Trainer Enver Jusufovic joked he didn't like Adelaide water but the City of Churches would be New York Lustre's next stop after posting her fifth straight win on Saturday.
New York Lustre booked a shot at a stakes race after she overcame the difficult conditions to maintain her winning run at her first appearance since a Sandown success on February 1.

The rising six-year-old relished a class drop when winning the FRS FIRE Services Handicap (1000m) but is set to jump to Group 3 level in the Proud Miss Stakes (1200m) on May 10.
'She'll go to Adelaide I believe,' Jusufovic said.
'(Owner) Mike Howard is a breeder and an investor in this industry so to get a bit of black type with her is very important for his cause and his business.
'We might venture over there.
'I don't really like the water over there, I prefer to stay here but if there's a bit of give in the track, it will be good.'
Carleen Hefel took over from Jamie Melham, who had ridden New York Lustre in two Cranbourne jumpouts leading up to her racing return, but had little to worry about from the halfway point of the $130,000 race.
New York Lustre comfortably held her opposition in the straight before notching her fifth win from eight starts by three-quarters of a length.
'She was a bit tardy out of the barriers and can be a bit restless in there but the way the race panned out, Carleen got her into a really good position,' Jusufovic said.
'I thought probably from the 600 onwards, she was probably the one to beat.
'Hopefully I get a good report from Carleen and there's no issue and she pulls up well.'
The Manhattan Rain mare has not been beaten since finishing second in a maiden at Benalla in January last year.
Jusufovic said New York Lustre had taken time to develop but added he was unsure where her ability would take the sprinter.
New York Lustre is one of two mares in Jusufovic's stable to be on five-win streaks along with Proved, whom he sent for a spell after her win at Sandown on March 25.
'She's taken a long time,' Jusufovic said.
'She's been in the stable for a few preps and had no idea about the game plan.
'I don't know what the ceiling is with this mare at the moment.
'To string together five in a row, her and another horse have done it this prep, but I'm hoping for bigger and better things with her.'
■ ■ ■ ■ ■ Elouyou's win an easy watch for nervous trainer
Pre-race jitters gave way to an easy watch for young trainer Scott Cameron at The Valley.
Cameron carried the hopes of favourite backers, who had supported his charge Elouyou to score again at The Valley in Saturday's Manhari Handicap (1200m).
Elouyou won at $12 at his previous run at the track on March 22 but jumped as a well-backed $1.70 favourite as many punters expected the son of So You Think to lead the small field early.
The race didn't pan out that way with early pressure on his inside causing jockey Fred Kersley to ease Elouyou to race behind the leaders, but the result was the same.
Elouyou had the leaders covered on the home turn before strolling to an easy win, taking his impressive record to five wins and six minor placings from 12 starts.
'Coming into it, it was a bit nerve-racking having a $1.60 or $1.70 pop in but I had confidence in the horse and Fred,' the Flemington-based Cameron said.
'We came here thinking a few were going to try and put a bit of pressure on us but he's not a one trick pony.
'He had the right run and he was just a bit too good for them.'
Kersley said Elouyou improved on his last win in his latest success.
'He gave me a better feel today,' Kersley said.
'It wasn't the be-all-and-end-all to lead but last start, we had the track pattern and bias in our favour.
'What I loved about today's effort was that I was able to go to Plan B and he raced tractably.
'It felt like I was on the winner from a long way out so it must have been a good watch.'
Cameron said the weather would determine Elouyou's next assignment.
'He's just a really good wet tracker. He's good on top of the ground but he pulls up better after running on a soft track,' Cameron said.
'We've just got to keep an eye on the weather.
'There is a Benchmark 100 in two weeks at Caulfield but it all depends on what the weather is doing.'

Portsea Polo set to return to Point Nepean in 2026 as part of global

Don't miss out on the headlines from South East . Followed categories will be added to My News. The Portsea Polo is making a comeback with a new format and high end vibe that could see superyachts moored alongside the arena. After a five year hiatus the event is returning to Point Nepean on February 14, 2026 as part of F3Polo which debuts in Sydney's Centennial Park in November. F3Polo is a contemporary twist on the traditional sport made famous by the royals and is designed to make the game faster and bring spectators closer to the action. Each team has three players instead of four, the rules are simplified and the chukkas (or quarters) are shorter. Early bird tickets to the event went on sale on Tuesday much to the surprise of Portsea resident and long time polo fan Rod North. 'It's the best kept secret in Portsea at the moment,' he said. 'No one seems to know it's back on and if they do they are being very hush hush about it. 'In any case it's exciting for Portsea and very good news for local businesses.' Mr North, who has been attending polo matches since the 1980s, said the 2026 event appeared to cater for a 'well-heeled crowd'. 'The organisers are offering moorings for spectators wanting to travel to the event by boat,' he said. 'I wouldn't be surprised if we had some superyachts turn up.' Those without a boat but holding VIP or private marquee tickets could also buy a car park for the day near the event at Jarman Oval for $100. Sorrento Chamber of Commerce president Krysten Le Marshall said the 'game of princes' would put the peninsula 'on the map' globally. 'The F3Polo has a global route including Singapore and New York and for Portsea to be included is such a coup,' Ms Le Marshall said. 'It's an elevated version of the old Portsea Polo and there will be plenty of flow on benefits for Sorrento with spectators coming here for after parties and to overnight.' Mr North said the event had changed a lot since his early days at Portsea Polo when he took the car and had a picnic from the boot. 'Now, unless you want to stand all day or sprint for the first come first served lawn furniture in the VIP area, you'll have buy a table for ten on the VIP Terrace for almost $3500 or pay $730.75 for a solo ticket to a private marquee,' he said.

Ready to step up to the 2100m. MR CONSPIRACY (5) closed from near last when fourth to Ant over 200m at Kembla. STEEL RAIN (8) boxed on okay for second behind Pick Up The Tab when resuming over 1200m at Kembla. Stepped up to 1500m and led when a head second to Fairhead at Goulburn last start. THE BEAST (3) has placed third in both run this campaign but hasn't looked entirely comfortable on the heavy tracks. He will appreciate getting back on a better surface. COVERT THINKING (6) settled last and made ground along the rails on debut at Hawkesbury before closing nicely for a half-length second to Elivina over 1500m at Newcastle. Backed it up with a handy win over this track and distance on May 29. Gets in well with the 3kg claim. Cranbourne Racecourse to host the wake for the late Robbie Laing next Wednesday

Robbie Laing's family will hold a 'low-key' funeral but Jack Laing says his father's life will be celebrated in the trainer's own inimitable style at his Cranbourne stomping ground next week. Robbie Laing's death at the age of 66 last weekend stunned the Victorian racing industry as it came hours after the veteran horseman trained El Soleado into second placing in the final race of last Saturday's Flemington meeting. Jack Laing said he and some of his seven siblings were working through the process of transferring his father's racing and breeding stock. He said the industry and public's response to Robbie's death continued to amaze his family. 'The public response has been overwhelming,' Laing said. 'We knew it would be significant but even he would be surprised with how big it has been. It has just been massive.' Laing said his grandfather Eddie, who was also a successful trainer, suggested the family hold a small funeral for the gifted horseman. However, Laing said Cranbourne racecourse would be the scene of a huge celebration next Wednesday. ðŸ† Roman Arch - 2006 Australian Cup ðŸ† Polanski - 2013 Victoria Derby Robbie Laing’s final two Group 1 successes occurred at Flemington ðŸ‡ðŸ¼ He was a brilliant trainer & horseman & he will be missed by many in the racing industry 🕊ï¸ — (@Racing) June 8, 2025 • 'We're all devastated': Super stallion Snitzel dies 'As per Eddie's request, we're going to have a low-key funeral with just immediate family in Cranbourne,' Jack said. 'It's still going to be pretty big as Dad had a high offspring count with eight of us. 'We're going to have something low-key towards the end of this week. 'Then on Wednesday, all of his friends and compatriots in racing can say a few words, if they like, at a place where he trained hundreds of winners and won a Cranbourne Cup.' Laing said his stable would also have a fitting tribute to his late father at Sandown on the same day. The young trainer will run handy sprinter Speir in a 1000m race, which will be a fitting tribute as Robbie Laing bred the speedster and trained his sire Lord Of The Sky, who was one of the fastest horses in Australia during his racing career. Speir's rider will also don Robbie's black, red and white silks for the race. ðŸ† Roman Arch - 2006 Australian Cup ðŸ† Polanski - 2013 Victoria Derby Robbie Laing’s final two Group 1 successes occurred at Flemington ðŸ‡ðŸ¼ He was a brilliant trainer & horseman & he will be missed by many in the racing industry 🕊ï¸ — (@Racing) June 8, 2025 'If he's right, he'll just about win there and it would be awesome to have a winner while Dad has his wake,' Laing said. 'It will be the perfect send-off if a horse he bred wins.'
