Netflix thriller hailed 'a masterpiece' is finally returning after 3 yeears
After years of anticipation, Netflix has finally dropped the trailer and release date for one of its most buzzworthy shows – Alice in Borderland.
The sci-fi dystopian thriller – often compared to Squid Game for its life-and-death stakes and unapologetic gore – follows an 'aimless gamer [Arisu portrayed by Kento Yamazki] in Tokyo' who is 'suddenly thrown into a survival game set in a parallel wasteland'
'He has to use all his skills to win – or die trying,' the synopsis ominously concludes.
The second season, which landed an impressive 91% on Rotten Tomatoes, came out in December 2022. Now, the streamer has confirmed the show will return almost three years later on September 25, 2025.
The trailer comes with the caption: 'Arisu escaped Borderland once. It's time to brave the games once again.'

The one-minute 35 second teaser which opens on a shot of the central joker card shows flashes of far-stretching death and destruction as Arisu says: 'All of a sudden everything went quiet. I feel like I dreamed a journey '
As he continues to deliver his eerie testimony, returning and new characters graced the screen as 'invisible threads' seem to pull these characters together in the real world – with their memories of Borderland only resurfacing in 'dreams and hallucinations'.
There are fiery explosions, an aflame arrow shoots through someone's neck and more than one near-death scenario as Arisu races to save his beloved Usagi (Tao Tsuchiya) from the forces that threaten them.
New cast members include Koji Ohkura, Risa Sudou, Hiroyuki Ikeuchi, Tina Tamashiro, Kotaro Daigo, Hyunri, Sakura Kiryu and Kento Kaku.
This first look of the show, based on a Japanese manga series of the same name by Haro Aso, has fans absolutely buzzing.

The first preview of Mitchell and Webb Are Not Helping shows a flustered Mitchell sweating his way through airport security, manifesting our biggest fears while also feeling terrifyingly accurate. While many viewers of the preview said they 'can't wait', Mitchell and Webb fan Henry Shevlin has high hopes the show will be even funnier. 'Gruesomely romantic horror movie' lands huge 90% Rotten Tomatoes score

Together, starring real-life couple Dave Franco and Alison Brie, landed in US cinemas this week, ahead of a UK premiere on August 15. Michael Shanks' scare-fest follows lovebirds Tim and Millie who move out to the country, where they have a bizarre, supernatural encounter. However, things take a creepy turn when their flesh begins fusing to each other, bringing them much closer than they ever anticipated. Although the flick hasn't been out long, it has gone down very well with film buffs, and currently claims a near-perfect score from reviewers on Rotten Tomatoes, compared to a 79% mark from fans. Heaping praise on the film, Movie Brief's Michael Nordine raved: 'One of the more gruesomely romantic horror movies ever made.' 'A giddy grotesquerie that has midnight-movie crowd-pleaser written all over it,' Nick Schager of the Daily Beast agreed. Owen Gleiberman, for Variety, penned: 'It's fun (in a rather bumptious way), it stars two very good actors playing a couple who have as many issues as couples do in real life, and it works as a totally unhinged yet far from mindless thriller built around a Big Idea.' Deadline Hollywood Daily's Glenn Garner hailed: 'Although Alison Brie and husband Dave Franco have shared the screen in the past, they truly sink into each other with some skin-crawling, albeit heartfelt and hilarious performances in writer-director Michael Shanks' feature debut Together.' As the Guardian's Benjamin Lee added: 'A convincingly gory argument for being single.' Stevie Nicks cancels tour dates just days before first gig due to injury
Stevie Nicks has been forced to postpone a series of upcoming tour dates after sustaining a shoulder fracture that requires time to heal. The 76-year-old music icon took to Instagram to share the news directly with fans, confirming that concerts scheduled for August and September will be rescheduled. 'Due to a recent injury resulting in a fractured shoulder that will require recovery time, Stevie Nicks' scheduled concerts in August and September will be rescheduled,' she wrote. 'Please note that October dates will be unaffected.' The Fleetwood Mac legend added that the tour is expected to resume on Wednesday, October 1 in Portland, Oregon. 'Stevie looks forward to seeing everyone soon and apologizes to the fans for this inconvenience,' the message concluded. Fans who have already purchased tickets are advised to retain them, as they will be valid for the rescheduled shows. Specific details about new dates and venues will be made available at the original point of purchase. Nicks had initially announced a nine-date tour across the US and Canada back in April, with performances slated for August and October. Due to overwhelming demand, additional shows were later added, including a launch night at Brooklyn's Barclays Center on August 8, as well as stops in Hollywood, Florida and Detroit in September. October was set to bring her to cities including Portland, Sacramento, Atlantic City, Charlotte, and Hartford. The news comes after Nicks postponed her Glasgow gig at short notice after having minor surgery for a leg injury. The Dreams singer was due to appear at the OVO Hydro earlier this month but organisers said she needs a 'few days of recovery' following a medical procedure. Even more recently, Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham officially confirmed the re-release of their 1973 duo album Buckingham Nicks. The famously acrimonious former bandmates caused fans to 'crash out' with a matching pair of social media posts in June, and then the appearance of a mysterious billboard a few days later. More Trending Many took to social media to speculate that the pair might finally be on speaking terms again after famously feuding for decades. Then, they informed the world that a re-release of Buckingham Nicks – which they recorded before joining Fleetwood Mac – will be available September 19.
