CPM calls for a nationwide protest against SIR in Bihar
A statement by the Polit Bureau of the party alleged that the Election Commission (EC) is biased in favour of the BJP-led government and complicit with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) in implementing the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls in Bihar.
'The EC, which until now had acted in favour of the BJP-led government, has now become complicit in implementing the RSS or Sangh Parivar agenda. This (SIR) attack on democratic rights, which is sought to be extended across the country, must not be allowed. It is to be noted that even some of the alliance partners of the BJP, like the TDP, have voiced their concerns about the SIR. The CPM calls for protests to be held throughout the country on 8th August 2025 against this anti-democratic exercise of the EC,' read a statement issued by the Polit Bureau of the party on Saturday.
The party further said that the Commission wants to extend this exercise to the entire country-- in the name of revising the electoral rolls-- and is appropriating the authority to verify the citizenship of voters, which is outside its constitutional remit.
'Under the baseless pretext of weeding out foreigners from the electoral rolls, they are disenfranchising vast sections of minorities and other select groups. The entire process is fraught with various violations, and even the right to vote guaranteed by the Constitution may be denied to many," the party said.
"The NRC exercise, which was widely opposed by the people before the Covid pandemic, is sought to be enforced surreptitiously through the back door,' the party added.

A state-level event to observe 'Partition Horrors Remembrance Day' will be held in Faridabad on August 14, with chief minister Nayab Singh Saini, ministers, MLAs, and party workers in attendance, Badoli said during a press conference held at the Gurugram office. 'Tiranga Yatra is a campaign to instil patriotic fervour and bring citizens together in celebration of India's freedom,' said Badoli. He said that a state-level committee has been set up for the campaign, with former minister Aseem Goel appointed as convener, and Manish Yadav (Gurugram), Dr Aditya Batra (Rohtak), and Meena Parmar (Bhiwani) as co-conveners. 'All mandals must actively mobilise people and ensure mass participation. The yatras must reflect energy and unity,' Badoli added. On development work in Gurugram, the BJP leader said, 'Compare Gurugram before 2014 and now in 2025—you will see massive progress across sectors. Under the leadership of CM Nayab Singh Saini, development work is being carried out rapidly, not just in Gurugram but across Haryana.' He also reviewed previous programmes and discussed planning for upcoming initiatives. 'The booth-level implementation of 'Mann Ki Baat' in Gurugram has been exceptional. We have urged all workers to strengthen booth-level structures further and carry forward the government's welfare schemes and achievements to the grassroots,' he said. Meanwhile, district president Sarvapriya Tyagi exuded confidence that all programmes assigned by the state unit will be implemented with dedication and sincerity. 'Under Badoli ji's charismatic leadership, our organisation is growing stronger each day. Haryana was the top-performing state in broadcasting Mann Ki Baat, and in Gurugram, every booth heard the PM's message, which was later uploaded on the Saral Portal,' he said.

BJP to inaugurate its new Delhi office in Sept
With the development work of setting up a new party headquarter for the Delhi unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) nearing completion, the party is eyeing to inaugurate and shift to its new office in the later half of September, around the period of Navratri, party leaders familiar with the matter said. The new office is also closer to the national headquarters. (AFP) The main building and the approach road leading to the headquarters from Deendayal Upadhyay (DDU) Marg have been completed. The interior work, room partitions and electrical work is being carried out, party functionaries said. 'The current period is considered inauspicious for inaugurations of new projects. Several leaders are of the opinion that the move from the old office to the new office should be made during Navratri. We are hoping to complete the finishing work before Navratris,' a senior party leader said. Sharad Navratri will be celebrated from September 22 to October 1. This nine-day festival will conclude with Dussehra on October 2. The new five-storey building, which is painted yellow-saffron, is on DDU Marg — just down the road from the BJP's national headquarters — and it is inspired from South Indian temple architecture, the functionaries said. The party's Delhi unit currently functions from a bungalow on Pant Marg, near the Parliament complex. Officials said that the current office has very limited space and several portacabins have been set up to accommodate offices. As the party has expanded, the need for space has increased multifold, they said. The new office is also closer to the national headquarters, the BJP leader quoted above said. During a spot check on Monday, HT found that the work on the core building is complete and workers were busy giving finishing touches on the first two floors and adding room partitions and false ceilings on upper floors. The generator set and solar powered panels as well as most of the flooring and painting have been completed. Another BJP leader said that the new building, spread over an area of 825 sqm, boasts of two basements that can accommodate 50 vehicles. 'The ground floor will have a press conference room to hold press meets, along with a grand reception area, and a canteen. The first floor will have an auditorium with a capacity of around 300 people,' the leader said, on condition of anonymity. The second and third floors of the building will have the offices of state general secretaries, secretaries and vice-presidents, while the top floor will house the offices of the Delhi BJP in-charge, the state president, and the organisational general secretary. BJP national president JP Nadda laid the foundation stone for the DDU Marg office in June 2023. This will be the third site from which the Delhi BJP will operate. The party earlier used to operate from a building near Ajmeri Gate, before being relocated to the Pant Marg bungalow in 1989. A party leader said that another advantage of the new office will be that the new building has its proximity to the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) headquarters where the BJP is in power, the national headquarters and the Delhi secretariat, which is only 2km away.

BJP says Congress govt. has turned Karnataka into a ‘safe abode of anti-nationals'
Expressing concern over the Gujarat Anti-Terrorist Squad arresting a woman from Bengaluru for amplifying the digital propaganda of Al-Qaeda in India and the Mumbai police detecting a narcotics drug manufacturing unit in Mysuru, the BJP has accused the Congress government of protecting anti-nationals. Speaking to presspersons in Delhi, BJP MP and former Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai accused the government of protecting anti-nationals, and said law and order in Karnataka had completely deteriorated. 'The police have lost control over criminal elements. Just last week, the Maharashtra police came to Mysuru and seized drugs worth around ₹394 crore. Yet, the Karnataka Home Minister claimed that he had no information regarding the drug operation,' he said. He further said that a Gujarat ATS team came to Bengaluru and arrested a woman who is a member of Al-Qaeda in the Indian subcontinent. 'This woman was recruiting for Al-Qaeda in the subcontinent. It was the Gujarat ATS team that arrested her. What were the Karnataka police doing?' he said. Another BJP MP, Capt Brijesh Chowta, alleged in Delhi that Karnataka was becoming a safe abode of anti-nationals and terrorists because of the maladministration of the Siddaramaiah-led Congress government. The Home Minister had become helpless in the power tussle between the Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister that had weakened the administration, he alleged. This had made people to live under fear as the political situation had weakened the law and order situation, turning the State into a safe abode for anti-national activities, he argued.
