Two people injured in Cortlandville Crash
CORTLANDVILLE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — Two people are recovering from their injuries after a two-vehicle crash this afternoon.
Just after 4 p.m., the sheriff's office responded to the crash at the intersection of State Route 13 and Bennie Road in the town of Cortlandville.
An investigation found one of the cars was making a left onto Bennie Road and failed to yield to an oncoming vehicle traveling north on State Route 13.
All of the people involved were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.

Elderly man trapped up to neck in silo
A man has become trapped after falling into a silo filled with urea fertiliser in regional Queensland. Emergency services were called to a property on Roma Taroom Rd in Eurombah, between the Shire of Banana and Western Downs in regional Queensland, about 1.250pm Sunday after reports a man fell into a silo. A Queensland Fire Department (QFD) spokesman told NewsWire a family member raised the alarm after the man became trapped up to his neck after falling into the silo. The silo, which was on private property, is believed to be filled with is a highly concentrated nitrogen fertiliser, commonly used by farmers. A Queensland Ambulance spokesman told NewsWire crews were on the scene to rescue the man, believed to be in his 80s. Three rescue crews are on the scene, who have been specially trained in working in confined spaces. The spokesman told NewsWire the man has been strapped into a harness, though the rescue operation is 'still in action'. More to come

Former NFL player Kelvin Joseph facing charges after crash that killed motorcyclist
DALLAS — Former NFL player Kelvin Joseph is facing charges for his involvement in a crash that killed a female motorcyclist on a Dallas-area freeway, The Dallas Morning News reported. Police in the Dallas suburb of Richardson said on social media that Joseph, who has been playing in the United Football League this spring, called police in Plano, another Dallas suburb, to report his involvement in the predawn crash Saturday. The 25-year-old Joseph, who was driving a BMW, was arrested on charges of driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, and collision involving personal injury or death, a second-degree felony. Police said 27-year-old Cody Morris of Plano was killed in the crash. Joseph was drafted by the Cowboys in 2021 and spent two seasons with them before he was traded to Miami. He also played briefly for Seattle and Indianapolis. The cornerback has been playing for the DC Defenders, who were set to play in a UFL conference championship game Sunday. The UFL said in a statement sent to Dallas TV station WFAA that it was aware of Joseph's arrest, but declined further comment. During the 2022 offseason with the Cowboys, Joseph was the passenger in an SUV from which two people fired shots into a group of men in Dallas, fatally striking one of the men in the head. Police concluded Joseph wasn't the shooter, and the NFL didn't suspend him. An attorney who previously represented Joseph didn't return a phone call from The Dallas Morning News. BROOKSVILLE, Fla. (WFLA) — A fire broke out in a Brooksville residence Saturday afternoon after lithium-ion batteries were left charging inside the home. Hernando County Fire Rescue responded to the 800 block of Live Oak Drive to find smoke billowing out from the front door. Two people were inside the home at the time but escaped safely with no injuries. As an important safety reminder, continuously charging lithium-ion batteries can cause the battery to fail, which creates a very deadly gas release that can not only incapacitate people but also overheat and spontaneously catch fire.
