Kaizer Chiefs: Tanzanian scouting trip reveals new target

Kaizer Chiefs have intensified their hunt for fresh talent, and all signs now point towards Simba SC's dynamic midfielder, Jean Charles Ahoua. The 23-year-old Ivorian has attracted serious attention following a high-profile scouting mission to Tanzania.
Last week, head coach Nasreddine Nabi and Head of Scouting and Recruitment Thembela 'Tera' Maliwa were seen at the KMC Complex in Dar es Salaam. They are attending a Premier League showdown between Simba SC and Singida Black Stars.
Their presence fuelled speculation of upcoming transfers and strategic reinforcements at Naturena.
While many initially believed their trip centred on Simba SC's 26-year-old attacker Denis Kibu, fresh reports now suggest that Ahoua and Feisal Salum top Amakhosi's wish list.
'Chiefs coach Nabi and the club's chief scout Tera were recently in Tanzania. And part of their visit included watching the match between Simba SC and Singida Black Stars. One of the players that Chiefs have been following is Denis (Kibu). And they hoped to see him in action,' a source revealed.
'There might have been other players the Chiefs technical duo were there to watch closely, which includes (Jean)Charles(Ahoua).'
Ahoua's performance in the CAF Confederation Cup has not gone unnoticed. He featured in 13 matches, bagged three goals, and delivered two assists. Which includes a vital strike in the semi-final first leg clash against Stellenbosch FC. His ability to perform on the continental stage adds significant weight to his candidacy for a move to South Africa.
With the club under pressure to rebuild and climb back to dominance, bringing in a player of Ahoua's calibre could signal a new era at Naturena. Known for his attacking flair, energy in midfield, and international experience. The Ivorian might just be the creative force Chiefs have been missing.
Would Jean Charles Ahoua be a good fit at Kaizer Chiefs?

R7 million offer made for Kaizer Chiefs striker target!

Kaizer Chiefs are reportedly already moving to ensure they put to an end their goal scoring woes for next season. Chiefs struggled to score goals with their forwards failing to get over the five-goal mark in the 2024/25 season. Coach Nasreddine Nabi made it no secret that he wanted to bring in a striker, when he arrived at Chiefs. He didn't get his wish in his first window but was able to add two forwards in January. These being Tashreeq Morris and Glody Lilepo. These experienced stars were brought in to supplement a blunt-looking attack which featured Ranga Chivaviro, Ashley du Preez and a young Wandile Duba. While Morris proved to be a flop, Lilepo ended up being the club's joint top goal scorer with young Duba with five. That, however, just highlighted the need for a senior striker to shoulder that goal scoring burden. There have been a number of players mentioned in that regard, with DRC international Fiston Mayele one. The latest striker linked to Chiefs is Mamelodi Sundowns loanee Etiosa Ighodaro according to Soccer-Laduma . Now according to the latest from same publication, Chiefs could be beaten to Ighodaro by a Russian club! 'It's a team from Russia. Yes, they've been monitoring Ighodaro for some time now and it's believed they have eventually made up their mind and they want to sign him. They are happy that he is a big striker who can use both his feet to shoot, can dribble and can also score with his head. That's very rare and that's what they are looking for. That's what they are looking at. Yes, it's a big club. It's called FC Beltika,' said the source. A second source went on to mention that Beltika could trump Chiefs with a salary offer for Ighodaro! 'There is a big offer there. Actually it's a huge offer from Russia. It's around US $400,000 (approximately R7,1 million). That's over R7 million just in salaries. So that means they are really serious about him. That's the offer in salaries only without the signing on fee,' said the source. Chiefs fans, should the club fight for Ighodaro to sign for them ahead of Beltika? Let us know by clicking on the comment tab. Or by emailing info@ or sending a WhatsApp to 060 011 021 1. Full list of players released by Kaizer Chiefs

Kaizer Chiefs have announced the departure of three players in the past few days. Despite claiming the Nedbank Cup, Amakhosi have had a tough season, finishing ninth in the Betway Premiership. With Nasreddine Nabi desperate to change the club's fortunes, Chiefs are offloading players to make room as they look to sign quality players for next season. The players released are Sabelo Radebe, Njabulo Blom and Ranga Chivaviro. Other players such as George Matlou are rumoured to be on their way out while Fiarce Ntwari has attracted interest from other teams. On Wednesday, the club released Chivaviro after two seasons despite the striker showing good form early in the season. 'Kaizer Chiefs will not be extending striker Ranga Chivaviro's contract when it expires at the end of the month. 'The Limpopo-born attacker joined Amakhosi from Marumo Gallants in the 2023/24 season on a two-year deal. He scored nine goals and provided one assist in 45 official matches wearing Chiefs colours over two seasons.' We thank Ranga for his positive contribution to the team and wish him all the best in his future exploits,' the club said in a statement. With only Tashreeq Morris and Ashley Du Preez remaining as the club's main strikers, Kaizer Chiefs will look to boost their attacking options when the transfer window opens. Kaizer Chiefs in negotiations to sign SuperSport United youngster!

Kaizer Chiefs are looking to undergo a squad rebuild ahead of the next season, after a disappointing previous campaign. Although they won the Nedbank Cup, Chiefs still failed to finish the season in the top eight positions. This made it their second time in a row, under a second coach that they failed to qualify for the MTN8. With that, Chiefs are expected to make some big and telling changes to their playing personnel. This in an effort to ensure that they don't find themselves in a similar situation again next season. It is no secret that they are looking to bolster their attack going into next season. But that is just one department, as they are also intent on adding strength and depth to their defence. One position that is reportedly earmarked for that is the left-back berth. As it stands, Chiefs have Bradley Cross, Happy Mashiane, Edmilson Dove and Bongani Sam playing there. Sam did not play a single minute for Chiefs since joining from arch rivals Orlando Pirates last season. He is rumoured to be on his way out. Mashiane has continued to be a bit part player and also could leave. There is also uncertainty over the future of Dove, with his deal up at the end of the month. So with possibly three left-backs on the way out, at least two new ones would be needed. According to journalist Siya Gijana, Chiefs have registered an interest in young SuperSport United left-back Aphiwe Baliti. '𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗲𝗳𝘀 𝗜𝗻 𝗡𝗲𝗴𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗙𝗼𝗿 𝗕𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶 𝗦𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲? SGSR has been informed that Kaizer Chiefs is currently in negotiations for the signature of SuperSport United Left back, 𝗔𝗽𝗵𝗶𝘄𝗲 𝗕𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶.' Gijana wrote on his Facebook page . The 23-year-old Biliti only made his debut for the SuperSport first team last year, but seems to have impressed Chiefs. Amakhosi, would you like to see him at your club?
