Miley Cyrus risks more than a wardrobe malfunction for very daring photoshoot in NYC

Daily Mail24-04-2025
Miley Cyrus turned heads in a stylish look while on set of a risky photo shoot in New York City on Wednesday for the cosmetic brand Maybelline.
The Flowers hitmaker, 32 - whose father Billy Ray recently confirmed his new romance with actress Elizabeth Hurley - put on an edgy display as she shot scenes on a rooftop and scaffolding in the Big Apple.
The daring shoot saw her pose upon tall scaffolding placed against a building.
The Grammy winner wowed wearing a black top which was tucked into the waist of a black leather miniskirt.
Cyrus additionally slipped into a pair of crocodile-embossed, heeled boots and layered the look with an oversized, leather jacket.
The star's locks were parted in the middle, and effortlessly flowed down past her shoulders in light waves.
Miley's photo shoot took her to impressive heights
Miley's makeup was glammed up for the busy day of filming and comprised of a layer of mascara to her lashes as well as a smoky shadow around her eyes.
A warm blush was added to her cheekbones for a radiant glow while a nude-colored tint was worn on her lips for a finishing touch.
The singer opted for minimal accessories to allow the outfit to be the main focal point, and donned a pair of small hooped earrings.
Cyrus is no stranger to Maybelline - and wore makeup from the brand a few months earlier when she attended the 2025 Grammy Awards in February.
The performer added the Super Stay Lumi-Matte Foundation and Instant Age Rewind Concealer to her look for the event. She also opted for blush and mascara from Maybelline.
Makeup artist James Kaliardos told Elle at the time, 'Miley is the brainstorm. We work together to create her makeup look every time.
'I always want Miley to feel like she is in her own skin, I want her to recognize, in the mirror, a version of herself she wants to be.'
The former Disney channel star also opened up about what beauty means to her during a a past interview with to Harper's Bazaar.
'My physical appearance is always an extension of my creativity. I am very literal when it comes to externally representing the "era."'

At one point, the star made a risky move as she stepped onto tall scaffolding and switched into a pair of different black ankle boots
Cyrus continued, 'On my days off I am usually in all black; there is something classic [about it] – you could find a girl from each generation I've admired wearing something similar.
'I like that it's mysterious and doesn't draw too much attention to me. Then, when I am on stage, I use color and fabric to enhance the emotion of the music.'
Miley was seen filming multiple scenes throughout New York City on Wednesday, such as in Queens and Long Island.
At one point, the star made a risky move as she stepped onto tall scaffolding and switched into a pair of different black ankle boots.
She was spotted climbing steps of the scaffolding and paused for a scene as the wind blew through her hair.
Cyrus later made her way onto a rooftop of another building as the afternoon sun shone down on her.
The Wrecking Ball songstress lowered her jacket off her shoulders which draped down towards her elbows as she was surrounded by a camera and crew.
The star is preparing for the release of her upcoming ninth studio album titled Something Beautiful on May 30.

Earlier this month, she dropped the tracks Prelude and Something Beautiful that are also from the LP along with accompanying music videos.
Something Beautiful will contain a total of 13 tracks and follows her 2023 album titled Endless Summer Vacation.
Also on Wednesday, Miley flashed a cheerful smile and greeted fans after she wrapped filming on the Maybelline commercial.
She changed into a halter-styled black dress that clung to her frame and contained a thigh-high slit on the left side.
The star slipped into a pair of sheer black tights as well as closed-toed black heels while strolling down a crowded sidewalk.
It comes just days after her father Billy Ray Cyrus confirmed his shock new romance with Elizabeth Hurley over the past weekend on Easter Sunday.
The pair cozied up together in an Instagram snap as they stood outside next to a wooden fence. The actress held a big grin on her face as the Achy Breaky Heart singer kissed her cheek.
An insider alleged to New Idea after the relationship came to light that Miley was not aware of her father's romance with Elizabeth.

'Of course Miley didn't know,' the source informed the outlet. 'She stays away from her dad as much as possible.
'She won't be happy about this. She's about to launch an album and a movie and this is going to overshadow it all!'
Last month in March, a source told DailyMail.com that Miley is worried her father Billy could ruin her music comeback.
Billy - who is on rocky terms with some of his children including Miley and son Trace, 36 - had recently uploaded a gushing tribute on social media to both the actress as well as his other daughter Noah, 25.
The insider stated, 'Miley doesn't want the family feud drama overshadowing her music career, especially right now as she gears up for a new era.
'It feels like Billy is making this all about him while Miley has made it quite clear she wants to focus on her music and not have their family drama be part of the conversation.'
Miley notably did not include her father in her speech last year when she accepted her first Grammy, which she won for Best Pop Solo Performance for her song Flowers.
In addition to Miley, Noah, and Trace, Billy shares son Braison, 30, and daughter Brandi, 37, with ex-wife Tish Cyrus, 57. He also has a 32-year-old son named Christopher, whom he shares with Kristin Luckey.
The British-born star was previously engaged to Shane Warne but the pair went their separate ways in 2013.
And Billy's most relationship had been with ex-wife Firerose. The former couple said 'I do' in 2023 but their divorce was finalized the following year.
