Owaisi Demands ‘Revenge' For Pahalgam Attack, Calls For Continuation Of Operation Sindoor

Taking a swipe at the central government over the attack, Owaisi said that Pahalgam is a successful example of the Modi government's security lapse.
AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi on Wednesday said "revenge" should be taken for the Pahalgam terror attack and that Operation Sindoor should be continued.
Addressing a public meeting organised at Bodhan town in Telangana on Wednesday night to protest against the Waqf (Amendment) Act, he alleged that the Pahalgam terror attack is an example of PM Modi government's security lapse.
He took potshots at Jammu and Kashmir Governor Manoj Sinha over his reported comments that he takes responsibility for the "security failure" of the Pahalgam terror attack.
Sinha is taking responsibility almost three months after the incident. He should quit his post if he was responsible for it, Owaisi said.
Apparently referring to the Centre, the AIMIM president said, "Revenge should be taken for Pahalgam. Continue Operation Sindoor. We will question you until those four terrorists who killed the 26 Indians by asking for their religion are caught and killed".
"Pahalgam is a successful example of the Modi government's security lapse," he said.
Owaisi also said the alleged incidents of demolishing houses, running bulldozers and "snatching away mosques" are not good for the country.
At a time when China is expanding its influence in Bangladesh, he regretted that some in the country talk about things like demolitions and bulldozers.
Owaisi said he wants to tell the BJP leaders that the country faces a threat from China and Pakistan. "You pay attention to those who pose a threat to the country. What are you doing inside the country," he asked? Hitting out at the Modi government over the Waqf law, Owaisi said it is a "black law".

Following the Opposition's question over efficacy of the Modi government's decision to revoke Article 370, Shah said: "The number of terror attacks have gone down from 7,214 during UPA's regime 2004-14 to 2,150 in our 10 years from 2015-25," said Shah adding, "21 organisations with terror links that had been banned by the current government. Female security, CCTV surveillance: How Delhi govt is making night shifts safer for women
The Delhi government has cleared a proposal allowing women to work night shifts in shops and commercial establishments, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced on Tuesday. Delhi CM Rekha Gupta emphasised that robust safeguards will be put in place to ensure the safety and welfare of women working during night hours.(ANI) The move aims at increasing women's participation in the workforce and transforming Delhi into a round-the-clock business hub, she said. Calling it a "historic decision", Gupta said the step marks a significant push towards women's economic empowerment and self-reliance. She also emphasised that robust safeguards will be put in place to ensure the safety and welfare of women working during night hours. "Delhi will now join the list of states like Haryana, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh and Tamil Nadu, where women are permitted to work in night shifts," the chief minister said. "This policy is not just about extending work hours but it is a statement of our intent to create a safer, more inclusive working environment for women in the national capital," Gupta said. Under the proposed framework, employers will be required to obtain written consent from female employees before assigning night shifts, according to a statement. Establishments must provide transport facilities, CCTV surveillance, female security staff and all basic amenities including toilets, restrooms and lockers, it said. Formation of Internal Complaints Committees, as mandated by the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) Act, will also be compulsory, the statement further said. It also mentioned that the decision involves amendments to the Delhi Shops and Establishments Act, 1954, which currently restricts women from working between 9 pm and 7 am in summer and between 8 pm and 8 am in winter. Once cleared by the Lieutenant Governor, the exemptions will formally allow women to work round the clock, it added. As per the statement, to ensure fair treatment of night shift workers, employers must also ensure electronic wage transfers, statutory benefits such as ESI, PF and bonuses, along with weekly offs and overtime pay. "This step will make Delhi a more business-friendly destination while reinforcing our commitment to gender parity at the workplace," the chief minister added.
