'It's not difficult to predict Nedbank Cup winner'

Orlando Pirates legend Mark Fish is backing his former club to beat Kaizer Chiefs in the Nedbank Cup final on Saturday afternoon.
The two Soweto giants clash for the third time this season this weekend at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.
Fish, who has played for the Buccaneers between 1993 and 1996, feels the pressure is on Chiefs to deliver having gone a decade without silverware.
'It's a cup final, so obviously it's a big game for both teams,' Fish told Showmax Premier League .
'However, if you look at the progress of the two teams, this game is massive for Chiefs, while for Pirates it's just another game.'
'Obviously the new coach has been there for (only) a season, but him and the players will understand that this is a very big game for them. It's a massive occasion,' Fish added.
Orlando Pirates have won five of their last five finals and it's easy to see why Mark Fish has backed them to beat Chiefs in the final.
'It's not difficult to predict a winner in my opinion. Pirates are the favourites and I expect them to get the job done and handle the expectations of a cup final,' Fish said.

Orlando Pirates legend sends a serious message to Sipho Mbule

Sipho Mbule, one of the most beloved players in the local game, has joined Orlando Pirates for next season's Betway Premiership term. As a measure to manage Mbule's reported ill-discipline towards alcohol, Sundowns loaned the 27-year-old to Sekhukhune United before the start of last season. Three months before the end of his loan spell, Sekhukhune released the Bethlehem-born star for continued unprofessional behaviour. Sundowns decided against keeping the elegant midfielder. Soon, his agent, Mike Makaab, offered Mbule to Kaizer Chiefs but with no success. In came Orlando Pirates with the surprising announcement of the player known as 'Master Chef.' Dylan Cox joins Orlando Pirates Sipho Mbule at Sekhukhune United. Image: SuperSport TV According to the Bucs legend, Mbule should simply take full responsibility for his career. 'At 26 or 27, we shouldn't be assigning anyone to look after you. You are an established player, you're an adult,' Mabalane told Soccer Laduma . 'He's not a youngster that just came onto the scene. How much does he want it? He must look after himself. Kaizer Chiefs to announce player from Portugal? 'He is past the stage in life where he should be looked after. He should look after himself. It's all up to him and no one else. We can't ask how do we look after him. Does he want it and how much does he want it? He's got another chance now. 'Not a lot of players get an opportunity to move from a big club to another big club. So, he's still got a bit of luck on his side and it's up to him. There is no question that he is talented and has a football brain. Some people are just born with it,' Mabalane explained. 'He's a quality player and needs to play consistently. He needs to find a home where he can settle and stamp his authority,' Mabalane continued. 'That's what's missing in his game. We've seen his potential and we know he's a good player, but now we need to see that on a more consistent basis. Maybe Pirates will give him that platform. 'There are footballers who work hard. They are good footballers because they work hard. And then you have gifted footballers. He is a gifted footballer. He does not really work hard to prove himself, but that doesn't mean he shouldn't work hard. He's got a football brain because things come easy to him. Now he must bring in a work ethic to complement his gift,' the former speedy winger concluded. Dylan Cox joins Orlando Pirates

Orlando Pirates' medical team has a new face. The Betway Premiership runners-up have hired a new biokineticist, Dylan Cox, from Sekhukhune United. The club known as the Sea Robbers finally announced Abdeslam Ouaddou as the head coach to replace the legendary Jose Riveiro, who has joined Al Ahly. To take care of players' injury prevention, treatment and physical health, the club head-hunted Cox from Babina Noko. 'Orlando Pirates have continued to boost their technical team with the addition of Sekhukhune United biokineticist Dylan Cox,' iDiski Times ' Sinethemba Makonco reported. 'According to the information that has been received by this publication, Cox will travel with the Buccaneers to their preseason tour which will take place in Spain in the coming days,' Makonco added. This is after the likes of Benedict Vilakazi and Aubrey Mothibi questioned the appointment. Orlando Pirates news: Next Club World Cup and eight new signings According to the former Orlando Pirates coach, Benson Mhlongo, the 46-year-old Moroccan coach has shown potential to succeed in Soweto. Additionally, Mhlongo believes that Dr Irvin Khoza is well-versed in finding new coaches for the club. 'Dr. Irvin Khoza has always managed to come up with surprises over the years. I trust his judgement; they've been in this game for a long time,' Mhlongo told KickOff . 'It's not for us to speculate. When they brought Jose Riveiro here, nobody knew about him, and look how well he did. Dr. Khoza has vast experience in bringing coaches here, so perhaps there's something the chairman saw in the new coach. 'It was relatively easy for the chairman to make a decision on the new coach since he was already in the country. Maybe they appreciated what he did for Marumo Gallants last season. Kaizer Chiefs sign striker: 39-goals, 6ft

Kaizer Chiefs are reportedly days away from confirming the signing of Bissau-born striker Flavio Silva. The Sporting Lisbon academy product has played all over the globe, but it was in Indonesia's Liga 1 when he established himself as a clinical striker, scoring 39 goals in his first three seasons. 'Kaizer Chiefs look poised to secure the signature of Flavio Silva, a Portuguese striker with roots in Guinea-Bissau,' a source revealed. 'Silva is a product of the Sporting CP youth academy, where he began his footballing journey. He is set to join Amakhosi from the Indonesian Premier League club Persebaya Surabaya, boasting an impressive scoring record. The 1.85m-tall striker made a striking debut in Southeast Asia in January 2023, netting five goals in a single match to lead Persik Kediri to a 5–2 victory over Persikabo 1973.' Kaizer Chiefs are heavily linked with Orlando Pirates duo Paseko Mako and Thabiso Monyane, even though Nasreddine Nabi is said to have no keenness on signing them. 'It's believed that the coach was not part of interest in those two players. Apparently, the coach was looking at three right backs, in Richards Bay defender Lwandile Mabuya, Cape Town Spurs' Lungelo Bhengu and Mhleli Mabuza who had trials at the club in May. And at left back the coach's main interest was Fawaaz Basadien (Stellies) and Mohamed Hussein from Simba SC in Tanzania,' a source said. 'But apparently the scouts and management are believed to have liked Monyane and Mako. So, we will see what will happen in the pre-season whether the coach will still go for his targets or they will settle for the two former Orlando Pirates players.'
