Young Scooter Dies On 39th Birthday, Hip-Hop Community Reacts
Authorities stated that Scooter injured his leg while attempting to jump a fence. He was later transported to Grady Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The exact cause of death remains undisclosed, pending an autopsy conducted on Saturday (March 29), but during a press conference, Lieutenant Andrew Smith provided details on the incident. 'Once officers arrived, they knocked on the door. A male opened the door and immediately shut the door on the officers. During [the officers'] process of [then] establishing the perimeter, two males fled out of the rear of the house,' he said.
He further explained, 'One male returned back into the house. The other male jumped two fences as he was fleeing. When officers located him on the other side of the fence, he appeared to have suffered an injury to his leg. Officers rendered aid, and he was transported to Grady Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.'
He also clarified that Scooter's injury 'was sustained not via the officers on scene' but occurred while he 'was fleeing.'
As news of his untimely death spread, an outpouring of tributes from the Hip-Hop community highlighted Scooter's deep influence on Atlanta's rap culture. Playboi Carti took to Instagram, posting a photo of Scooter with the caption, 'I GREW UP ON DIS SH*T SMH RIP,' as Quavo shared heartbreak emojis on X (formerly Twitter) alongside the words, 'Ion understand.'

Is Deadpool returning in 'Avengers: Doomsday'? Ryan Reynolds post sparks speculation
Is the Merc with a Mouth finally joining Earth's Mightiest Heroes? A cryptic new Instagram post from Ryan Reynolds has fans speculating that the actor could be returning as Deadpool in "Avengers: Doomsday." The post, shared on Reynolds' personal Instagram on Aug. 12, shows a graffiti version of the Avengers logo. He did not include any caption. The logo was previously seen on a flag in 2024's "Deadpool & Wolverine" during a section of the movie where Reynolds' Deadpool and Hugh Jackman's Wolverine are captured. The photo that Reynolds shared appears to have been taken from a July 2024 Reddit post, where a user posted pictures of several custom Marvel shirts in anticipation of "Deadpool & Wolverine." However, Reynolds' posting of the Avengers logo without comment, as filming on "Avengers: Doomsday" is underway, fueled speculation that he could be preparing to announce his involvement in the movie. "If you are saying what I think you're saying, I'm actually gonna scream," one comment on the post read. Reynolds was notably missing from the lengthy "Avengers: Doomsday" cast list that Marvel unveiled in March during an hours-long live stream, where every individual star's name was revealed one at a time. But after the stream ended, Marvel hinted that it was not the complete cast list – and that other actors could be joining the movie. "There's always room for more," the studio teased. Reynolds' foul-mouthed Marvel hero was last seen in "Deadpool & Wolverine," which brought him to the Marvel Cinematic Universe for the first time. But while the movie was a massive hit, no sequel has been announced, and it hasn't been confirmed where or when fans will see Deadpool next. During a Variety Actors on Actors segment with Andrew Garfield in December, Reynolds said he would like to see Deadpool function more as a supporting character going forward. "If he comes back, it's going to be in someone's else's movie," he said. Reynolds also told Time magazine in April that he was "writing a little something right now that is an ensemble" involving Deadpool, but did not reveal details. The announced cast list for "Avengers: Doomsday" does include one star from "Deadpool & Wolverine:" Channing Tatum, who made his debut as Gambit in the 2024 "Deadpool" film. Other stars confirmed for the next "Avengers" include Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Paul Rudd, Simu Liu, Florence Pugh and Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom.

Are Swifties ... ready for it?
Swifties, rejoice for a new album! Trump teases a change in federal drug policy. And a new parents' right issue on education is emerging. 👋 Hi! Rebecca Morin here. It's time for Tuesday's news! But first: A bird? A plane? A fireball! ☄️ A meteorite "crash landed" on a home in Georgia, and experts say it's older than Earth itself. The start of a new era The color is orange. The era is: "The Life of a Showgirl." Taylor Swift confirmed her new album at 12:12 a.m. ET on Tuesday on a teaser for the "New Heights" podcast, a podcast hosted by Travis and Jason Kelce. The singer pulled out a blurred-out album cover for her new project, which would be her 12th album. Fans can preorder the album on but no release date has been shared yet. The announcement was teased on Monday by Taylor Nation, the pop superstar's in-house marketing team. In an Instagram post, the account posted: "Thinking about when she said 'See you next era…' ❤️🔥" with a carousel of 12 photos. 🎵 The easter eggs hinting at TS12. A storm in the Atlantic Tropical Storm Erin is expected to pick up strength over the next couple of days, becoming a full-fledged hurricane, the National Hurricane Center said. In a Tuesday morning advisory, the hurricane center said Erin was located about 690 miles west of the Cabo Verde Islands with maximum sustained winds near 45 mph. Forecasters said Erin is moving west at 22 mph, and this motion is expected to continue for the next several days. But where will it hit? Truth is, it's too early to know what impact Erin could have on the Caribbean or the eastern United States. 🌧️ See the likely path the storm could take. Real quick Buying or selling a car? In the coming weeks, marijuana could be considered a less dangerous drug, at least as far as the federal government is concerned. President Donald Trump on Monday said the government is considering reclassifying marijuana, which would remove it from the list of the most dangerous and addictive substances. Moves to reschedule the drug − which would not make it legal under federal law − began during the Biden administration. Experts say the change could be good for research and medicine, but could also be perceived as a 'safety endorsement" at a time when rates of heavy cannabis use are climbing. 👉 What to know about the proposed change. The next education issue Summer is coming to an end, and it's back-to-school time for many families. But for Jennifer Lilintahl, who decided to delay her daughter's entry into kindergarten last year, it's been a challenge. When Lilintahl tried to enroll her 6-year-old daughter in kindergarten, DC Public Schools officials said she'd have to enter first grade due to her age. Delaying kindergarten for one year, a process known as 'redshirting,' is one of the latest issues for the growing parents' rights movement, which has been dominated by public school parents who want more control over what their children learn and where they go to school. Some argue their kids need an additional year in prekindergarten. But others say it creates an unfair advantage over those who don't have the resources to delay schooling. 👉 See where 'redshirting' is allowed. Universal Signs Trivia Quiz — BuzzFeed Quizzes
Admit all gone on a date with someone super cute from class, only to find out their mom still does their laundry and the only thing they can 'cook' is Kraft Dinner. Turns out, adulting is kind of sexy. We all want to be someone who can take care of ourselves — and, ideally, find someone we don't have to literally parent. Because if you're still putting the noodles in before the water might just be a red flag. So if you're a grown-ass adult who's been doing laundry since age 10, or just trying to escape your helicopter parents, let's see how well you know these universal symbols. You know, the kind everyone should recognize…for the good of society. Let's go... Tell us how you did in the comments. Want a fun signage fact? (Words I truly never thought I'd say.) Even though signs and symbols can vary by country, region, or city, there's actually an international organization — the ISO — that helps standardize them. Because let's be real: It'd be wildly inconvenient (and unsafe!) if every country had a different symbol for 'stop' or 'flammable.' Staying alive should be a universal language — and honestly, I'm very on board with that. And for more fun quizzes and content, make sure you follow BuzzFeed Canada on TikTok and Instagram!
