Jake Paul vs Julio Cesar Chavez Jr LIVE RESULTS: Main event ON NOW as Problem Child returns against Mexican legend

The Sun29-06-2025
JAKE PAUL is facing Julio Cesar Chavez Jr RIGHT NOW as the main event of the evening has arrived in California!
The Problem Child was under a lot of scrutiny when he last competitively stepped foot in the ring.
Paul, 28, outpointed 58-year-old legendary boxer Mike Tyson for the whole of Netflix to see, and it was a decision that ended in unanimous boos around the AT&T stadium.
But ultimately, it was a huge win for Paul, and he'll be hoping to extend his 11-1 professional record when he faces the son of icon, Julio Cesar Chavez.
Gilberto 'Zurdo' Ramirez beat Yuriel Dorticos to retain the WBA and WBO cruiserweight titles, while Floyd Schofield scored a statement first round KO against Tevin Farmer.

Zurdo wants Opetaia
He calls out IBF champ Jai Opetaia for a unification bout.
Zurdo says: "That's the fight that I want. I'm the king."

Ramirez vs Dorticos
The judges score the bout 115-112 (x2) and 117-110... and STILL the unified WBA and WBO cruiserweight champion... Gliberto Ramirez.
Laughable scorecards there, even with the point off. Zurdo did come back strong but I feel the challenger has been hard done by there.

Ramirez vs Dorticos – Round 12
Massive counter shot bounces off Zurdo's chin - great shot.
Dorticos pushes the pace to the final bell and possibly may have done enough to take that.
It will be tight on the cards, Dorticos started well, had a point off while Zurdo came back into it but the challenger may have pulled it off in the final two rounds.
Let's see if the champ gets the classic favourable decision.

Ramirez vs Dorticos – Round 11
Dorticos is warned AGAIN for low-blows. This time gets away with it.
It's back and forth action, nip and tuck with one round to go.
Dorticos raced to an early lead but Zurdo has fought back and with the point off, it's all to play for.

Ramirez vs Dorticos – Round 10
Point deducted from Dorticos for low-blows! Now the fight is up in the air.
This changes things.
Dorticos ups the work rate towards the end of the round but with two to go his early lead is under threat.

Ramirez vs Dorticos – Round 9
Lovely exchanges on the inside with Ramirez getting the better of it.
The pair go blow for blow now on the inside, Ramirez starting to land with the left hand.
Ramirez slips on the canvas and the crowd get very excited - but nothing to see here.

Ramirez vs Dorticos – Round 8
Another left hand snaps Dorticos' head back, Ramirez starting to come on stronger now.
Ramirez letting his hands go a little more now, maybe Dorticos is starting to tire.
Better rounds for the champion, who maybe has come into the fight just in time.

Ramirez vs Dorticos – Round 7
Big left hand from Zurdo lands and the two exchange blows on the inside.
Better work from Ramirez but he's been far too economical with his combinations.
Good shot at the end likely wins him the round but it's been a rare sight of success.

Ramirez vs Dorticos – Round 6
Lovely one-two combination from Dorticos to open the round.
Zurdo pushes forward but it's Dorticos who is landing the better shots.
He could be on the way to a massive upset here.
52 minutes ago By Jack Figg
Ramirez vs Dorticos – Round 5
Zurdo pushing the pace but not landing all that much.
Dorticos is controlling the action at range and frustrating the champion.
Heading into six rounds and the champion needs to get going.

Ramirez vs Dorticos – Round 4
Huge left hand from Zurdo on the inside, more like it from the champion.
Better round for Ramirez who started to let his hands go a little.
Dorticos needs to get behind that jab again.

Big one up next
We've got one more fight until the main event with Gilberto Ramirez defending his WBA and WBO titles against Yuriel Dorticos!
This is expected to be a thriller with Zurdo at the top of his game and Cuban Dorticos a KO specialist.
We can't wait for this one - and then Jake Paul and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr will be coming to the ring after that.

IT'S ALL OVER!
Big combination from Curiel with Rodriquez on the ropes and that's all she wrote!
Took a while for Curiel to get going but when he did - it was all she wrote.
Rodriguez sporting a bruised face, probably the right call from the referee.
Today, 03:26 By Jack Figg
Curiel vs Rodriguez – Round 4
Lovely combination from Curiel, from head to body but Rodriguez covers up nice.
Down goes Rodriguez after a right hook from Curiel - what a shot!

Jags WR/CB Travis Hunter misses practice with injury

August 15 - Jacksonville Jaguars rookie Travis Hunter is dealing with an upper-body injury and could miss Sunday's preseason game at New Orleans, coach Liam Coen said Friday. Hunter, the No. 2 overall pick who is playing both cornerback and wide receiver, did not practice Thursday and may sit out against the Saints as a precaution. Hunter won the 2024 Heisman Trophy while starring on both sides of the ball at Colorado, but this injury will no doubt restart the debate about how sustainable two-way play is at the NFL level. Jacksonville's most recent depth chart released on Tuesday has Hunter listed as a No. 1 receiver, along with Brian Thomas Jr. and Dyami Brown. He is listed on the second team at cornerback behind starters Tyson Campbell and Jourdan Lewis. Hunter, 22, caught both of his targets for 9 yards in the Jags' 31-25 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers in last Saturday's preseason opener. He played 10 snaps on offense and eight on defense. Following Sunday's game at New Orleans, the Jaguars finish the preseason at Miami on Aug. 23. They kick off the regular season at home against the Carolina Panthers on Sept. 7. --Field Level Media

WNBA fans go into meltdown over Caitlin Clark's NBA2K video game rating

Caitlin Clark remains injured for the Indiana Fever, but that isn't stopping WNBA fans from making her the center of the league's latest controversy. This time the Indiana Fever star's rating on the popular video game NBA2K is at issue. At a 96 out of 99, Clark ranks fourth in the game behind veterans such as Minnesota 's Napheesa Collier (98), Las Vegas ' A'Ja Wilson and New York's Breanna Stewart. And depending on who's being asked, that 96 rating is either laughably too high or laughably too low for the reigning Rookie of the Year. 'None of these should be in the 90s except Clark,' one fan wrote on X. Many felt Clark should have graced the cover of the game, which instead has Chicago's Angel Reese and reigning NBA MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander out front. But for all of her fans, many WNBA devotees couldn't help but acknowledge her struggles in 2025. Limited to just 13 games by groin problems, Clark's scoring is now to just 16.5 points a game and she's shooting under 28 percent from the field — both well below her rookie numbers. As a result, many respondents felt that Clark's 96 rating was too high. 'Y'all got Clark just one point behind Stewie and A'ja. What are we doing here,' one critic wrote, referring to two dominant league stars who have multiple MVP awards and WNBA titles. 'Clark being so high while having a horrible year and being hurt most of it is diabolical,' another wrote.. 'Subtract at least 10 from her overall.' Several fans took issue with New York guard and Kobe Bryant pupil Sabrina Ionescu getting a slightly lower rating than Clark, who trails the former Oregon star in nearly every meaningful category, including championships. Despite Clark's injury problems, the Fever are slightly improved this season at 18-15 and are challenging for a second straight playoff spot. She will miss her 12th straight game Friday night when the Fever host the Washington Mystics. But Clark's rating wasn't the only source of controversy for the 2K brand. Reese's 90 overall rating also rankled some of her critics. 'Angel Reese being a 90 is one of the craziest ratings I've ever seen in a sports video game,' wrote one critic. Reese currently leads the league in rebounding at 12.6 per game. Wilson, her nearest competitor, is averaging 9.8 per game.

Who are Moses Itauma's parents? The boxing prodigy's heritage revealed

MOSES ITAUMA is set to take on heavyweight veteran Dillian Whyte this weekend - but who are the parents behind Britain's boxing sensation? The 20-year-old knockout artist has been fast-tracked to face former world title challenger Whyte in Saudi Arabia. Now, fans want to know more about the family roots that shaped this rising star. Itauma's incredible story spans two continents, and his unique Nigerian-Slovakian heritage is clearly paying off in the ring. Moses Itauma's Nigerian father Moses Itauma's paternal heritage traces back to Nigeria, connecting him to one of Africa 's most populous and culturally rich nations. His Nigerian father represents the African side of his multicultural identity, though specific details about his father's name and background remain relatively private. Nigeria has a strong tradition in combat sports, particularly boxing, with legendary fighters like Dick Tiger and, more recently, Anthony Joshua (who also has Nigerian heritage) making their mark on the heavyweight division. 4 Eastern European roots Moses Itauma was born in his mother's hometown of Kezmarok, Slovakia, in December 2004. His Slovakian mother provided the European foundation for his early life, giving him dual cultural perspectives from birth. Slovakia, a landlocked country in Central Europe, has its own proud sporting traditions. His mother's influence appears to have been significant in his early development, particularly given that he was born in her homeland. The family's decision to later move to Britain shows the international perspective that has shaped Moses's worldview from a young age. From Slovakia to Kent The Itauma family didn't stay in Slovakia for long after Moses's birth, relocating to Chatham in Kent, England, where Moses was raised. This move proved pivotal in shaping his boxing career and British identity. Chatham, located in Medway, became the backdrop for Moses's formative years. The town's working-class environment and proximity to London's boxing scene provided the perfect breeding ground for a future heavyweight contender. The family's decision to settle in Britain has allowed Moses to represent the UK professionally while maintaining his diverse cultural heritage. This British upbringing, combined with his dual African-European ancestry, has created a truly international fighter who embodies modern Britain's multicultural identity. 4 The Itauma boxing dynasty Moses isn't the only boxer in the family. He's the younger brother of light-heavyweight fighter Karol Itauma, suggesting that boxing talent runs deep in the family. This sibling connection indicates that their parents have been instrumental in supporting both sons' boxing ambitions. Having an older brother already established in professional boxing has likely provided Moses with valuable insights and guidance. The older Itauma also won a gold medal at the Youth Olympics in 2018, although he hasn't fought since March 2024. Karol's experience in the light-heavyweight division has probably helped Moses navigate the complexities of professional boxing from an early age. The fact that both brothers have pursued boxing careers speaks to their parents' supportive approach to their children's sporting ambitions. Managing two professional boxers requires significant family commitment and sacrifice. 4 Privacy and family values Despite Moses's rising profile in boxing, his family has maintained a relatively low public profile. His parents haven't sought the spotlight, preferring to support their son's career from behind the scenes rather than becoming media personalities themselves. This approach suggests strong family values and a focus on Moses's development as both a fighter and a person. The family's privacy allows Moses to develop his career without additional pressure on his parents or family members. Their supportive but discreet approach has likely contributed to Moses's grounded personality and professional approach to boxing. Having stable family support without media intrusion creates an ideal environment for a young fighter's development. A foundation for future success As Moses Itauma prepares for his high-profile bout with Dillian Whyte, his parents' influence becomes even more significant. The multicultural foundation they've provided, combined with their support for his boxing ambitions, has created the perfect environment for a future champion. His Nigerian-Slovakian heritage, British upbringing, and family support system have combined to produce one of boxing's most promising young talents. With his parents' continued guidance, on the heavyweight division while representing the best of modern Britain. When is Itauma vs Whyte and how can I watch it?
