, tum baar-baar kya jaate? To Dilip ji aur Asit ji ki isi cheez par bahas ho gayi thi," Jennifer told Filmygyan. Last year, News18 Showsha also exclusively reported that Asit Modi and Dilip Joshi had a major argument on the sets of TMKOC. We learnt that the incident took place in early August when the two got into a heated argument on set over permission to take a few days off. An insider told us that Dilip reached out to Asit regarding the request to take a few days off but the creator seemingly avoided the conversation. This left the actor offended. He almost had a physical altercation with him. 'It was the last day of Kush Shah's shoot. Dilip ji was waiting for Asit bhai to come and talk to him about his leaves. But when Asit bhai came, he directly went to meet Kush. This disappointed Dilip ji," a source close to the show's production told us. 'Dilip ji got very angry and the two got into a heated argument. Dilip ji even held Asit Modi's collar and threatened to leave the show. However, Asit bhai calmed him down. We don't know how to two sort their differences," the insider added. We had also reported that even during the Hong Kong trip shoot of the show, a massive fight erupted between Joshi and Modi, when Gurucharan Singh Sodhi helped them resolve their differences. Dilip Joshi Denies Any Conflict With Asit Modi However, Dilip Joshi later dismissed rumours of any conflict with Asit Modi, calling the report 'false". Expressing his disappointment, the actor stated that such baseless stories not only hurt him and Asit but also impact the millions of loyal fans of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, a show that holds a special place in his heart. 'I don't know who is behind spreading these stories, but I want to say this clearly: I'm here, I'm working every day with the same love and passion for the show, and I'm not going anywhere. I've been a part of this wonderful journey for so long, and I will continue to be a part of it. We all stand together in our commitment to make this show the best it can be… Let's focus on the positivity and joy that this show brings to so many. Thank you to our fans for always supporting us—it really means the world," he said. First Published: August 14, 2025, 16:10 IST Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah's Jennifer Mistry aka former Roshan reacts to Disha Vakani and Asit Kumar Modi's reunion; says, 'Disha looked uncomfortable'
Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah's Asit Kumar Modi and Disha Vakani recently made headlines as they shared pictures and videos of their reunion on Raksha Bandhan. The pics from the occasion went viral on social media, with fans speculating about Disha's return to the show. Jennifer Mistry aka former Roshan has now reacted to it. In an interview with Filmygyan, the actress revealed that it wasn't Disha who went to Asit's place but vice versa. She mentioned how she felt like Disha wasn't comfortable in the moment. Fans have also reacted to the reunion on social media. She shared, 'Khisyani billi khambha nooche — it's been 17 years, and till today not even a single photo of Disha tying rakhi to Asit ji has surfaced. This time, the whole thing was recorded on video. Now how will they clear this image? And they are saying that Disha went to Asit ji's house, but actually Disha didn't go to Asit ji's house — Asit ji and Neela ji went to Disha's house. It was clearly visible that Disha was very uncomfortable, and she was not smiling. ' Recently, Asit and Disha reunited and celebrated Raksha Bandhan together. While giving a glimpse of their reunion, he wrote, 'Some relationships make destiny… Not blood, it is a relation of the heart! #dishavakani Not just our 'Daya Bhabhi,' but my sister. For years, sharing laughter, memories, and affinity, this relationship has gone far beyond the screen. On this Rakhi, the same unbreakable trust and the same deep affinity were felt again… May this bond always remain with its sweetness and strength. ' Disha, who's loved and adored for her role of Dayaben in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, was last seen in the show in 2017. She took a maternity break during that time and hasn't returned ever since.

Disha ‘Dayaben' Vakani and Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah producer Asit Kumarr Modi reunite for a heartfelt Raksha Bandhan
While his efforts to bring back Disha Vakani as Dayaben in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah have yet to succeed, producer Asit Kumarr Modi shares a connection with the actress that goes far beyond the sets. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Built on mutual trust and respect, their association reflects the kind of relationships that can form within a long-running show's family. On the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, Asit, along with his wife Neela Modi, celebrated the festival with Disha Vakani and her family, including her two young daughters. The gathering was traditional yet intimate, marked by rituals, conversations, and shared memories. It offered a rare glimpse into their off-screen bond — one that has remained steady despite Disha's absence from the show in recent years. Asit and Disha with their families Since its debut in 2008, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah has become one of India's longest-running sitcoms, loved for its ensemble cast and its humorous yet socially relevant storytelling. From Dilip Joshi's endearing portrayal of Jethalal to the vibrant characters of Gokuldham Society, the show thrives on the chemistry and camaraderie among its actors. Disha Vakani's portrayal of Dayaben — with her trademark voice, expressions, and comic timing — became one of the most memorable aspects of the series. Although her on-screen presence has been missed, her connection with the TMKOC team remains strong. Asit and Disha's continued association is a reminder that the bonds forged during years of working together often outlast professional commitments. Their Raksha Bandhan celebration this year stands as a testament to that enduring friendship — a relationship built on shared history, mutual care, and a genuine sense of belonging.

In an exclusive conversation with Times of India TV, Daya Shankar shared how he landed the iconic role. He also opened up about his deep connection with the show's producer, Asit Kumarr Modi , revealing behind-the-scenes details and personal memories that many fans were unaware of. Recalling the time when he was first offered the show, Daya Shankar Pandey shared, "Before I started playing Inspector Chalu Pandey in TMKOC, I was already connected to the show, but not in a big way. I wasn't really part of the creative team. I was just helping as a friend. Since Asit and I have known each other for a long time, I would share ideas with him. Sometimes he used them, sometimes he didn't. At the same time, I was working on the show Shanidev in Baroda. Whenever I got free time, I would give some inputs for TMKOC. It was all going smoothly and in good spirit. Then one day, Asit told me about a new character, Inspector Chalu Pandey, and he offered me the role. I wasn't sure at first. I was focused on Shanidev and didn't feel like switching. But Asit told me, 'An actor should not stick to just one kind of role. This will be something fresh for you.' So I finally agreed." The Gangajal actor recalled the first day of his shooting, "I still remember our first shoot at Filmistan Studio. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Co-Founder of Google Brain, Andrew Ng, Recommends: "These 5 Books Will Turn Your Life Around" Blinkist: Andrew Ng's Reading List Undo We had so much fun filming the scenes, haste khelte pura episode nikal diya humne. I enjoy it a lot."
