The city of Philadelphia erupted in celebration, albeit amid calls for safety in the wake of a recent tragedy, after the Eagles toppled the mighty Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl 59, 40-22.
It was a banner night for the Eagles on both sides of the ball, putting the Chiefs' quarterback Patrick Mahomes on his back six times and torching the schemes of vaunted defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo for nearly 350 yards. Kansas City was listless throughout the game, being shut out for nearly three quarters and potentially suffering from the curse of President Donald Trump picking them to win.
Philadelphia's mayor Cherelle Parker warned residents ahead of the game not to climb structures if the Eagles won after an 18-year-old Temple University student died after falling from a pole while celebrating the team's victory in the NFC Championship game − according to WTXF.
"Just don't climb anything, that's the Golden Rule," Parker said at a press conference.

Donna and Jason will be joined by a number of reality TV stars from other programs along with a group of celebrities including Michael Rapoport and Tara Lipinksi. "The Traitors" splits contestants up into two categories of "Faithfuls" and "Traitors." The cast must decipher which among them are the "Traitors," picking a player each night to "murder." While Donna and Jason embark on this exciting new venture, Travis remains at home preparing for his final season. UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. (WTAJ) – Bald Eagle Area's softball team entered the PIAA Class 3A Championship Game on Friday hoping for revenge against Pine Grove Area, who handed the Eagles a loss in the title game back in 2019. However, the Cardinals got the best of them once again, winning 4-3 in the 13th inning at Penn State's Beard Field at Nittany Lion Softball Park. Addisyn Burns gave Bald Eagle Area an early lead in the third inning with a two-run double. Steelers unfazed by Watt's absence The Eagles saw a strong pitching performance from Sierra Albright, but errors allowed Pine Grove Area to take control of the game early on. In the bottom of the third inning, Callee Leffler hit a triple into right field but was able to score the Cardinals' first run of the game due to a throwing error. In the fourth inning, Jamie Dinger tied the game at two with an RBI double but would advance to third base on another error. Pine Grove Area capitalized on that as Tailyn Bohr would give them the lead with an RBI single. Trailing 3-2 in the seventh inning, Bald Eagle Area played small ball, using a sacrifice bunt and sacrifice fly to help force the game into extra innings. After each team had opportunities to win it in extras, Dinger was the hero in the 13th inning, winning the game with a bases loaded sacrifice fly. The Washington Commanders, who surprisingly made it to the NFC Championship last year, seem to be having some troubles before the year even starts. Star wide receiver Terry McLaurin has stated that he is unhappy about not yet receiving an extension, and he has yet to attend Commanders' minicamp. He was a big part of the team's success last year, but Washington seems to have some doubts about giving the 29-year-old receiver another extension. Advertisement The Commanders already got Deebo Samuel for almost nothing, and with a deep receiver room already, Washington could look to move off of him for some help on the other side of the ball. The Commanders drafted Jaylin Lane from Virginia Tech, signed Michael Gallup and K.J. Osborn, and they have a lot of faith in Luke McCaffrey going into his second year. The Denver Broncos need a star wide receiver for Bo Nix to throw to, and if the Commanders can not work out a deal with McLaurin, then he would be the perfect fit in Denver. McLaurin can make plays down the field, he has elite adjustment ability to make athletic catches, and is a reliable target. The trade would be Courtland Sutton, Alex Singleton, and John Franklin-Myers for Terry McLaurin and a fifth-round pick. The Commanders would get defensive line help and linebacker help while also getting a 1,000-yard receiver to replace McLaurin. Sutton could be a useful number two behind Samuel, and he would also be the only tall jump ball receiver that the team has been missing. The Commanders giving up McLaurin is not ideal, but getting that kind of return would make it worth it. They would get two defensive starters and a really good wide receiver. The Commanders let up 55 points in the NFC Championship to the Philadelphia Eagles last season and need as many defensive talents as they can. Alex Singleton was really good in his first two years in Denver, but he only played in three games last season, and the Broncos proved they can still have an elite defense without him. Singleton is 31 years old, coming off a torn ACL, so now is the perfect time to give him up. Advertisement Franklin-Myers was another productive player for Denver, but he was not good enough to be untouchable in a trade for McLaurin, and it would give Broncos rookie Sai'vion Jones to get thrown in the fire his rookie season. This could give Jones early experience and let the Broncos see if he shows any signs of being a star in this league. Sutton would get replaced by McLaurin, who is the same age but overall just a better receiver. McLaurin has been a 1,000-yard receiver in five of his six seasons; the only season where he did not reach this mark was his rookie year, where he had 919 yards in 14 games. McLaurin has been extremely consistent throughout his career and had one of his best seasons ever last year. He had 82 catches for 1,096 yards and 13 touchdowns, and 14 catches for 227 yards and three touchdowns in the playoffs. He could be vital to the growth of Bo Nix and be the playmaker the Broncos are missing. The Broncos recently signed J.K. Dobbins, drafted RJ Harvey, and signed Evan Engram during the offseason. The only offensive skill position they are missing a game changer at is wide receiver. The Commanders still have time to offer McLaurin an extension that both sides can agree on, but with his frustration growing, the two sides could end up in a stalemate. In that case, the Broncos need to make a deal for McLaurin as soon as possible.
