Mansfield sign midfielder Hendry from Tranmere
Mansfield Town have signed Regan Hendry on a two-year deal after the midfielder ended discussions about staying with League Two side Tranmere Rovers.
The 27-year-old Scot was among eight players in talks with Rovers about new deals earlier this month, but he has opted to move up to League One with the Stags.

Hendry, who came through Celtic's youth teams before going on to start his senior career with Raith Rovers, last featured in England's third tier with Forest Green Rovers in 2023.
And it was at Mansfield on the final day of the 2021-22 season that Hendry helped Forest Green clinch the League Two title.
He moved to Tranmere on loan by the middle of the following season, before making his stay at Prenton Park permanent in the summer of 2023.
Stags boss Nigel Clough said the central midfield is a player that the club has "admired for some time".
"He's an all-round midfield player who can play two or three different roles and will complement the midfielders who we already have in the squad," Clough told the club website.

"There's a bottleneck at this level, and this game tells you everything about the standard and quality in the league. "In the National league you've got to be better than 22 teams and only the top one goes up automatically, while in League Two you've only got to be better than 20 sides – it should be three up, of course it should. "Whether it gets voted in or not I don't know, people say it's like turkeys voting for Christmas."

McGoldrick turns down Notts County deal
David McGoldrick scored 29 league goals in 73 appearances in his second spell at Meadow Lane [Rex Features] David McGoldrick has rejected the offer of a new contract at Notts County, the club have confirmed. The 37-year-old former Republic of Ireland international forward, who returned to his boyhood club in 2023, scored 17 goals in 35 appearances this season as the Magpies reached the League Two play-offs. Advertisement McGoldrick has scored 180 goals in a career spanning more than 600 appearances across more than 20 seasons and counts Southampton, Nottingham Forest, Coventry City, Ipswich Town, Sheffield United and Derby County among his former clubs. His final appearance for County came in the play-off semi-final first-leg defeat against Wimbledon at Meadow Lane, where he limped off late on with an injury that ruled him out of the return leg, which the Dons also won 1-0. Walsall midfielder McEntee joins Hearts
Oisin McEntee scored six goals during his three-year stay with Walsall [Rex Features] Walsall defensive midfielder Oisin McEntee has agreed to join Scottish Premiership side Hearts on a three-year deal. Republic of Ireland under-21 international McEntee, 24, has made 79 appearances for the Saddlers across three seasons since joining from Newcastle United in 2022.
