He says he loves the role and is physically ready to play it again.
Renner 's future in the MCU
Although his character, Hawkeye (Clint Barton), is not part of the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday film, Renner is still positive about returning to the role.
In an interview with Empire, Renner said he loves being part of the MCU and still feels strong enough to play the superhero. He believes there's a good chance 'Hawkeye Season 2' will eventually happen and even hinted at other future appearances.
He said 'I'm always happy to be in that world, man, I love all those guys, I love the character. I'm sure we'll end up doing Season 2 and do other things. And I'm happy to do it. My body's getting ready for something like that.
I don't know if anybody wants to see me in tights, but my body will look good in the tights.'
The first season of 'Hawkeye' was released in 2021 and received positive feedback. However, a second season didn't move forward due to a contract issue.
Earlier this year, Renner revealed that he was offered half the salary compared to Season 1, which he turned down.
Rumours about Season 2
There were rumours that Season 2 would be similar in style to 'The Raid', focusing on intense action in a single location. Renner confirmed that some of these ideas were true and said everyone involved was interested in continuing the story. Marvel executive Brad Winderbaum also hinted that Season 2 is still being considered, especially because of the strong character dynamics and holiday-themed setting.

Even though Marvel is now producing fewer movies and shows, Renner's openness to return is a good sign. After the contract dispute, many fans thought he might leave the MCU for good. But Renner clarified he never asked for more money just the same as before.
While it's still unclear if 'Hawkeye Season 2' will fit into Marvel's future plans, there's hope that Clint Barton will return in some way.

Pedro Pascal circling Behemoth from Andor creator Tony Gilroy

Agency: Los Angeles, Aug 11 (PTI) Hollywood star Pedro Pascal is in negotiations to star in 'Behemoth", an upcoming musical drama movie from writer-director Tony Gilroy. The project is set up at Disney-owned Searchlight Pictures. Gilroy, known for movies such as 'Michael Clayton" and 'Duplicity" as well as the critically-acclaimed 'Star Wars" spinoff show 'Andor", will produce the film alongside Sanne Wohlenberg. 'I probably told 70 or 80 random people': Paul Walter Hauser admits revealing his Fantastic Four role before release

Washington DC [US], August 11 (ANI): Paul Walter Hauser, who played the role of Mole Man in Marvel's blockbuster film 'Fantastic Four: First Steps', revealed that he was not so secretive with his surprise role despite the Marvel's demand for secracy. In a recent interview with GQ, as quoted by Variety, the Golden Globe winner, who plays Mole Man in the MCU blockbuster, said he wasn't as "zip-lipped" as he could've been about his part. Marvel allegedly demands its actors to keep their roles a secret unless officially revealed. However, for Paul, such conditions were never meant to stand much. "For the most part, I was zip-lipped, and everybody understands at this point. They all know if you do 'Star Wars,' or Marvel, you can't talk about it. But if I'm being honest--and I pride myself on my honesty nowadays--I probably told 70 or 80 random people, be it family members or fans. I'm not gonna lie and say I told literally no one. I told several dozen people," said Paul Walter Hauser as quoted by Variety. Clarifying the potential leakage of information, the actor said that his mates were "respectful" with the secret of his MCU role. "But at the same time, they weren't blabbering it out, or giving it to news outlets. They were respectful, and excited, and what-have-you. But if a little kid comes up to me in a wheelchair with a comic book, and they're like, 'Are you Mole Man?' I would say something like, 'I don't know man, I hear there is a mole...' And wink at them, just to get them excited," said Hauser as quoted by Variety. Hauser further added that it's not the end of the world for the MCU if he gives a few people behind-the-scenes details as its founders and creators are "busy" with other stuffs. "When I look at Kevin Feige and the Marvel folks, I go, I think they're probably busy with some other stuff. They're probably not gonna chase me down and scalp me, or shoot a little [dart] into my neck," added Hauser as quoted by Variety. In 'Fantastic Four,' Hauser appears alongside Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Joseph Quinn and Ralph Ineson. The MCU epic follows the titular super groups as they attempt to defend Earth from the gargantuan planet-eating entity known as Galactus. (ANI)

Weapons: Zach Cregger's Low-Budget Horror Film Scores Big, Surpasses The Fantastic Four

In 2025, Zach Cregger's horror film Weapons earned big in its opening weekend, surpassing Lindsay Lohan's Freakier Friday and Marvel's The Fantastic Four: First Steps. Weapons Movie: 2025 is turning out to be a banner year for horror in world cinema, and Zach Cregger's Weapons has emerged as the latest genre sensation. Following in the footsteps of earlier hits like Sinners, the chilling and haunting film not only won over critics but also set the global box office ablaze with its stunning debut. Over its opening weekend, Weapons earned an impressive $42.5 million domestically (North America), easily claiming the top spot. In doing so, it outpaced fellow new release Freakier Friday, Lindsay Lohan's comedy which collected $29 million in the US and Canada. Where Weapons truly distinguished itself was in its worldwide appeal. While Ryan Coogler's Sinners dominated North America but stumbled overseas, Weapons had a strong international start. It brought in $28 million from overseas markets, pushing its global total to $70 million in just three days. This made it the highest-grossing film worldwide over the weekend, beating Freakier Friday and even Marvel's big-budget The Fantastic Four: First Steps, both of which earned $30–35 million internationally. The feat is even more remarkable considering Weapons was made on a modest $38 million budget, meaning it has already reached break-even in its very first weekend. Minimum marketing worked for Weapons Industry experts say smart marketing was key. Paul Dergarabedian, senior media analyst at Comscore, noted that viral campaigns and social media buzz propelled both Weapons and Freakier Friday. 'The top two films could not be more different, and that's what makes this weekend so appealing for moviegoers," he said. 'Both are perfectly tailored for their audiences to react in real time and then post on social media." What is the story of Weapons? Set in the eerie small town of Maybrook, Weapons follows a chilling mystery: at 2:17 a.m., 17 children simultaneously leave their homes without explanation, leaving parents shocked and desperate. The town then spirals into a web of paranoia, trauma, and even moments of dark existential humour. With a 95% Rotten Tomatoes score and opening numbers trailing only Final Destination: Bloodlines and Sinners, Weapons cements 2025 as a horror flick and proves the genre's ability to dominate both screens and conversations worldwide.
