Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah's Asit Kumar Modi and Disha Vakani recently made headlines as they shared pictures and videos of their reunion on Raksha Bandhan. The pics from the occasion went viral on social media, with fans speculating about Disha's return to the show.
Jennifer Mistry aka former Roshan has now reacted to it.
In an interview with Filmygyan, the actress revealed that it wasn't Disha who went to Asit's place but vice versa. She mentioned how she felt like Disha wasn't comfortable in the moment. Fans have also reacted to the reunion on social media.
She shared, 'Khisyani billi khambha nooche — it's been 17 years, and till today not even a single photo of Disha tying rakhi to Asit ji has surfaced.
This time, the whole thing was recorded on video. Now how will they clear this image? And they are saying that Disha went to Asit ji's house, but actually Disha didn't go to Asit ji's house — Asit ji and Neela ji went to Disha's house. It was clearly visible that Disha was very uncomfortable, and she was not smiling.
'
Recently, Asit and Disha reunited and celebrated Raksha Bandhan together. While giving a glimpse of their reunion, he wrote, 'Some relationships make destiny… Not blood, it is a relation of the heart! #dishavakani Not just our 'Daya Bhabhi,' but my sister. For years, sharing laughter, memories, and affinity, this relationship has gone far beyond the screen. On this Rakhi, the same unbreakable trust and the same deep affinity were felt again… May this bond always remain with its sweetness and strength.
'
Disha, who's loved and adored for her role of Dayaben in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, was last seen in the show in 2017. She took a maternity break during that time and hasn't returned ever since.

Ranveer Singh can play Tamraj Kilvish but not Shaktimaan, says Mukesh Khanna: ‘My fans told me don't let this addict play Shaktimaan'

For a while now, there have been reports about the revival of Shaktimaan—India's iconic superhero series that ruled TV screens in the late 90s and early 2000s. The role, immortalised by actor Mukesh Khanna, continues to hold nostalgic value for an entire generation. Recently, reports suggested that Bollywood star Ranveer Singh might be considered for the part. However, Mukesh has made it clear, once again, that he is firmly against the idea. During an interaction with Filmygyan, a fan asked Mukesh Khanna to accept Ranveer Singh as the new Shaktimaan. To this, the veteran actor responded, 'You like Ranveer Singh, and I like him too. We've sat and talked for three hours—he's a very energetic actor. But I told him to his face: you can play Tamraj Kilvish. His face has a mischievous positivity. If you make him Shaktimaan, people may enjoy it because he makes you dance, but the role needs someone mature enough.' Mukesh further explained that his resistance is not just personal, but also influenced by his fans. 'I don't just want an actor, I want the right face for Shaktimaan. If your real-life image is not good, it comes in the way of the role. Several people have warned me against Ranveer Singh. They say, 'Sir, please don't let this addict play Shaktimaan, he will ruin our childhood.'' A few years ago, reports of Shaktimaan being adapted into a feature film began circulating. Mukesh Khanna, who claims to hold the IPR for the character, admitted that he had given a studio the rights for seven years to make the film. Speaking to Galatta India, he explained: 'The IPR is still mine, but we have given them rights for seven years to make a film. I made them write that they won't change Shaktimaan's values. But I regret not making them write that the actor would be cast with my permission. They said they'll ask me, but the final call will be theirs.' In one of his YouTube videos, he recalled, 'That photoshoot was the start of my aversion towards him. Ranveer told me he didn't actually do it—that he was wearing underwear and later fired his promotional team. I believed him. But when I looked back, I remembered his statement to the media, where he said he was comfortable with it. I recall giving a statement: 'You may be comfortable, but we aren't.'' As of now, while a Shaktimaan movie may still be in the pipeline, the question of who will don the superhero's iconic costume remains a contentious issue.

Mukesh Khanna says Ranveer Singh can play Tamraj Kilvish: 'Many people tell me, yeh nashedi ko Shaktimaan mat banana'

Veteran actor Mukesh Khanna ruled the small screen in the 1990s with his iconic superhero role in Shaktimaan. So, when it was announced that the cult show would get a big-screen adaptation, fans were naturally excited. However, the film's casting is still under discussion, and reports suggest that the studio is keen on having Ranveer Singh as the lead. But Khanna has been vocal about not seeing Ranveer as the right choice. 'He can play the villain, not Shaktimaan' In a recent interview with Filmygyan, Mukesh Khanna addressed a fan who suggested that he should let Ranveer Singh take on the superhero's mantle. The veteran actor admitted to liking Ranveer's energy and talent but clarified that he doesn't see him as Shaktimaan. 'You can't change my mind. You like Ranveer Singh, and I like him too. We've sat and talked for three hours, and he's a very energetic actor. But I have openly said to his face, you can play Tamraj Kilvish (the story's villain). His face has a mischievous positivity.
