New Vietnamese restaurant 'Phở and Bánh Mì' coming to St. Joseph

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (News-Press NOW) — Local residents can add Vietnamese cuisine to their list of culinary destinations coming to St. Joseph in the near future.
Development is currently underway on a new Vietnamese restaurant called Pho and Banh Mi, which will be located at 139 North Belt Highway next to Hy-Vee and Cricket Wireless.
Demolition crews have been on site for two days renovating the interior for indoor remodeling. The goal is to have renovations complete in three months and ready for business after that.
While a menu hasn't been unveiled yet, fans of Vietnamese food will definitely see two of its most beloved dishes in Pho a noodle soup dish typically made with beef or chicken broth, flat rice noodles, and a variety of toppings, in addition to Banh Mi, a sandwich typically made with a crispy, airy baguette filled with savory meats and vegetables.
The restaurant would be one of, it not the first true Vietnamese restaurants to plant its flag in St. Joseph.
The store and building is owned by Joemo Holdings, LLC, under the care of real estate company Rubenstein Real Estate Co. The strip shopping center is now 100% occupied with tenants.

(KRON) – A Vietnamese coffee chain has opened in downtown Hayward. Tram Cream Coffee has opened its first Hayward location. The soft opening for the Hayward location was June 3. The owner of Tram Cream Coffee in Hayward, Khoa Dinh, told that the store has been much busier than expected. Per Tram Cream Coffee's website, the cafe is where Vietnamese tradition meets innovation with bold flavors and unique brewing techniques. Dinh said the tiramisu latte and the matcha latte top sellers for the younger crowd. Other patron favorites are the egg coffee and cream coffee. Dinh said he is looking forward to revitalizing downtown Hayward and has seen an influx of people in the area since the soft opening. The grand opening does not have an exact date; however, the cafe is open. Tram Coffee's address is 1075 B St. The coffee shop is open every day from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tram Cream Coffee also has locations in San Jose, Sacramento and Garden Grove. PORTLAND, Ore. () — Three organizations want to block Portland General Electric's attempt to reverse the city's rejection of its . Forest Park Conservancy, Forest Park Neighborhood Association and Bird Alliance of Oregon announced on Thursday that they had filed a motion to intervene in the utility company's appeal. PGE in late May, about a month after Portland City Council denied its proposal to axe 376 trees from five acres of Forest Park. 'We will continue to stand by our responsibility to protect Forest Park under long-standing policy and to represent the voices of our community.'
