Miami Dolphins to face Washington Commanders on Nov. 16 in Madrid, NFL confirms
The Miami Dolphins will play the Washington Commanders in the first NFL regular-season game played in Spain on Nov. 16, the league confirmed.
Diario AS, a Spanish newspaper with 3.3 million followers on X, had reported that the Dolphins' opponent would be the Commanders.

It will feature Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and Commanders QB Jayden Daniels.
The NFL previously announced that the Dolphins would be hosts of the game, but had not confirmed the opponent or date.
The game will begin at 9:30 a.m. and be shown on NFL Network.
This will mark the Dolphins' first overseas game since their trip to Frankfurt, Germany, in 2023 that resulted in a 21-14 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.
Miami Dolphins international games history
This isn't the first time the Dolphins have been part of NFL international history. They played in the first regular-season game outside of North America on Oct. 28, 2007, when they lost 13-10 to the New York Giants at Wembley Stadium in London.

This season's game in Spain will be in the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, home of the Real Madrid soccer club. The stadium is named after Santiago Bernabeu, who became president of the club in 1943 and was determined to build a home worthy of the team and its growing support.

On Dec. 14, 1947, his dream became a reality when the stadium opened.
Now with a retractable roof, the stadium is undergoing massive renovations, just one of a series of such upgrades over the years. Its capacity is slightly less than 80,000 for soccer.

Among the events held at the stadium were the 1982 World Cup; multiple Champions League finals starting in 1957 and most recently in 2010; and multiple European Cup finals also beginning in 1957.
Pope John Paul II visited the stadium in 1982.
Concert acts appearing at the Bernabeu include Madrid's Julio Iglesias, Frank Sinatra, U2, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, the Rolling Stones and Taylor Swift.

This prompted Stewart to make a direct plea to the camera: 'People of Buffalo. Give him the fucking team. Save us.' Smith explained Trump's viewpoint on the matter. 'He was putting the word out that if this doesn't happen — he wanted to do it, and this should happen, I'm Donald Trump, I'm very popular and well known, I'm worth over a billion dollars, I should be able to purchase an NFL team if I want it,' Smith said. Chile will miss its third straight World Cup after losing 2-0 at Bolivia on Tuesday to remain last in South America's 10-team round-robin competition. Bolivia kept its hopes alive for an inter-continental playoff spot in a bid to reach the 2026 tournament in the United States, Mexico and Canada. The top six teams in South American qualifying will secure direct berths in the World Cup. Defending champion Argentina has already qualified. Chile's golden generation won two Copa America titles — in 2015 and '16 — but is out of contention for next summer's expanded 48-team tournament. 'Sad, I am feeling bad. Never lived something like this. We have to ask people to forgive us,' veteran Chile striker Alexis Sánchez said after the match. 'We have to keep working. There's change already, the golden generation is buried, I am the only one left."
