Tragedy after mom lost sight of her adorable 18-month-old toddler son in Colorado park
Serenity Maes, the child's mother, has been left heartbroken after her baby's body was discovered by search and rescue crews at around 5pm.
The discovery came after the little boy, Zeldris, was reported missing at 2.53pm by his mother.
Maes said Zeldris's father was working a job in Silvethorne, so the family couldn't check into the motel they were staying in until 3pm.
Instead of waiting in their car, Maes decided to take Zeldris and her three-year-old son, who has autism, to get some fresh air in the park, Fox 31 reported.
When the older son ran off towards a creek, Maes bolted after him.
Maes shared that she heard two little cries from her baby, but when she quickly turned around, Zeldris was nowhere to be seen.
'It happened so quick,' Maes said in a post on Facebook.
She immediately called the police, and a multi-agency search and rescue mission kicked off.
Crews searched the Blue River and surrounding areas for several hours before finding the little boy's body at the area off Willow Way along the Blue River Trail.
The area is just west of Blue River Parkway, about eight miles north of Interstate 70.
Zeldris's grieving mother wants her baby boy to be remembered as a pure, innocent soul who made everyone's day brighter.
Maes said Zeldris was a loving baby who would always give hugs and kisses and was truly her pride and joy.
She is a stay-at-home mom, so the two of them did everything together.
Maes said that what she'll miss the most about Zeldris is him climbing on top of her every morning.
'Im so heartbroken from this s*** and yall seem to say im not a good parent or this and that when I was trying to keep both of my children safe,' she wrote online.

Town of Silverthorne officials said they were 'heartbroken' to find the child's body.
'Our hearts go out to the family who lost a loved one and to emergency responders who were involved in the incident,' they wrote in a prepared statement on social media.
The Summit County Coroner's Office have not yet released the official cause of death.

Family members created a joint GoFundMe page to raise money for funeral expenses. Police arrest Chuck E Cheese mascot for credit card fraud as kids look on
A man wearing a Chuck E Cheese mascot was taken away by police officers in cuffs at one of the restaurant chain's locations in Florida. Jermell Jones, a part-time employee at the restaurant, was entertaining when officers from the Tallahassee Police Department arrived and took him into custody still in his mouse costume. He was charged with three felony offenses tied to the theft and fraudulent use of a customer's credit card. The arrest was captured on video and widely shared on social media. TPD said Jones resisted when approached by officers forcing them to place him in cuffs. Critics have slammed the public nature of the arrest, questioning why police didn't wait until the man was out of costume to avoid traumatizing any kids. One person wrote on Facebook: 'Ok, Tallahassee Police Department, y'all couldn't let this man change out of his Chuck E Cheese costume before arresting him in front of those kids?' Death toll rises after attack on church in east Congo church
The death toll from an attack on a Catholic church in the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo by Islamic State-backed rebels has risen to 34, officials said. The incident took place in the place of worship in Komanda, Ituri province. Advertisement Dieudonne Duranthabo, a civil society coordinator, said: 'The bodies of the victims are still at the scene of the tragedy, and volunteers are preparing how to bury them in a mass grave that we are preparing in a compound of the Catholic church.' At least five other people were killed in an earlier attack on the nearby village of Machongani, where a search is ongoing. 'They took several people into the bush; we do not know their destination or their number,' Lossa Dhekana, a civil society leader in Ituri, told reporters. Both attacks are believed to have been carried out by members of the Allied Democratic Force (ADF) armed with guns and machetes.
