Cat Deeley goes bare legged in high street dress that looks expensive

Daily Mirror20-05-2025

The ITV presenter showed off her pins in a River Island mini dress that would give designer labels a run for their money
When it comes to personal style, This Morning's Cat Deeley has honed a seriously chic and distinctive wardrobe throughout her decades on TV. Each week, her outfits never fail to turn heads, and this week is no different, with the presenter stepping out in a stunning butter yellow mini dress that ticks all the summer 2025 trend boxes.
The 48-year-old regularly opts for premium brands, with some of her recent looks including a £410 Farm Rio dress and a £299 pair of Massimo Dutti trousers. So when the mum-of-two wears something a little more budget-friendly from the high street, it's safe to say we get excited.
On Monday, the presenter looked summer-ready in a Yellow Bow Embellished Mini Dress. While it may look designer, slotting in effortlessly with Cat's high end wardrobe, the dress is actually from high-street favourite River Island, and comes in at £75 - much more purse friendly than some of the This Morning host's former ensembles.
The dress boasts a round neckline and sleeveless design making it a great choice for warm weather styling. It features feminine bow detailing to the back, with rhinestone embellishments on the skirt for a sophisticated and expensive-looking outfit.
Truth be told, it took us a little longer than usual to uncover Cat's look, and that's because we were convinced it was a co-ord. The figure-skimming shift dress is cut to look like a top and skirt, which actually might have actually been even better, as it would have made them more wearable as separates.
Cat styled the dress with simple accessories, including a metallic pair of barely-there heels, letting the statement dress do all of the talking. Equally, for those looking to achieve a more relaxed, daytime feel, a pair of elevated ballet flats would look equally as dreamy.
The lower part of the dress is strikingly similar to a previous season Zara skirt, proving this is a style that will stay in fashion for seasons to come. But what we love in particular about the River Island number is that it's in what is widely considered to be the colour of the year - butter yellow. The hue has been absolutely everywhere this year, and we're certainly not mad about it.
The dress comes in sizes 6-18, though after being spied on the presenter, it's quickly selling out. It does, however, come in petite, which is great news for those 5'3' and under, or anyone who doesn't mind a slightly shorter hemline. Anyone not keen on the yellow might instead be interested in the black or white version of the frock, the latter of which is perfect for hen parties or bridal showers.
For those who love a co-ord, Odd Muse has some alternative options, though they are a little more expensive. The Ultimate Muse Crystal Tee will set shoppers back £135 while the matching maxi skirt is £155. The brand also has some embellished midi dresses for £165. But for shoppers looking to steal Cat Deeley's style, her River Island dress is available here.

Emmerdale star says she's estranged from family over inheritance from her dad

A former Emmerdale cast member spoke to Vanessa Feltz on her 5 talk show this week about inheritance, with Suzanne Shaw speaking about her late father's death in 2012 A former Emmerdale cast member has shared that they are estranged from some of their family following a "divide" over inheritance. The actor said this week that the apparent situation following the death of their father is "sad". Suzanne Shaw, now 43 - who played Eve Jenson on the ITV soap opera - lost her late father Vincent Crowshaw, who was 62, back in 2012. Vincent died just months after being diagnosed with a brain tumour earlier that same year. ‌ Now more than a decade on, Suzanne - who rose to fame as part of the group Hear'Say - has claimed that she inherited "nothing" from him following his death. She's suggested that most of the inheritance went to her step-mother. ‌ Suzanne mentioned her late father whilst a guest on 5 's Vanessa yesterday afternoon. It came during a discussion, led by host Vanessa Feltz, 63, over whether children should receive the same inheritance in the case of a parent dying. During the segment, Vanessa told her guests that she knows people who were "passed over" in a will. She said that it had been because they were perceived to be financially "set up for life," whereas their siblings were not. Speaking about those who didn't get the inheritance, Vanessa said: "It's not that they really needed the money. It was much more a feeling of being slapped in the face. A feeling of being sort of dealt a blow from beyond the grave." Suzanne, who previously said that "explanation is key" and encouraged "communication before it all happens," responded to host Vanessa by saying: "I went through it myself". She added: "My dad passed away, very sadly." She then shared that her father had separated from her mother, Janet Kish, and remarried prior to his death. Suzanne said: "[A] divided family. He remarried." ‌ Suzanne continued: "My brother got some inheritance but it was only his business that he inherited. And then my stepmum got all of it and it was meant to be split equally. She's now remarried. Everything's gone to her side of the family. I got nothing out of any of it. So I know what it feels like." Vanessa then asked Suzanne to explain how it feels. She responded: "It's like a slap in the face. It's like you weren't valued in that ... in that set-up. So, yeah, I know what it feels like. It's hard." ‌ Seemingly suggesting that she's now estranged from some of her family, Suzanne added: "But what it causes is then divide, and y'know we don't no longer speak to those people who were a big part of our lives and that's sad. That's sad in itself. So I think communication is a must in this situation." Vanessa airs weekdays on 5 from 12.30pm. Holly Willoughby suffers major blow as Netflix show is 'axed' after one season

Holly Willoughby's Netflix series Celebrity Bear Hunt has reportedly been axed (Picture: Netflix) British TV personality Holly Willoughby's Netflix show Celebrity Bear Hunt reportedly won't be returning to screens for a second season. The former This Morning star, 44, broke into the Netflix presenting market last year by hosting a survival show which plunged a group of famous faces into the jungles of Costa Rica where they are chased by famed survivalist Bear Grylls. The show featured the likes of Spice Girls icon Mel B, retired tennis player Boris Becker, TV presenter Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, and Strictly Come Dancing head judge Shirley Ballas. Although the show comfortably topped the UK Netflix charts – and hung about in the top 10 for multiple weeks – it didn't quite make the same splash globally, with insiders claiming at the time that execs didn't believe it had been worth the 'huge financial cost', per The Mirror. Now, four months after its premiere, it looks as though its fate has been sealed with sources telling MailOnline it will not be returning. The insider said: 'Everyone was very proud of the show but when it came to it, it was just so expensive to make. The expensive Costa Rica-based show performed well in the UK but not globally (Picture: Tom Dymond/Netflix) 'You had to have a whole set in Costa Rica, loads of staff and loads of celebrities. The overheads were eyewatering,' adding that cheaper locations were explored but ultimately nothing was found. It comes just two weeks after Grylls shared his hopes of a renewal with an optimistic update. 'God willing, we're just sort of figuring that out at the moment,' he told Dermot O'Leary on Radio 2. The first season, dubbed 'I'm A Celebrity on steroids' spanned 12 episodes and was won by Big Zuu where he was rewarded a rope worn by Grylls himself and which he has hung up in his home like a 'weird little mantlepiece' as he told Metro. Although it seems as though it is the end of the road for the reality show, it left a lasting mark on its cast, as The Saturdays' Una Healey explained. The show was ultimately won by Big Zuu (Picture: Tom Dymond/Netflix) It remains to be seen what the TV presenter does next (Picture: Kieron McCarron/ITV/REX/Shutterstock) '[Grylls] actually prepared us for the outside world afterwards, to get back to reality, which I did experience a mild form of PTSD. And he said that can happen,' she told The Sun at the time. The pop star added: 'It's very natural because you're coming back into your natural environment. But you've adapted to this whole new way of life. 'So he prepared me for that and I had it. I had a few aftershocks and nightmares and stuff.' As for Willoughby, it is unclear what her next career move is after her final ITV show, Dancing On Ice, announced it was coming to an end after 19 years. She also quit her co-hosting gig with Stephen Mulhern for the reboot of You Bet! after one season. Celebrity Bear Hunt is available to stream on Netflix. Metro has reached out to Netflix for comment. Emmerdale in schedule shake up as soap WON'T air tonight and is replaced – despite tense murder plot

EMMERDALE won't be airing in its typical spot on ITV tonight, despite fans being desperate for answers. The latest episode of the soap favourite ended on a cliffhanger, with Ruby Miligan's fate being left up in the air. 5 5 5 However, because of ITV's coverage of the UEFA Women's Nations League – which starts at 5.30pm – the latest episode has been pushed back. But all is not completely lost, as fans will be treated to a special hour-long episode tomorrow (Wednesday) to make up for the lost episode. Emmerdale will return to screens at 7pm tomorrow, where it will pick up after Ruby's murderous confession. Monday night's episode saw Ruby confess to the police that she killed her abusive father, Anthony Fox. Anthony – who had molested her as a child and even fathered her daughter, Steph – was killed in January by Ruby, although initially Aaron Dingle was believed to have done it. However, while Aaron did brutally batter him, Ruby was the one who finished him off – leaving Aaron to recruit John Sugden to help him dispose of the body. But she was unaware that he buried his body in the woods, and after the villages lake was dredges, and a body was discovered, Ruby believed her days were numbered, so gave herself up. However, fans are aware the body in the lake is actually Nate Robinson, who hasn't been seen in the Dales since September last year. Nate's sudden and swift exit, supposedly for Shetland, never quite sat right with fans, and in February a daring stunt scene saw the truth come to light. When a hen party crashed into the icy lake, the body was spotted for the first time, with only a bracelet from Nate's daughter Frankie revealing his identity. Horrifying moment Emmerdale legend has nasty fall - leaving him struggling alone at home He was last seen speaking to John Sugden, after being falsely accused of sleeping with Cain Dingle's wife, Moira. John has becoming one of the show's most acctive killers – also offing his ex-boyfriend on his wedding day to Aaron. Ruby, Aaron and John had been keeping quiet about the cover-up, with Caleb and Chastity Dingle later being brought into the fold as well. But with her confession to the police, what's in store for everyone now? Especially as the body isn't even who they think it is? 5 5
