2025 Motocross Fox Raceway 250 Quals: Haiden Deegan, Tom Vialle fastest early

NBC Sports24-05-2025
PALA, California: In the first Qualification session for the 250 class, Haiden Deegan (2:18.940) posted a lap that was nearly one second faster than the field.
Tom Vialle (2:19.909) was second on the chart, giving the two reigning 250 divisional champions the top of the board. Both fast laps came at the end of the session as the riders re-familiarized with the curse.
Levi Kitchen (2:20.205) was third on the chart as he looks to extend his momentum from last year's Pro MX title fight. He was injured (broken collarbone) midway through the Monster Energy Supercross season. This is his first SuperMotocross race since then.
Also returning from injury, Ryder DiFrancesco (2:20.719) was fourth on the board.
Ty Masterpool (2:21.077) rounded out the top five.

Ken Roczen set to return for Pro Motocross Unadilla National

Ken Roczen is set to return to SuperMotocross action on the Unadilla National with two rounds remaining in the Pro Motocross season. His last race in the 2025 season came in the Monster Energy Supercross series in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania when he finished sixth in the feature. Following that race, Roczen chose to sit out the final rounds to give his ankle a chance to heal. He struggled with a minor injury throughout most of the season., 'Well, i m gonna come race Unadilla next weekend 😃; F#%* it,' Roczen posted on social media. Roczen made only two starts in the outdoor Pro Motocross series last year, and one of those was at Unadilla in the 450 class. He finished seventh overall. The following week in the series' finale, Roczen finished ninth in the 250 division. Roczen currently sits 12th in the SuperMotocross World Championship Series, which combines points from Supercross and Motocross. Trailing Joey Savatgy by six points, he has a realistic opportunity to move up one position in the seeding. With a best result of fifth in the SMX World Championship last year in the season opener at zMax Dragway in Concord, North Carolina, Roczen swept the top 10 after finishing sixth in Round 2 at Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth, Texas and seventh in the finale at Las Vegas (Nev.) Motor Speedway. One reason to return this weekend is that Unadilla has been kind to Roczen in the past, with overall victories in the 450 class in 2016, 2019, and 2021. New York Giants rookie QB Jaxson Dart baffled by NJ toll options in viral moment

New York Giants rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart was born in Utah and played college football at USC and Ole Miss before he decided to turn pro and enter the NFL Draft this year. For his playing ability, the location of where he was born and where he ended up playing college ball didn't have much of an effect. Dart was a four-star recruit and turned out to be a solid football player for the Trojans and Rebels. Advertisement However, it did mean he lacked the experience of driving on highways with tolls. Utah has very few toll roads and, depending on where a Utah native lives, they may never have to use the express lanes on the interstate. Mississippi doesn't have toll roads. As Dart assimilates into the northeast part of the U.S., especially in New Jersey and New York, he's learned what tolls are and how to navigate the E-ZPass system. A video of Dart driving on the New Jersey Turnpike went viral over the weekend. 'I don't know what this stuff means – these ticket, E-ZPasses,' Dart said as he approached one of the tolls. Advertisement Dart had the option of using the E-ZPass lane or taking a ticket and paying the toll as he got off one of the exits. 'I just drive by it every time,' he admitted. Dart is likely to be backed up on paying his tolls. Luckily, the rookie's contract is worth around $16.9 million, and he'll have enough to pay whatever toll charges hit him. Charles Wenzelberg / New York Post If Dart chooses to live around the East Rutherford area, he shouldn't have many tolls to pay if he stays on the local routes. Dart made his preseason debut on Saturday against the Buffalo Bills. He was 12-of-19 with 154 yards and a touchdown pass. Lachlan Turner sweeps Ironman, continues to dominate Women's Pro Motocross

Lachlan Turner led every lap of the Ironman Nationals' two motos in Crawfordsville, Indiana, and extended her points lead to 24 over Australia's Charli Cannon with two rounds remaining in the 2025 season. 'It's super-sick to show my results finally,' Turner said in the post-race news conference, which begins at about the 15-minute mark of the recorded session. 'I keep putting in the work, the last two months, and it's been paying off especially. Everyone can see it now.' Turner had not been idle during the interim. She swept the three motos of the Loretta Lynn's Amateur National last week for her first divisional title in that prestigious event. The Ironman National was a return to action after a lengthy hiatus from Round 3 of the Pro Motocross season at Thunder Valley in Lakewood, Colorado. That race held significance because the weather on Friday, combined with a desire to prevent the track from being destroyed, prompted the WMX program to be moved to Saturday, which allowed it to be streamed on The ladies produced some of the best racing of the weekend, so television and series executives decided to shake the schedule up in Indiana. The Friday / Saturday format will also be used for the series finale at Budds Creek. The WMX raced Moto 1 on Friday, and the second race came during halftime between the first and second motos of the men's program on Saturday. Even though Turner dominated, the action continued to be intense as Cannon and Mikayla Nielsen kept Turner in sight, preventing her from running away with the points. With four motos remaining in the 2025 WMX Championship, Turner has less than a one-race's worth of points over second-place Cannon, with Nielsen only four points behind in third. Dan Beaver, As for the racing action, Turner jumped to an early lead in Moto 1 with lap times consistently two or more seconds greater than the field in the first six laps of the race. She moderated her pace in the final two laps as Cannon surged, but the die was already cast. Cannon's second-place finish was all the more impressive because she finished Moto 2 with a flat tire that developed early in the race. Cannon did not get a good start in Moto 1, which denied the opportunity to pressure Turner early. She completed Lap 1 in fourth, moved into third for three laps, and then passed Nielsen for second on Lap 5. 'I can't take it away from La-La (Lachlan),' Cannon said. 'She's been riding awesome recently and it really shows. I have a lot more work to do. I feel like mid-year, I struggled with not a lot of bike time and falling into bad habits. So, I need to regroup.' Cannon was also busy during the off-weeks, winning her fourth Australian Women's Motocross title. Nielsen hovered around the top three throughout Moto 1, passing Kyleigh Stallings for second on Lap 2 before being passed by Cannon on Lap 5. Nielsen was destined for the podium until a last-lap mistake in Moto 2 dropped her from third to sixth. Stallings took advantage of Nielsen's last lap trouble to move into third in Moto 2. Coupled with a fourth-place result in Moto 1, she secured the final overall podium position. 'I've struggled this whole season to get my aggression back,' Stallings said. 'I tried to stay close to them, and I was pretty close, so I could capitalize on the mistake that Nielsen made. It was good. I'm really happy about that, but I definitely need to work on my aggression at the beginning of the moto.' Jordan Jarvis finished fourth with results of fifth and fourth in the two motos, and Nielsen dropped to fifth overall with her 3-6.
