After years of anticipation, Netflix has finally dropped the trailer and release date for one of its most buzzworthy shows – Alice in Borderland.
The sci-fi dystopian thriller – often compared to Squid Game for its life-and-death stakes and unapologetic gore – follows an 'aimless gamer [Arisu portrayed by Kento Yamazki] in Tokyo' who is 'suddenly thrown into a survival game set in a parallel wasteland'
'He has to use all his skills to win – or die trying,' the synopsis ominously concludes.
The second season, which landed an impressive 91% on Rotten Tomatoes, came out in December 2022. Now, the streamer has confirmed the show will return almost three years later on September 25, 2025.
The trailer comes with the caption: 'Arisu escaped Borderland once. It's time to brave the games once again.'

'Arisu and Usagi take on the life-or-death games once more. One card remains: the Joker. What secrets does it hold?' the tagline reads.
The one-minute 35 second teaser which opens on a shot of the central joker card shows flashes of far-stretching death and destruction as Arisu says: 'All of a sudden everything went quiet. I feel like I dreamed a journey '
As he continues to deliver his eerie testimony, returning and new characters graced the screen as 'invisible threads' seem to pull these characters together in the real world – with their memories of Borderland only resurfacing in 'dreams and hallucinations'.
There are fiery explosions, an aflame arrow shoots through someone's neck and more than one near-death scenario as Arisu races to save his beloved Usagi (Tao Tsuchiya) from the forces that threaten them.
New cast members include Koji Ohkura, Risa Sudou, Hiroyuki Ikeuchi, Tina Tamashiro, Kotaro Daigo, Hyunri, Sakura Kiryu and Kento Kaku.
This first look of the show, based on a Japanese manga series of the same name by Haro Aso, has fans absolutely buzzing.
'Are you kidding me!!??? WOW. It looks absolutely incredible. I cannot put into words how excited I am!!! Counting down the days,' Amanda Caliber wrote on X.
'EVERYONE GET YOUR POPCORN THE BEST NETFLIX SHOW IS RETURNING,' Bt7ever declared.
'This is insane! I got goosebumps bro let's gooooo,' solasque added.
'I'm so excited, season 1 and 2 was some of the best television.' Jrmedford echoed.
The first two seasons have gained widespread acclaim from fans and critics.
'Alice in Borderland is nothing short of a masterpiece, a perfect blend of heart-pounding suspense, deep emotional storytelling, and jaw-dropping visuals,' Google reviewer Lalkrushna Purty.

Channel 4 comedy branded 'a gift' to be greatest comeback of 2025

To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video They're back! After more than a decade, David Mitchell and Robert Webb are bringing back the sketch show with a brand new comedy. Channel 4 has finally released a first look clip and image from the upcoming series Mitchell and Webb Are Not Helping, a brand new sketch show hitting screens in September 2025. The six-part season reunites comedy giants Mitchell and Webb on screen for the first time since 2017's Back and 12 years since the end of Peep Show, where they'll be joined by the next generation of comedy heroes, including Ghosts star and Great British Sewing Bee's best-ever host Kiell Smith-Bynoe, Lara Ricote, Stevie Martin, and Krystal Evans. The first preview of Mitchell and Webb Are Not Helping shows a flustered Mitchell sweating his way through airport security, manifesting our biggest fears while also feeling terrifyingly accurate. It's painfully awkward, completely absurd and fans are already calling the show 'a gift'. While many viewers of the preview said they 'can't wait', Mitchell and Webb fan Henry Shevlin has high hopes the show will be even funnier. He wrote on X: 'Mitchell & Webb are probably my favourite British comedians so looking forward to this. The sketch itself isn't that brilliant but maybe C4 went for one with 'broad appeal' and the actual show will be weirder and nerdier.' Ahead of its launch, Mitchell and Webb said: 'When Channel 4 asked us to do another sketch show we were startled, bemused and available. 'It's a perilous time for the industry and so it's our hope that relaunching the trickiest genre of comedy is a brilliant piece of counterintuitive commissioning. 'And we're confident that unlike Roger Moore with his shoe on the bonnet of a car teetering on the edge of a cliff in For Your Eyes Only [REPLACE WITH 21ST CENTURY REFERENCE?] we're not about to give British TV comedy a final lethal nudge into the abyss. 'We're looking forward to working with our brilliant new cast despite their youth and talent and would like to encourage viewers to watch the advert break carefully and do their best to buy something. 'It doesn't have to be a car but, you know, a box of chocolates or an app or something.' More Trending Smith-Bynoe added: 'Getting to join this project with comedy legends Mitchell & Webb feels like getting to sit on the grown-ups table that you've been trying to get on for years, then you realise the grown-ups are just as funny, silly and they'll let you have a sip of Advocaat. 'I'm really excited to be a part of this long-awaited return of comedy royalty.' The duo's last sketch show, Mitchell and Webb Look, won them a Bafta for Best Comedy and ran for four seasons on the BBC. 'Gruesomely romantic horror movie' lands huge 90% Rotten Tomatoes score

To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video A new body horror movie has landed a 90% Rotten Tomatoes score after being branded 'a giddy grotesquerie' by impressed critics. Together, starring real-life couple Dave Franco and Alison Brie, landed in US cinemas this week, ahead of a UK premiere on August 15. Michael Shanks' scare-fest follows lovebirds Tim and Millie who move out to the country, where they have a bizarre, supernatural encounter. However, things take a creepy turn when their flesh begins fusing to each other, bringing them much closer than they ever anticipated. Although the flick hasn't been out long, it has gone down very well with film buffs, and currently claims a near-perfect score from reviewers on Rotten Tomatoes, compared to a 79% mark from fans. Heaping praise on the film, Movie Brief's Michael Nordine raved: 'One of the more gruesomely romantic horror movies ever made.' 'A giddy grotesquerie that has midnight-movie crowd-pleaser written all over it,' Nick Schager of the Daily Beast agreed. Owen Gleiberman, for Variety, penned: 'It's fun (in a rather bumptious way), it stars two very good actors playing a couple who have as many issues as couples do in real life, and it works as a totally unhinged yet far from mindless thriller built around a Big Idea.' Deadline Hollywood Daily's Glenn Garner hailed: 'Although Alison Brie and husband Dave Franco have shared the screen in the past, they truly sink into each other with some skin-crawling, albeit heartfelt and hilarious performances in writer-director Michael Shanks' feature debut Together.' As the Guardian's Benjamin Lee added: 'A convincingly gory argument for being single.' 'Years into their relationship, Tim and Millie (Dave Franco and Alison Brie) find themselves at a crossroads as they move to the country, abandoning all that is familiar in their lives except each other,' the official synopsis reads. 'With tensions already flaring, a nightmarish encounter with a mysterious, unnatural force threatens to corrupt their lives, their love, and their flesh.' More Trending Filmmaker Michael previously opened up about the unsettling plot in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, admitting that it was inspired by his own relationship. 'I think when anyone is in a long-term relationship, there comes a point where you realize you have the same friends, eat the same food, breathe the same air – you start to wonder if you can truly tell where you end and your partner begins,' he told the outlet. 'I thought that was a really compelling place to start to examine in a relationship – what if you took that old cliche of sharing a life and took it to somewhere visceral, and horrifically literal?' Together is in US cinemas now, ahead of a UK release on August 15. Got a story? Stevie Nicks cancels tour dates just days before first gig due to injury

Stevie Nicks has been forced to postpone a series of upcoming tour dates after sustaining a shoulder fracture that requires time to heal. The 76-year-old music icon took to Instagram to share the news directly with fans, confirming that concerts scheduled for August and September will be rescheduled. 'Due to a recent injury resulting in a fractured shoulder that will require recovery time, Stevie Nicks' scheduled concerts in August and September will be rescheduled,' she wrote. 'Please note that October dates will be unaffected.' The Fleetwood Mac legend added that the tour is expected to resume on Wednesday, October 1 in Portland, Oregon. 'Stevie looks forward to seeing everyone soon and apologizes to the fans for this inconvenience,' the message concluded. Fans who have already purchased tickets are advised to retain them, as they will be valid for the rescheduled shows. Specific details about new dates and venues will be made available at the original point of purchase. Nicks had initially announced a nine-date tour across the US and Canada back in April, with performances slated for August and October. Due to overwhelming demand, additional shows were later added, including a launch night at Brooklyn's Barclays Center on August 8, as well as stops in Hollywood, Florida and Detroit in September. October was set to bring her to cities including Portland, Sacramento, Atlantic City, Charlotte, and Hartford. The news comes after Nicks postponed her Glasgow gig at short notice after having minor surgery for a leg injury. The Dreams singer was due to appear at the OVO Hydro earlier this month but organisers said she needs a 'few days of recovery' following a medical procedure. Even more recently, Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham officially confirmed the re-release of their 1973 duo album Buckingham Nicks. The famously acrimonious former bandmates caused fans to 'crash out' with a matching pair of social media posts in June, and then the appearance of a mysterious billboard a few days later. More Trending Many took to social media to speculate that the pair might finally be on speaking terms again after famously feuding for decades. Then, they informed the world that a re-release of Buckingham Nicks – which they recorded before joining Fleetwood Mac – will be available September 19. For now, fans will need to wait just a little longer to see the mystical frontwoman return to the stage. The silver lining? Nicks plans to be back on the road this autumn. Got a story?
