Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy is about to get its digital release
Bridget Jones's Diary first leapt onto our screens in 2001, with a dashing love triangle and some seriously enormous pants. Since then, we have been utterly charmed by Bridget's quest for love and now, 24 years later, we finally have our happy ending – but is it what we expected?
Mad About the Boy is the fourth and final film in the series and sees Bridget, now a widowed mother of two, coping with grief and learning how to love again. If you haven't managed to see it at the cinema, as of today (27 March) the final flick in the film franchise is available for pre-order.
All the things we love about Bridget are still there – including clumsy falls, blue soup, and Hugh Grant in a sports car. What more could you want?
While the film is set to inspire a night of nostalgia, there are some welcome additions in the shape of heartthrob Leo Woodall, known for his roles in The White Lotus and Netflix's One Day. He takes on the role of Bridget's, somewhat younger, love interest.

How to watch 'Mad About the Boy' in the UK
Mad About the Boy was released in cinemas on 13 February, the Valentine's Day gift we all wanted.
Of course, the film stars Renee Zellweger returning to the titular role as Bridget Jones. Having recently lost her long-time love the dashing Mr Darcy (Colin Firth), the film explores the reality of grief, but also shows that once lost, love and joy can still be found again.
In this new flick, Hugh Grant returns to his iconic role as notorious playboy Daniel Cleaver. After having turned down the third film in 2016, he has since publicly stated that the script for this final film was one of the best he had ever read, convincing him to take up the role once again. Alongside him we have two new faces joining the cast: Leo Woodall and Bafta-winning actor Chiwetel Ejiofor, who will form Bridget's newest love triangle.
You can still catch the movie in many cinemas across the country but you can also now pre-order the film for £19.99, so you can enjoy it all from the comfort of your own sofa. It will be officially out for home premiere on 31 March.

'Bridget Jones's Diary' (2001)
The film that started it all. The very first instalment in the franchise, Bridget Jones's Diary, sees Bridget described as an idiot when it comes to love. Leading her straight to devilish heartbreaker Daniel Cleaver (Grant) and mysterious human rights lawyer Mark Darcy (Firth) who as it turns out, likes her just as she is. It's the one with blue soup, enormous pants and not-so-manly street fights.
Right now you can watch the entire film series for free with a NowTV premium subscription or you can rent or buy the films at both Amazon Prime Video or AppleTV+.
In this sequel, we find Bridget in domestic bliss with Mr Darcey, only for her to inevitably muck it all up within the first 40 minutes and land herself in a Thai prison, naturally.
'Bridget Jones's Baby' (2016)
The third instalment welcomes new addition Jack Qwant, a charming tech CEO played by McDreamy himself Patrick Dempsey of Grey's Anatomy fame. Bridget finds herself in a love triangle and pregnant at 40 and with no clue who the father is. As is expected, chaos ensues.
How to read the Bridget Jones's Diary books
Like most great stories Bridget Jones's Diary was originally a book series written by Helen Fielding (after a successful column in The Independent). The first was published in 1996 and the films stayed pretty close to the plot. The novels detail Bridget's life from a premature spinster at 30, to an unexpected mother at 40, and finally a flailing widow at 50. If you're as obsessed with the series as we are, we suggest you pick up a copy (or four) to soak up every last detail and read them all in order.

Ginny and Georgia fans fume at Netflix as awkward age leap 'ruins' new series
Fan favourite show Ginny and Georgia has returned to Netflix for an all new series which sees more dramatic storylines than ever but not all viewers are happy with the new episodes Ginny and Georgia fans have all said the same thing about brother's age leap in new series. The show has returned to Netflix for its third series, which viewers have waited two years for. Season three picks up just hours on from season two's finale - but not everyone looks the same. Many have pointed out that Ginny's brother Austin has grown up a lot since the last season. Fans have noticed that the actor who plays Austin looks a lot older than nine-years-old which is what he is meant to be in the show. Actor Diesel La Torraca who plays Austin is actually 14-year-old in real life so is five years older than the character he is playing. Many took to social media to point out the ridiculous age gap thanks to the huge break between filming the two series. The show has not aired for two years but has picked up where it left off in season two meaning there should be no age change in the character. Taking to X, one viewer wrote: "I fear ginny and georgia is going to have to recast the little brother because this is deeply unserious." As a second said: " #ginnyandgeorgiaS3 know they wrong for having this 14 year old boy play his 9 year old character. They let too much time pass in between filming and it's p***ing me off." "It's so ridiculous cause austin being so young made georgia's reckless choices hit harder. Now he looks the same age ginny's supposed to be playing and it just doesn't give the same effect," a fan pointed out. As a fourth added: "Netflix should stop taking 2+ years between seasons because wdym these two scenes are supposed to be only a few months apart? #ginnyandgeorgia." Diesel took to his own TikTok page back in May and shared a video of himself which he captioned: "My tryna convince people that Austin is still 9." The Australian-American actor has acted in several roles already despite just being in his teens which include in The Secrets She Keeps, Lambs of God, La Brea and Little Monsters. Actress Antonia Gentry who plays the main character of Ginny commented on how quickly the actor who plays her little brother has grown up. When season 3 filming began in 2024 she shared a side-by-side photo of herself and Diesel after filming season 1 compared with now which showed how much he had grown. He was originally much shorter than the actress and now he towers above her. Ginny and Georgia first arrived on Netflix back in 2021 and quickly became a fan-loves show. It is now in its third series and has got even more dramatic than before. Series two left off with a murder which mum-of-two Georgia is now being accused of, despite it actually being her son who committed the crime.

Released in 2021, The Power of the Dog stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Jesse Plemons, and Kirsten Dunst and is based on the 1967 novel of the same name by Thomas Savage. The film follows wealthy ranching brothers Phil (Cumberbatch) and George Burbank (Plemons) who meet widow Rose (Dunst) and her son Peter (Kodi Smit-McPhee) during a cattle drive. The volatile and brash Phil takes a dislike to Rose, but George strikes up a relationship with her – which eventually leads them to marry – and Rose and Peter to move to the Burbank ranch house. As Phil taunts Rose, he appears to take Peter under his wing, but his intentions don't seem as clear-cut to Rose. For those who didn't catch the award-winning hit, or just want to rewatch, it is now free to stream on BBC iPlayer, as well as Netflix. The Power of the Dog proved an instant hit following its premiere at the 2021 Venice Film Festival, garnering a whopping 12 Oscar nominations and seven Golden Globe nods. It is often cited as one of the best films of 2021, and indeed of the decade as a whole, and was named one of the best films of 2021 by the American Film Institute. It currently holds a 94% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with the critics' consensus reading: 'Brought to life by a stellar ensemble led by Benedict Cumberbatch, The Power of the Dog reaffirms writer-director Jane Campion as one of her generation's finest filmmakers.' Metro critic Tori Brazier dubbed the film a 'taut and emotional epic' in her review, adding: 'A rich and detailed character study for each of its excellent four leads – and especially Cumberbatch and Smit-McPhee, who is an admirable scene partner – The Power of the Dog brings everything you'd expect, and hope for, from the writer and director of The Piano. 'The film is like watching a play, so focused is it on the minutiae of seemingly small human actions and emotions, and so nuanced in its storytelling.'
