Jisoo's Billboard Debut Is Something Of A Letdown

Jisoo's Amortage debuts at No. 11 on Billboard's Top Album Sales chart, marking her first solo U.S. ... More chart entry — but missing the top 10 and the Billboard 200 entirely. Jisoo has been a global superstar for years as a member of Blackpink, one of the most successful girl groups in modern music history. While her bandmates all ventured into solo careers not long ago — and found plenty of success — she was the last to make the leap. When she did, it was with a quiet, understated release, and until now, that solo effort failed to make any real noise in the United States. That changes this week, as Jisoo finally reaches a Billboard chart on her own… but her performance is not quite as strong as some might have hoped.
Jisoo's Amortage opens at No. 11 on the Top Album Sales chart. The Billboard tally ranks the bestselling albums, EPs, and other projects in the U.S. based entirely on pure purchases, meaning digital and physical sales.
According to Luminate, the EP sold just under 7,000 copies in the most recent tracking frame. That figure is enough to put her on the one chart. Amortage does not appear on the Billboard 200, which ranks the most-consumed titles across formats, factoring in not just sales, but also streaming activity. That tally is usually considered the most important for albums in the U.S., and the Blackpink star misses out on earning a spot.
Jisoo released Amortage on February 14, making it something of a Valentine's Day gift to fans. The EP didn't appear on any Billboard chart immediately following its drop. That appears to be largely because it wasn't made available in a physical format until recently. Without CDs or vinyl, an album or EP often struggles to make a commercial impact in America — especially when streaming numbers don't make up the difference.
Amortage narrowly misses the top 10 on the Top Album Sales chart, settling at No. 11. While that's a respectable start for many artists, it doesn't quite stack up compared to the achievements of her bandmates.
Rosé, Jennie, and Lisa have all scored top 10 placements on the same tally with their respective solo projects. In fact, all of them launched their solo efforts inside the top three on the ranking.
The performance of Amortage might be described as underwhelming, especially when viewed next to the solo successes of the other Blackpink members. Rosé's Rosie peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard 200, thanks in large part to her Bruno Mars-assisted single 'Apt,' which remains a hit across a number of Billboard charts to this day.
Lisa and Jennie both launched full-lengths in recent months as well. Alter Ego and Ruby, respectively, debuted and peaked at No. 7 on the Billboard 200.
Jisoo, on the other hand, has yet to crack the Billboard 200 on her own. Whether that's due to a lack of promotion, an absence of a standout hit, or simply lesser interest in her solo work is uncertain, but it could be a combination of any of them, or perhaps all three. Perhaps she'll have better luck with a full-length album in the future.

Toddler Parenting Trends Parents Are Sick Of

Parenting in the age of social media is a unique beast. Between information overload and influencer overwhelm, there's a fervor for particular trends or products that can be A Lot. Recently, Reddit user ActualEmu1251 shared the toddler parenting trends they've HAD it with, and they made some points. Here's what they had to say: ActualEmu1251 also asked other parents what trends they're so done with, and even more points were made: "The 'holiday baskets' for every single holiday like Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day, Easter, July 4…Like, your child does not need a new book and holiday t-shirt and toy every time there is a special day!" "Over-the-top, elaborate birthday parties. No, I am not going to make a balloon arch or rent a bouncy castle or have a snack table with an array of different colored matching desserts and an original cocktail named after my child." "The gift opening at parties drives me nuts! It just makes all the other kids jealous that they can't play with all the stuff at the party." "Sad beige/grey/'pastel' toys and clothes for babies and toddlers because parents want their homes to look cute on social media instead of letting their kids enjoy color." "Not saying 'good job/well done' to kids and instead saying stuff like 'you really worked hard at that'." "I used to think wooden toys were cute and fancy, and now I just think of how dangerous they can be when turned into projectiles." "I hate the whole Montessori toddler thing, like please don't show me a video about how my 3-year-old should have a whole functional miniature kitchen so she can cook eggs by herself. I can just cook her eggs for her. She's 3." "Why do I need to create fake mud with cereal when we have real mud, grass, stones, etc., outside for free?" "Someone telling you, 'you only get 18 summers with them' when every day feels like 12 days and every year feels like a century." "I hate being called 'mama' by anyone but my child. Hate." "I kept trying to get into a toy rotation habit and then realized that I don't care to spend my energy making sure my kid is excited about his toys. Some get naturally kind of hidden or put away for a while, and then he's happy to see them again, but I truly don't care if he's bored with them — he can go find something else to do in that case. I don't need to curate a selection of toys every week." "The mommy wine culture and promoting the idea that there is no other way to relax and that you need to drink excessively to parent your children." "I hate how boy clothes have essentially two vibes as they get older, sad beige baby or sport mode (black and other primary colors). It takes so much effort to dress a boy in bright colors." "The gendered everything! I'm not super hippy dippy or anything, but mine was never into astronauts, monster trucks, dinosaurs, etc., at all, but somehow it seemed like we had no choice but to buy items with these printed on them. And the fact that everything still has to be either bright blue or pink in this day and age. Just annoying." "Feeling like I have to research everything to death to find 'the best'. Last summer I spent WEEKS trying to find a sunscreen that was 'clean', reef-safe, etc. and not horrifically expensive. This summer I bought the Banana Boat 360 because I'm not wrestling my toddler every time we want to go in the sun to spread mineral goo all over his body and then ultimately have to scrub the excess off in the bath that night. I spray him, use a makeup brush to put some Up&Up brand mineral lotion on his face, and we go out. End of story." "Consultants. On any possible topic. Sleep consultant, potty training consultant, weaning consultant, lactation consultant, first bath consultant, you name it! This whole industry feels predatory. They make moms/dads feel incapable of parenting mostly through social media, just to monetize all these services." "I've seen moms on Instagram put makeup on their toddlers (I'm not talking makeup for pageants) like blush, eyelash extensions and tinted gloss." "Exploiting children on social media for likes, attention and/or $$$." Do you agree with being done with these trends? What parenting trends have you absolutely had it with? Taylor Swift Announces Exciting Album Update on Friday

Taylor Swift Announces Exciting Album Update on Friday originally appeared on Athlon Sports. After a relatively quiet start to 2025, Taylor Swift shook things up with a major announcement on Friday. In a heartfelt letter posted to her website—prompted by a recent Instagram post encouraging fans to read it—Swift shared some significant personal news. At the core of the letter was the exciting news that she has regained full ownership of all her masters and music, a long-awaited milestone she has been working toward for years. She purchased her masters for roughly $360 million, according to Billboard. Additionally, Swift revealed a major update about her self-titled debut album, Taylor Swift. She has officially completed the re-recording of the entire album, which will be titled "Taylor Swift (Taylor's Version)," which will likely include all 16 original tracks. 'I've already completely re-recorded my entire debut album, and I really love how it sounds now," Swift said. "Those 2 albums can still have their moments to re-emerge when the time is right, if that would be something you guys would be excited about. But if it happens, it won't be from a place of sadness and longing for what I wish I could have. It will just be a celebration now.' While there's no official release date yet, fans were instantly ecstatic to learn that the 35-year-old has added her signature touch to the debut album that first put her on the map back in 2006. "not her giving debut the soft launch of the century," a fan said. Someone else added, "It will be great to hear her new take on her debut album." Another fan posted, "Taylor is giving us one last storm before peace. And we're so ready!" One morefan commented, "She should drop it on their respective release dates as celebratory editions actually." Swift was spotted in New York City on Thursday night out to dinner in a stunning dress. While fans were already anticipating some news about her music, she unexpectedly dropped a bombshell on Friday — setting social media ablaze for all the right story was originally reported by Athlon Sports on May 30, 2025, where it first appeared.

Miley Cyrus hid cost of drugs from accountant by disguising them as vintage clothing purchases

Miley Cyrus concealed the cost of drugs from her accountant during the making of her 2015 album by disguising them as high-end vintage clothing purchases. The 32-year-old singer and songwriter, whose battles with drink and drugs have been well-documented, made the admission during an appearance on the Every Single Album podcast. Speaking about the period surrounding her experimental album Miley Cyrus and Her Dead Petz, Miley said: 'We called (drug purchases) vintage clothes. And every time (my accountant) saw me, she'd be like, 'Where's that, like, $15,000 original John Lennon T-shirt that you bought?' 'It's like, 'Oh, it's upstairs.' So I bought a lot of vintage clothes that year.' The Grammy-winning artist went on to explain to avoid suspicion, she would tell her accountant the garments were 'really delicate' and needed to be stored away to 'protect' them. She added: 'I'm so glad I survived that time in my life. I would definitely not encourage anyone else to go this hard, but the fact that I got through it, I'm very glad I got to do it.' Miley, who rose to prominence as a Disney Channel star before launching a highly successful music career, has long been candid about her relationship with drugs. In a 2013 interview with Rolling Stone, she said: 'Hollywood is a coke town, but weed is so much better. And molly, too. Those are happy drugs – social drugs. They make you want to be with friends. You're out in the open. You're not in a bathroom.' In 2017, she revealed she had gotten sober after rekindling her relationship with then-partner Liam Hemsworth. She told Billboard magazine: 'I haven't smoked weed in three weeks, which is the longest I've ever (gone without it,) I'm not doing drugs, I'm not drinking, I'm completely clean right now!' But in November 2020, Miley acknowledged that she had relapsed during the COVID-19 pandemic. Speaking publicly at the time, she confirmed the setback but said she had resumed sobriety within two weeks. Miley has also recently been in the headlines over a rumoured rift with her country-rock singer father Billy Ray Cyrus, but other reports have said the two have quietly reconciled.
