The recipe for dahi capsicum is pretty simple and straightforward. Start by chopping garlic, onion, and capsicum. Keep it aside. Now, add curd into a large matka and churn it using a churner. Next, heat ghee in a pan and add jeera, garlic, and onions. Saute for about a minute, then add capsicum, haldi, coriander powder, red chilli powder, besan, and salt. Mix well and add crushed peanuts along with curd and sugar. Give it a good mix and garnish with fresh coriander leaves. Your dahi capsicum sabzi is now ready to be savoured - enjoy!

Sekarbabu took part in the community feast organised at the Sri Parthasarathy Perumal Temple in Triplicane. Special pujas were also conducted in all temples. Ministers including Thangam Thennarasu, and K. N. Nehru participated in community feasts at the Vadapalani Andavar Temple and at the Ananthapadmanabhaswamy temple in Adyar respectively. As part of the Southern Railway celebrations at the Railway Stadium, Perambur, R.N. Singh, General Manager, Southern Railway hoisted the national flag. He also spoke about Southern Railway's contribution to the overall development of Indian Railways, including augmentation and modernisation of the rail network. The CSIR-Structural Engineering Research Centre (CSIR-SERC) and CSIR Madras Complex (CMC) celebrated the occasion, with N. Anandavalli, Director, CSIR-SERC and Coordinating Director, CMC, hoisting the national flag. The 79th Indian Independence Day was celebrated by the Defence Forces in Chennai. Service Heads led by Lieutenant General V Sreehari, AVSM, SC, SM, General Officer Commanding, Dakshin Bharat Area of Indian Army, Rear Admiral Satish Shenai, NM, Flag Officer Commanding ,TN and Puducherry Naval Area of Indian Anvy, Air Commodore Tapan Sharma, Air Officer Commanding, Indian Air Force Station Tambaram and representative of Inspector General Indian Coast Guard and veterans laid wreaths at the Victory War Memorial in the city. At the Tambaram Armed Reserve Headquarters, Abhin Dinesh Modak, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Tambaram City hoisted the national flag. The Commissioner also awarded top three police stations in the cleanliness and maintenance competition conducted within the Tambaram City Police limits. At the Regional Passport Office, Chennai, the National Flag was hoisted by the Regional Passport Officer S. Vijayakumar, at Indian Oil Bhavan in Chennai, M Sudhakar, Executive Director (Regional Services), Southern Region hoisted the national flag. Furthermore, at Chennai Petroleum Corporation Limited's (CPCL) Manali Refinery complex, H. Shankar, Managing Director, CPCL, hoisted the national flag. Uzhaippor Urimai Iyakkam members celebrated Independence Day in Ambattur. The group reiterated its opposition to the privatisation of conservancy work as well as its demand for permanent employment for sanitation workers. SLINEX: Indian naval ships in Colombo to take part in bilateral exercise

Agency: New Delhi, Aug 15 (PTI) Indian naval ships 'Rana' and 'Jyoti' have arrived at Colombo to participate in a bilateral exercise between the navies of India and Sri Lanka that aims at enhancing interoperability and maritime cooperation, officials said on Friday. Conceptualised in 2005, Sri Lanka-India Naval Exercise (SLINEX) is a bilateral exercise that has strengthened maritime cooperation between the two nations over two decades. INS Rana, a guided missile destroyer, and INS Jyoti, a fleet tanker, have arrived at Colombo to participate in the 12th edition of the exercise, running from August 14-18, a Navy spokesperson said. SLINEX aims at enhancing interoperability, maritime cooperation and exchanging of best practices while jointly undertaking multi-faceted maritime operations. The previous edition of SLINEX was conducted at Visakhapatnam, India from December 17-20 last year. The exercise will be conducted in two phases – the harbour phase in Colombo from August 14-16 followed by the sea phase from August 17-18. 'SLNS Gajabahu and Vijayabahu (both Advance Offshore Patrol Vessels) will be representing the Sri Lankan Navy, and Special Forces of both the navies will also feature in the exercise," the spokesperson said. During the harbour phase, professional interactions, subject matter expert exchange, sharing of best practices, cultural and social exchanges along with yoga sessions and sporting events are planned, which would further bolster the bonds of friendship and camaraderie between both the navies, the Indian Navy said. 'The naval drills planned during the sea phase include gunnery firing serials, communication protocols, navigation, seamanship evolutions, Visit Board Search and Seizure (VBSS) and fuelling at sea," it said. The SLINEX maritime exercise exemplifies the 'deep engagement between India and Sri Lanka, which has strengthened cooperation in the maritime domain in consonance with India's policy of Mutual and Holistic Advancement for Security and Growth Across Regions (MAHASAGAR), the spoksperson said.
