Where to watch The Last of Us: Crave in Canada, HBO and Max in the U.S.Cast: Pedro Pascal, Bella Ramsey, Gabriel Luna, Rutina Wesley, Kaitlyn Dever, Isabela Merced, Young Mazino, Ariela Barer, Tati Gabrielle, Spencer Lord, Danny Ramirez, Catherine O'Hara, Jeffrey WrightNumber of episodes: 7
The episode begins with Abby (Kaitlyn Dever) asleep, dreaming about there being two versions of herself at the Firefly hospital in Salt Lake City. One Abby is trying to stop the other from going into a room where "his brains are on the floor."
Then she wakes up in the lodge outside of Jackson, occupied her team members who are all realizing that Jackson is a fully developed city, armed to take town intruders.
It's clear that Abby is more so operating from revenge versus strategy to kill Joel, as she heads out into the snow alone. But Owen (Spencer Lord) has his own plan to get Abby to abandon her mission, thinking they'll be the ones killed instead of Joel if they don't.
In Jackson, Jesse (Young Mazino) wakes up Ellie for the 8:00 a.m. patrol, where he finds out that Ellie kissed his ex-girlfriend Dina (Isabela Merced). But he doesn't seem too broken up about it.
Meanwhile the council has put the town alert. A pile of dead infected were found frozen, but then 30 alive ones appeared underneath the corpses. Now the problem is they don't know how many infected are hiding underneath the snow. Jesse also points out that people are particularly spooked after Ellie's story about the more cunning infected she came face-to-face with in the last episode.
That prompts Ellie to say that she's going to go on her patrol with Joel instead, while also admitting to Jesse that her relationship with Joel has been "complicated," but nothing's ever going to change the foundation of their relationship.
Meanwhile, Tommy (Gabriel Luna) is talking to everyone in Jackson about what to do to stay safe, with the youngest and oldest members of the community instructed to stay in their homes in the event of an attack, while others will head to rooftops, armed, to protect the community if there's a breach.
As a snowstorm hits the area, Tommy calls for the patrol, Jesse and Ellie, to return to Jackson. Jesse thinks they're too far out to get back, but he know a place to stay during the storm. It's the building Eugene used for his weed farm, knowing Maria (Rutina Wesley) wouldn't approve.
Meanwhile Abby is having a rough time out alone, being attacked by infected that have crawled out from underneath the snow. If you missed those powerful, thrilling scenes of infected attacks from Season 1, this is the moment you've been waiting for.
But who comes to save Abby? Joel, who brings her to where Dina was waiting for him. In order to escape the infected, Abby suggests they go to the lodge where her friends are.
Back in Jackson, Tommy finds out Joel and Dina aren't responding to their communications, and he's starting to panic. And when Ellie and Jesse find out that Dina and Joel haven't checked in, Ellie quickly sets off to try to find them.
It's at this point that the infected have made their way to Jackson, with the community having to spring into action to fight them off.
Travelling to the lodge, Joel, Dina and Abby just seeing flames emerging from Jackson, and while Joel wants to turn back, they're too far away.
When Joel, Dina and Abby arrive at the lodge, Joel tells everyone they're leaving in three minutes to help the people in Jackson, but of course, Abby has another plan.
When Abby reveals that he's Joel, and Dina notices W.L.F. wolf patches on the former Fireflies gear, Dina is sedated into a drug-induced sleep.
Abby finally has her confrontation with Joel, telling him she's giving him one chance to tell the truth about the last place he saw the Fireflies. Abby says if he tells the truth, she'll let Dina live.
Joel says the last place he saw the Fireflies was in Salt Lake, but adds that he saved her life.
"What life?" Abby says in response, shooting him in the leg as he screams in pain. Then she goes on to interrogate him about how many people he killed that day, 18 soldiers and one unarmed doctor he shot in the head, her father.
"The nurses said you barely even looked at him when you pulled the trigger," Abby says. "But I looked at him. I saw him. I was 19."
Abby goes on to say that they were trained not to kill people who can't defend themselves, which is Joel at the moment. But assures him that she will kill him, as she starts crying.
Remember, Abby wanted to kill Joel slowly, and she meant it. She starts hitting him repeatedly with a golf club, then just punching him with her fist.
Ellie does end up finding Joel and Dina in the lodge, but by the time she gets there Joel is covered in blood and can barely move. While Ellie is being restrained, Abby stabs Joel, with a broken golf club sticking out of his neck.
"I'm going to kill you. You're going to die. You're all going to f—king die," Ellie says sobbing.
When Abby and her friends leave, Ellie crawls towards Joel's body, pulling the golf club out of his neck. Crying as she rests her head on his.
The final image of the episode is Jesse, Dina and Ellie riding back to Jackson, dragging Joel's wrapped up body behind them.

'The Pitt' season 2 teaser trailer sees Dr. Robby clock in for another chaotic ER shift
Scrub up! It's nearly time to return to Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Hospital and reunite with your favorite overworked ER staff. Diehard fans already know that "The Pitt" season 2 is set to premiere on HBO Max in January 2026, and now a new teaser trailer is helping to cushion that months-long wait and give viewers an idea of just what we can expect in the new episodes. Released by HBO on Thursday, August 21, the minute-long promo is packed with familiar faces, with Noah Wyle's Dr. Michael 'Robby' Robinavitch leading the realistic examination of the challenges facing healthcare workers in today's America. "The prodigal son returns," quips Nurse Dana Evans (Katherine LaNasa) upon Robby's arrival. Wyle's character is joined by fellow returning physicians including Dr. King (Taylor Dearden), Dr. Mohan (Supriya Ganesh) and, controversially, Dr. Langdon (Patrick Ball) — on his first day back at work after his return from rehab — as well as student docs Dennis Whitaker (Gerran Howell), Trinity Santos (Isa Briones), Victoria Javadi (Shabana Azeez) and a new med student played by Laëtitia Hollard. Season 2 looks to introduce more medical anomalies, legal mess and personal tensions for our Pitt crew. We also briefly meet new series regular Sepideh Moafi ("Black Bird," "Generation Q: The L Word") and her character Dr. Al-Hashimi, a new attending physician in emergency medicine; she joins the season 2 cast alongside Charles Baker, Irene Choi and Lucas Iverson as recurring characters. "[Dr. Al-Hashimi's] gonna be someone who's very progressive in her approach to medicine and believes in the modernization of the medical field," showrunner R. Scott Gemmill recently told Entertainment Weekly. "And Robby's a little bit more old school and there'll be a little bit of, let's just say, tension as they try and figure out how to work together." Gemmill added, "Robby has a very specific way of how he likes to run his emergency department, and Dr. Al-Hashimi has her own specific ways of how she likes to run an emergency department, and they're not necessarily cohesive." The second season of the critically acclaimed series, which has garnered 13 Emmy® nominations thus far, will have a similar structure as its predecessor: Episodes will play out in "real time" over the course of a 15-hour hospital shift. However, season 2 will see a time jump of 10 months after the events of season 1, taking place over the course of the Fourth of July weekend. Get instant access to breaking news, the hottest reviews, great deals and helpful tips. There's fireworks,' Gemmill previously teased to Vulture. 'Somebody doesn't do so well at a hot-dog-eating contest; somebody's sunburned. You can see all the cases wandering in.' THE PITT Season 2 Trailer: Robby Clocks in for a New Shift of Heart-Pounding Trauma on the 4th of July — GeekTyrant
HBO Max has dropped the first trailer for The Pitt Season 2, and it looks like the chaos at Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center is only ramping up. The new season officially arrives in January, bringing Noah Wyle back as Dr. Michael 'Robby' Robinavitch and Patrick Ball as Dr. Frank Langdon. The footage opens with Robby clocking in for another day in the ER, greeted by a nurse's dry jab: 'The prodigal son returns.' Dana (Katherine LaNasa), who spent much of last season contemplating whether to leave the job behind, gives him a look that says more than words. Season 2 sets its drama against a Fourth of July backdrop. It's also the first day back for Dr. Langdon, who returns from an inpatient rehab program after Robby forced him to confront his addiction in Season 1. The cast this season also includes Fiona Dourif, Taylor Dearden, Isa Briones, Gerran Howell, Shabana Azeez, and Sepideh Moafi. Beyond starring, Wyle is also stepping behind the camera to direct an episode. Speaking at the Televerse TV festival, he explained, 'I feel prepped, which is what you want to feel. This has been such an amazing experience for me, all the way down the line.' Wyle previously directed episodes of Leverage: Redemption , The Librarians , and Falling Skies . One of the most compelling aspects of The Pitt has been its ability to stay tethered to real world healthcare challenges, and Season 2 is doubling down on that authenticity. Wyle explained the process: 'Before we even start to write, we're conducting interviews with all sorts of people from every sector and vector of healthcare, and they tell us what they're up against. 'They tell us what they would love to see on TV, and they tell us what would really be counterproductive to what they're trying to do if we put it on TV. We dictate our storylines from there; it starts with people that are in the field and asking them to see what they're seeing and how they're reacting to it.' The showrunners are also contending with the unpredictability of real-world healthcare changes. Wyle added, 'It's a little bit more difficult to see 10 months in the future than it was last year, because events are changing so quickly on the ground right now, you don't really know what the world's gonna look like in 12 months, but there are worst-case scenario models.' Between Robby's reluctant heroics, Langdon's battle with redemption, and the unpredictable grind of the trauma ward , The Pitt Season 2 looks ready to deliver another sharp, relentless run of episodes.
