Coronation Street's Carl Webster actor has famous TV star wife
Coronation Street viewers were recently introduced to the newest member of the Webster clan, when younger brother Carl (Jonathan Howard) turned up in Weatherfield to surprise his siblings.
He has since caused chaos for Abi Webster (Sally Carman) with his incessant flirting, unbothered by the fact that she is married to his brother, Kevin (Michael Le Vell).
Away from the cobbles, actor Jonathan Howard is happily married – to none other than Tv and Film star Elodie Yung.
Jonathan himself is no stranger to the big screen, having appeared in Thor: The Dark World, World War Z and Godzilla: King of the Monsters.
French-Cambodian actress Elodie got her big break in French TV drama La Vie Devant Nous, before going back to law school. However, at age 29 she moved to London to study acting.

Her first Hollywood role came in the form of hit movie The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, and she has since starred in some major TV series, such as Marvel's Daredevil and The Cleaning Lady.
Her Daredevil character Elektra was skilled in martial arts – something that Elodie herself has a talent for, having achieved a black belt in Karate.
Jonathan revealed that he and Elodie moved from LA to another state for her work, and that they enjoy living there together.
'My wife has been working on a TV show for the last few years in another state in America and we've been based there for the last couple of years. We enjoy our life there.
'My wife is French Cambodian and we never thought we'd be living in the States, but we like it out there. That's our life right now.'
He recently spoke about moving back to the UK to take on the role of Carl, after living in America with Elodie and their daughter.
'I left the north of England 20 years ago, when I was 20. I went to do Dream Team in London then I went to drama school for three years.
'I left drama school and managed to work in America and moved to America and I've been in the States for the last 10 years with my wife and I have a daughter over there.
'The only hard thing is being away from them, but at the same time it's a real gift to be back in the north of England.'
He went on to reveal that Carl wasn't the first Coronation Street role he'd auditioned for, explaining that he'd been in to read for Gary Windass prior to going to drama school.
If he'd got the role, his whole life would have been completely different, he revealed.
'I was in the process of auditioning for drama school at the same time as I had a screen test for a new family, and that was the Windass family. Gary Windass was the character I was auditioning for. Obviously I didn't get it, I lost out to a great actor and he's done amazing things with that character. More Trending
'But in that moment, if I'd been offered Corrie I would have taken it and I wouldn't have taken my place at LAMDA, at drama school, and I wouldn't have done that training.
'So it was very disappointing at the time because, as a northern actor, Corrie is the main staple of an actor's diet. But to not get it meant that I went to drama school. You have to trust the universe and trust that things happen and it's all for the right reason.

'I got a great training at drama school, I left and got a good agent and therefore had opportunities that took me to America, met my wife – can't forget that! I wouldn't have met my wife if I hadn't have gone to drama school, so it worked out for the best.'

Samuel L Jackson reveals horror moment he was dragged by a subway train
Samuel L Jackson has recalled the terrifying moment he was convinced he was going to die after a freak accident on the subway. In a candid new interview, the Pulp Fiction actor opened up about the moment he was 'dragged by a subway train' when he was younger, sharing that he never got the sensation of his life flashing before his eyes. During an appearance on Paloma Faith's Mad Sad Bad podcast, the 76-year-old unpacked his ordeal, declaring: 'That whole thing about your life passing before you, it's like, 'Eh, not really,'. Everything does slow down, though. 'I got dragged by a subway train in New York in 1990. I got dragged by the A train. Fortunately, I was in the middle door of the last car, and it was a long-ass train station. 'When the door closed on my foot, train took off. I'm sitting there thinking, 'Oh, f**k, I'm going to die.' 'I could see the tunnel coming, and I couldn't figure out anything that I could grab or hold on to and get close to the train so I wouldn't get killed in the tunnel. 'It just slowed down really, really slow until all of a sudden the train stopped.' Shedding light on his mindset during that moment, Samuel admitted that he was focused on the incident ruining Christmas for his loved ones – including wife LaTonya Richardson and their daughter, Zoe. 'When I was being dragged, all I could think of was, it was going to be a really sad Christmas, because it was like a few days before Christmas,' the Marvel legend continued. 'So I was going to miss my birthday and all that. I was like, 'Damn, it's going to be f**ked up. It's going to be a f**ked up Christmas this year.'' The Django Unchained star was heavily injured in the accident, and tore his ACL and meniscus – he was in physical therapy for over a year and spent 10 months on crutches. He later took legal action and sued the transit system, and was eventually awarded $540k. More Trending It was only when he got to court for a hearing that he learned what happened that day, and that a man rushed to action and saved his life. 'I was a car-and-a-half from the tunnel when it stopped,' he added to Paloma. 'The guy who pulled the emergency cord was on crutches. 'Everybody else in there was trying to open the door, get my foot out the door, push and push and pull and try and take my shoe off. And he was going to the emergency cord, and he finally pulled it and stopped it. 'Things slow down when you're looking at death. I've been in car accidents and if I see them, it's almost like everything is slowing down and you know there's nothing you can do to get out of the way.' Got a story? Coronation Street legend ‘confirms' Emmerdale crossover role
Jack P Shepherd who has played the iconic character of mischievous David Platt since 2000 has teased he could be taking part in the Corrie and Emmerdale special. The Celebrity Big Brother winner appears to be the first soap star to "confirm" their involvement in the one-hour segment, announced by ITV last month. When catching up with Digital Spy at the British Soap Awards recently, Jack let slip the exciting news on the red carpet. When the actor was asked if he will be involved in the 'unprecedented' episode, which will see characters from both soaps come together in a celebration of the soap genre, he 'confidently' replied: "Yes!" But Jack's Weatherfield co-star Ben Price (David's brother Nick Tilsley), interrupted: "Are you meant to say that?" Jack responded: "I don't know!" Ben then advised his on-screen sibling not to give any details away, to which Jack continued: "I don't know if I am. Not for a fact, I don't. 'The big key hitters, I think they might have been told. There's rumours – and I'm sniffing that I might be in the periphery." He then joked: "With my Yorkshire accent. I think I'm in it, talking Yorkshire and they're like: 'Where are you from? Are you from Bradford?'" Jack's soap tease might be the news some viewers have been wanting for, as one posted on X: "corrie and emmerdale crossover episode. I need david platt & ross barton , charity & tracy , mandy & carla oh the possibilities." The "mash-up" of two of the nation's most beloved soaps is set to air on ITV next year and will be the first of its kind in British soap history. It will mark the broadcaster's new 'power hour' of soap which begins on ITV1 and STV in January 2026. ITV said the producers, scriptwriters and production teams have 'conceived an ingenious way of linking the two universes, but with characters then returning to the soaps they are renowned for inhabiting in Manchester and Yorkshire'.
