Recaro Aircraft Seating reveals eVTOL seat at AIX
Recaro Aircraft Seating (Recaro), a pioneer in the eVTOL aircraft sector, will showcase its innovative eVTOL seating solution at the 2025 Aircraft Interiors Expo (AIX) in Hamburg.
The lightweight seat, made from high-grade aluminum, titanium, and composite materials, ensures minimal weight and energy-efficient flight operations.
'Eve Air Mobility and Recaro combined their expertise to develop lightweight, ergonomic seating that can support the distinct needs of eVTOL flights. The urban air mobility industry introduces a new range of engineering challenges, including seating,' said Johann Bordais, CEO of Eve. 'This means aligning with partners who embrace reengineering aircraft from the ground up. Through our collaboration with Recaro, we've found new and inventive ways to make aircraft seating light enough for electric urban flights without sacrificing the in-cabin experience.'
"The success of a project like this is only possible when there is a strong collaboration, just as there is between Recaro and Eve Air Mobility,' said Dr Mark Hiller, CEO of Recaro Aircraft Seating and Recaro Holding. 'Seating for eVTOL aircraft fits perfectly with the capabilities and strengths of Recaro when it comes to lightweight design, superior quality, and outstanding ergonomics. This marks a very exciting moment at AIX 2025." -TradeArabia News Service

Flydubai to Retrofit 21 737 Max Aircraft
At the Aircraft Interiors Expo (AIX), Dubai-based airline flydubai and Boeing announced a deal to retrofit 21 of flydubai's 737 MAX aircraft with larger Boeing Space Bins. The new Space Bins can hold up to six standard-sized bags per bin by positioning the bags on their edge, compared to the previous standard of four bags per bin. 'Since commencing operations in 2009, we have remained dedicated to investing in product innovation and elevating our passengers' inflight experience. By having Boeing's larger Space Bins on our 737 MAX aircraft, this will provide our passengers with added convenience and increased storage space that rivals the experience offered on a wide-body aircraft,' Daniel Kerrison, Senior Vice President of Inflight Operations at flydubai said. flydubai operates a fleet of 88 Boeing 737 aircraft, 59 of which are 737 MAX. The airline serves a growing network of more than 130 destinations in 55 countries, including regions such as Africa, Central Asia, the Caucasus, Central and South-East Europe, the GCC, the Middle East, South Asia, and South-East Asia. 'Passengers are making the connection between bin capacity and the extra room they need and expect for their carry-on bags. We are proud to partner with flydubai to bring Space Bins capability to their existing 737 MAX fleet,' Doug Backhus, Vice President of Cabin, Modifications and Maintenance at Boeing said. Eve Air Mobility names new chief commercial head
Eve Air Mobility, a pioneering company at the forefront of advanced air mobility, dedicated to developing electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft and urban air mobility infrastructure, has announced the appointment of Megha Bhatia as its new Chief Commercial Officer. Based in Melbourne, Bhatia will oversee Eve's global sales, market intelligence, and government relations divisions. She joins Eve from Jet Support Services (JSSI), where she served as chief strategy officer. Her tenure at JSSI was marked by strategic initiatives that drove sales and enabled cross-selling and data integration across business units. Prior to JSSI, Bhatia held a series of leadership roles at Rolls-Royce over a span of more than a decade, holding various leadership positions, culminating in her role as Vice President Sales & Marketing for Business Aviation. Bhatia made significant contributions such as transforming the team performance to achieve record sales and increase the technical and commercial client experiences through process improvements and cross-functional collaboration. Lauding her appointment, Johann Bordais, CEO of Eve Air Mobility, said: "Megha's extensive experience and strategic leadership are going to be instrumental as Eve prepares for LOI conversion into firm orders. Her ability to drive growth, manage large P&Ls, and lead high-performing teams, combined with her deep understanding of the aviation industry, make her an invaluable addition to our executive team." "As we continue to advance the Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) ecosystem, Megha's expertise will play a crucial role reaching our goals with team initiatives and driving sustainable growth," he stated. Eve boasts the industry's largest backlog with letters of intent for 2,900 eVTOL aircraft, representing a potential $14.5 billion in revenue across 30 customers in 13 countries. Beyond aircraft, the company secured agreements with 14 service and operations customers in 9 countries and pre-deals for its urban air traffic management solution, Vector, with 17 customers across nine countries. On her new role, Megha said: "I am thrilled to join Eve Air Mobility, a pioneering company at the forefront of Advanced Air Mobility, dedicated to transforming how people travel. As an industry leader, EVE is crafting a comprehensive ecosystem of cutting-edge products and solutions, where state-of-the-art eVTOLs are seamlessly integrated with safe operations and optimized agnostic systems, including modern air traffic management." Eve's ongoing expansion of its diverse portfolio of agnostic services and operational solutions has recently culminated in a significant milestone. The company successfully assembled its first full-scale eVTOL prototype at the Embraer test facility in Gavião Peixoto, Sao Paulo State, and completed the selection process for primary suppliers for its eVTOL aircraft. The company is presently advancing into the next stage of development, which involves a series of comprehensive testing campaigns designed to evaluate every aspect of the aircraft's operation and performance, from flight capabilities to safety features.
