Kalaburagi's Jowar rotis, Bhadrachalam's millet biscuits, Balaghat's 'Didi canteen': PM Modi highlights women-led enterprises shaping New India
Addressing the 123rd episode of his monthly radio address, the Prime Minister highlighted that women labourers from Telangana's Bhadrachalam who used to toil in the fields to eke out their daily livelihood are now making products that reach markets from Hyderabad to London.
'Women from Bhadrachalam in Telangana are making biscuits from millets - 'Shree Anna', and these biscuits, named 'Bhadradri Millet Magic', are reaching from Hyderabad to London... They have also started making 'Giri Sanitary Pads' and produced 40,000 pads in just three months...'
PM Modi said that those pads were distributed to nearby schools and offices at a very low price. He noted that these women joined a Self-Help Group and received training for the same.
'The mantra of 'Women Led Development' is ready to create a new future for India. Our mothers, sisters, daughters are today lending a new direction not only for themselves but for the entire society. You will also feel good when you come to know about the success of the women of Bhadrachalam in Telangana. These women once used to work as labourers in the fields. They used to work hard all day for their livelihoods', PM Modi said during the Mann ki Baat program.
The Prime Minister also spoke about how women from Karantaka's Kalaburagi have created a 'jowar' roti brand. They produce over 3,000 rotis daily through a cooperative, which are now not limited to villages but are sold in Bengaluru and via online food platforms, he said.
'The achievement of the women of Kalaburgi in Karnataka is also excellent. They have made jowar roti a brand. In the cooperative that they have formed, more than 3000 rotis are being made every day. The aroma of these rotis is no longer limited to the village. A special counter has been opened in Bengaluru. Orders are coming over online food platforms. Kalaburgi roti is now reaching the kitchens of big cities. This has had a great impact on these women, their income is increasing', PM Modi said.
The Prime Minister also mentioned a story of 'self-confidence' and 'self-reliance' from Madhya Pradesh's Balaghat. Suma Uike who has received training in mushroom farming and animal husbandry joined the Self Help Group, has increased her income and also expanded her work.
'These stories from different states have different faces. But their glow is the same. This is the glow of self-confidence, of self-reliance. One such face is Suma Uike from Madhya Pradesh. Suma ji's efforts are very commendable. She took training in mushroom farming and animal husbandry by joining the Self Help Group in Katangi block of Balaghat district. Thus she found her the path to self-reliance. When Suma Uike's income increased, she also expanded her work. This journey that started with a tiny effort has now expanded to 'Didi Canteen' and 'Thermal Therapy Centre'. In every corner of the country, countless such women are changing their fate and that of the country,' PM Modi said.

UP government announces UK scholarship for five students annually

During the same event, he also paid floral tributes to the freedom fighter and warrior queen, Rani Avanti Bai Lodhi, on her birth anniversary. The Chief Minister highlighted that Vajpayee's six-decade-long political journey provided a new direction for Indian politics. He emphasised Vajpayee's commitment to India's core values and ideals, showcased a successful model of development within the country, and elevated India's honor and cultural identity on the global stage. Additionally, the Chief Minister informed that the state government is actively working on plans to install a statue of Veerangana Avanti Bai Lodhi. He noted that the government has consistently taken substantial steps to honor and recognize the power of women in Uttar Pradesh. The Chief Minister expressed that the sacrifice and struggles of this great warrior for Bharat Mata will remain an everlasting source of inspiration, and he offered his heartfelt obeisance to her. Delhi gets Rs 11,000 crore road push as PM Modi to inaugurate 2 highway projects today
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will on Sunday inaugurate two major highway projects in Delhi, built at a combined cost of nearly Rs 11,000 crore. The projects, the Delhi section of the Dwarka Expressway and a stretch of the Urban Extension Road-II (UER-II), are part of the central government's push to decongest the capital and speed up travel in the National Capital Modi is scheduled to attend the ceremony in Delhi's Rohini at 12.30 pm, where he will also review the two projects on site."These initiatives reflect Prime Minister Modi's vision of creating world-class infrastructure that enhances ease of living and ensures seamless mobility," the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) said in an official statement. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini and other BJP leaders are scheduled to attend the PROJECTSThe 10.1-km Delhi section of the Dwarka Expressway, developed at a cost of about Rs 5,360 crore, will provide multi-modal connectivity to Yashobhoomi, the Delhi Metro's Blue and Orange lines, the upcoming Bijwasan railway station, and the Dwarka cluster bus depot. 78 Years After 1947, PMO To Leave South Block For New Central Vista Address
New Delhi: The Prime Minister's Office (PMO), currently located in the South Block, is set to shift to Executive Enclave, a few hundred metres away, next month, sources in the government said. The Executive Enclave has been readied to house the PMO and other top government offices under the Central Vista project. Besides the PMO, the Executive Enclave has the Cabinet Secretariat, National Security Council Secretariat and a conferencing facility. The new PMO is also closer to the Prime Minister's residence. The need for the construction of new office buildings was primarily due to space constraints. The old buildings did not have modern facilities. It was felt that the Indian government needed new buildings in sync with its image as an emerging economic power. Earlier, the ministries of Home Affairs and Personnel were shifted to Kartavya Bhavan-3, which the Prime Minister inaugurated this month. In his address after inaugurating the building, the Prime Minister said India's administrative machinery had been operating from buildings constructed during the British colonial era. He spoke about the poor working conditions in these old buildings, which lack adequate space, lighting, and ventilation. He also said it is difficult to imagine how an important ministry like the Ministry of Home Affairs functioned for nearly 100 years from a single building with insufficient infrastructure. The new PMO is in the Executive Enclave (circled in black), close to the North and South blocks The new PMO, officials say, could get a new name in keeping with the trend of the Centre naming all Central Vista projects. According to reports, the new PMO could be named to reflect the spirit of sewa (service. The Prime Minister, in his first address to the PMO after taking charge in his third term, had said he wants the PMO to become a place for public service. "The PMO should be 'people's PMO'. It cannot be Modi's PMO," he said. With the shifting of major offices to new buildings, the North Block and South Block, the nerve centre of the Indian government for nearly eight decades, will be turned into a public museum called 'Yuge Yugeen Bharat Sangrahalaya'. According to the government, an agreement has been signed between National Museum and France Museums Development for cooperation in the development of the museum. "This project (is) aimed at showcasing India's cultural heritage - a celebration of timeless & eternal India to explore our proud past, illuminate the present & imagine the bright future," the government has said.
