Gwenno Ephraim was spotted walking alone in the direction of Menai Bridge in north Wales - with the mystery woman on the other side of the road.
The 22-year-old's personal items were found on the crossing the following morning as a search was launched for her by police, HM Coastguard and the RNLI.
Police issued a picture of the female pedestrian with dark hair in the hope she can shed light on what happened.
Cops are asking her, or anybody who recognises her, to contact them.
Chief Inspector Stephen Pawson said: 'CCTV footage of the time Gwenno was walking alone also captures a female pedestrian crossing on the opposite side of the bridge.
'We are continuing to appeal for this individual to come forward and assist with the investigation."
Police also believe drivers of a Silver Audi TT, a black Skoda Octavia, and a grey BMW 116 may have seen Gwenno after the cars were captured on CCTV.
Gwenno was last seen in the upper Bangor area in Gwynedd, North Wales, on July 28 wearing grey joggers, a grey hoodie and black trainers.
North Wales Police believe that she was making her way towards the Menai Suspension Bridge.
Chief Inspector Stephen Pawson said: 'Extensive searches remain underway in the Menai Strait area, and we continue to provide support to Gwenno's family during this extremely difficult time.
'Having analysed CCTV footage, we are confident that Gwenno reached the Menai Suspension Bridge shortly before 11:10pm.
"We're appealing for this individual to come forward and assist with the investigation.
'We're also keen to speak with a cyclist and the drivers of three cars, who were all seen travelling across the bridge at around the same time.'
These vehicles included a Silver Audi TT, a black Skoda Octavia, and a grey BMW 116.
"We are grateful to all who have responded to our prior requests for information, and to those who have assisted in our investigation to date."
The Menai Suspension Bridge connects the island of Anglesey and mainland Wales.
The Grade I listed structure was the world's first iron suspension bridge when it opened almost 200 years ago.
Anyone with information should contact police.

Mali's former prime minister Maiga taken into custody amid corruption probe
Former Malian prime minister Choguel Kokalla Maiga was taken into custody on Tuesday on accusations of corruption, his lawyer said, as the West African country 's military junta has ramped up arrests of top politicians in recent weeks. Maiga's lawyer, Cheick Oumar Konaré, told The Associated Press the former prime minister was taken in for questioning earlier this month by the National Economic and Financial Unit, which is responsible for fighting corruption, as part of an investigation into allegations of misuse of public property. 'Former Prime Minister Choguel Kokalla Maiga has been taken into custody by officers from the brigade of the National Economic and Financial Unit,' Konaré said. 'We are contesting his detention because the former prime minister has no intention of fleeing the country or destroying evidence,' he added. In November 2024, Maïga was dismissed from his role as prime minister, days after he criticized the military regime for postponing elections. Following his dismissal, Maiga continued to criticize the military regime in the media. Earlier this month, another former prime minister, Moussa Mara, was imprisoned after tweeting his support for jailed critics of the ruling military junta. Mali has been ruled by military leaders since a junta seized power in 2020 and staged another coup the following year. In June, the country's leader, Gen. Assimi Goita, was granted an additional five years in power, despite the junta's earlier promises of a return to civilian rule by March 2024. The move followed the military regime's dissolution of political parties in May.
