TOWIE's Harry Derbidge breaks silence on 'absolutely mental' group chat drama
One of the most explosive The Only Way Is Essex cast rows in the programme's 15-year run is about to hit screens.
The ITV2 reality series makes its comeback on Sunday (August 15) with series 36 as the Essex crew jet off to Portugal for some sunshine and drama.
But there was chaos during the getaway which has been branded as "dramatic".
Amy Childs, Lauren Goodge r, Harry Derbidge, Ella Rae Wise, Dani Imbert, and Elma Pazar turned up to the ITV Reality bash in London last week to give fans a taste of what's coming in the new series.
Harry, who featured in the programme's debut series back in 2010, revealed: "I feel like the Portugal trip is going to be the juiciest part because there's so much that happens.", reports OK!.
"So much happens in our lives in between filming so when we go back to filming them first eps we're all reliving about what happened in the gap.
"It's stemmed from a very juicy group chat which I feel everyone is going to be quite buzzing to know about."
Ella, who recently appeared on Celebrity Big Brother, remarked: "I wasn't even here."
Harry went on: "We had a group chat basically and it's gone absolutely mental, everyone is going crazy in this group and she didn't even know about it because she was in the Big Brother house."
Ella added: "I came out and i was like 'oh, it's all gone wrong'. I've gone in there to boost my career and it's all gone wrong."
Amy revealed: "Me and Lauren [Goodger] were sitting there. I had a little glass of Prosecco and she's like 'this is too much' and I was like 'this is a lot'."
It's still unclear who features in the group chat and what precisely the drama concerns, but the cast assured viewers they won't want to miss the unfolding chaos.
Ella ended things with co-star boyfriend Dan Edgar prior to entering the CBB house, and the blonde beauty has disclosed that their split will feature heavily throughout the series.
She revealed: "There's confusion and potentially a lot of unfinished business but it all unfolds in the new series."

Lauren Goodger 'overwhelmed' as single mum with difficult realisation
As Lauren Goodger gears up for the new series of TOWIE, a source reveals how filming the reality show while taking care of her young daughter on her own is leaving her 'shattered' Lauren Goodger says she's 'rebuilding' herself with the support of her 'TOWIE family' – but a source claims her TV role is taking its toll elsewhere in her life. The reality star, 38, who first appeared on The Only Way Is Essex as the ex-girlfriend of Mark Wright in its first series in 2010, returned to the set as a permanent cast member last year after experiencing some devastating personal losses. But according to our source, while the high-profile gig is doing wonders for Lauren's confidence, the reality of juggling her life as mum to a four-year-old daughter with the demands of a job on a prominent reality show is 'overwhelming' at times. Lauren was 'gutted' to pull out of a planned promotional appearance on This Morning last week because she couldn't arrange childcare for Larose, whose father is builder Charles Drury. Instead, the interview featured fan favourite Harry Derbidge in the studio and fellow TOWIE original Amy Childs via video link. It comes after Katie Price reaches out to Harvey's lookalike half-brother but fears 'he's too scared'. READ MORE: Andy Carroll 'splits from Lou Teasdale due to her demands' weeks after public row 'Lauren was devastated to miss This Morning last week because she's really trying to get back out there with her career,' our source claimed. 'She doesn't think it looks good to miss things, but she also needs to be the best mum to Larose. She really hates letting people down but also doesn't want to feel like she's a bad mum if she leaves her daughter – especially after everything they've been through.' Lauren has been vocal about her struggles with anxiety since her and Charles's second daughter, Lorena, died in July 2022, just a few minutes after her birth. The tragic loss came only a week after Lauren's ex-boyfriend, Jake McLean, died in a car crash on holiday in Turkey at the age of 33. Just before her big TOWIE return last year, Lauren revealed she was 'realising who I am again' after spending the last few years in a 'mum bubble' as she learned to navigate her grief. Larose was born in July 2021 after Lauren became pregnant early into her relationship with Charles, 28, and the pair are widely thought to have had an on-off relationship ever since. Rumours they had reunited circulated when the two were photographed with Larose at an airport last month, reportedly jetting off on a family holiday. Regardless of her relationship status – Lauren has yet to publicly confirm or deny that they are back together – our source said she's struggling to find a healthy balance when solo parenting. 'Lauren is overwhelmed – she's overwhelmed with mum duties and with work,' said the source. 'It's so hard to find that balance of taking care of Larose and also making sure she stays healthy and happy herself. TOWIE is her main job so it has to be a priority, but she'd never put it before being a mum to Larose, so it's a really difficult balance for her to find.' Lauren spoke out earlier this summer before jetting off to Portugal – without Larose – to film for the hit ITV2 programme. She revealed it was the first time she'd left her daughter 'to go away or do anything for me' and had been kept awake most of the night by doubts about going on the trip. The reality star also confessed that she felt 'lonely', but had to stay strong all the time for the sake of her daughter. 'I haven't got anyone to lean on and that's really sad,' she said. The sun-soaked trip to Portugal, where the cast celebrated 15 years of the series, clearly did wonders for Lauren's confidence, however. Sharing a sunset snap of herself with her 945,000 Instagram followers, she wrote, 'What a rollercoaster but an amazing achievement for me personally. Here's to rebuilding me. Thank you @itvxofficial @towie thank you whole of TOWIE production and my TOWIE family.' But it hasn't all been plain sailing for Lauren since visiting Portugal in June, as she revealed to her followers last week that she was feeling 'absolutely shattered'. 'I'm so tired, I don't know how I'm doing it at the minute,' she said. 'It has been absolutely hectic.' Lauren put her exhaustion down to Larose's six-week summer holidays and travelling back and forth to London to film, adding, 'I'm going to do bath, do bedtime and do work again. I haven't stopped working. I wish I could have a nap but never. You know how it is being a mum.'

As The Only Way is Essex turns 15 what made it so sucessfull?
With its cast of glamorous 20-somethings who introduced the world to vajazzles and the Sugar Hut, The Only Way is Essex (Towie) was an instant hit with British viewers when it came to screens in attracted an international fanbase, and even a few A-list followers along the way, the show is about to return for its 36th series, marking its 15th it or hate it, there is no denying that the show thrust Essex into the spotlight. But what made it so successful? 'Confusing concept' TV critic Emma Bullimore says Towie paved the way in the "constructed reality" genre on British television, building on the success of The Hills, a reality show set in Los Angeles that aired its final episode earlier in 2010."It was a confusing concept," she says."These were real people, living real lives and conducting genuine relationships, but the directors of the show would give ideas for 'scenes', or steer the contributors in particular directions to create drama."Bullimore recalls going to the press launch for the first series at a cocktail bar with loud music, a far cry from most premieres held in a theatre or screening room."There was a real buzz and a feeling that this show would change the TV landscape, which indeed it did."She puts its success down to the show's portrayal of Essex stereotypes - full of glitzy outfits, fake tans and big hair - a method which "inspired countless copycat versions set in different parts of the UK" like Made in Chelsea and Geordie Shore. 'Boosted economy' Essex is a large county sharing borders with London, Hertfordshire, Suffolk and fans of the show who are unfamiliar with the area would be forgiven for thinking there is no life outside of towns like Loughton, Buckhurst Hill and, in particular, Brentwood - widely considered as the home of town had been dubbed by the media as England's most boring town back in the 90s, but with venues like the Sugar Hut nightclub playing a pivotal role in the show, it was quickly thrust into the Kendall, a Brentwood borough councillor, said not everyone was a fan of how their local area had been the show's peak, fans from as far as Australia flocked to Brentwood to rub shoulders with their favourite stars, many of whom had opened businesses in the town centre after finding said the show brought thousands of visitors to the town."They stayed in hotels, they shopped, it certainly boosted our local economy," the Lib Dem councillor added. Victoria Cleaves, from Rhode Island in the US, started watching the show with her husband, Taylor, after hearing about it from her cousin who lives in Essex."I got hooked on some of the main characters like Billie and Sam Faiers, Joey Essex and Mark Wright," the 36-year-old says."It was interesting to see their lives and how different they are to my own. It's very different to American life."The term "Essex girl" was dropped from the Oxford Advanced Learner's Dictionary after a lengthy campaign by women who wanted to challenge the Victoria, who is speaking to the BBC while visiting family in Colchester, about 40 miles (64km) away from Brentwood, thinks the show's portrayal of Essex people is spot on."I've seen a lot of women who I thought could be on Towie - they look similar and seem to be acting similar," she said. Elaina Johnson, from Florida, stumbled across the show while scrolling through the American streaming platform Hulu about 10 years ago and was hooked within the first 15 minutes."You think that because we speak the same language, I wouldn't need subtitles, but I do," the 42-year-old jokes."When they would talk in the early seasons about wanting to be a little orange with their tan… in Florida, if you were orange, that's just a faux pas of tanning. That was something I got such a huge kick out of." 'Relatable' Saffron Lempriere, who joined the show in 2018, puts the show's ongoing success down to the storylines it covers."Fifteen years ago, Towie was about breakups, glam, white stilettos, Sugar Hut," she says."It was the nostalgia, but now we have grown, and society has changed, and we talk about very relatable things. We are all real people."Jordan [Brook]'s going through a fertility journey with Sophie [Kasaei] - the show has been amazing at covering that. Junaid [Ahmed] is gay and muslim - the first UK reality TV star to be able to share that. I had a recent loss - we spoke about grief."I think the viewers are so invested in our lives at the minute and the stories." The Only Way is Essex returns on Sunday at 21:00 BST on ITV2 and ITVX. This Morning star, 40, opens up about cancer scare after finding lump
This Morning host Josie Gibson has revealed her frightening ordeal after finding a 'large lump' on her breast. The TV presenter, 40, who rose to fame when she won the 2010 series of Big Brother, previously went under the knife to have 34D breast implants, having been a B cup before. However, Josie grew concerned when one of her breasts actually 'changed shape' due to the lump, which ultimately led to her having her implants removed. Speaking in a new interview, she recalled the 2023 health scare: 'I had a big lump underneath my left boob, and I was getting really worried about it. 'You could actually see it protruding—you could see the breast had changed shape, so I was getting a little bit frightened.' Josie made a GP appointment, and her doctor 'had a feel around', after which he found the issue was actually with her breast implant. 'I went and I had them out, and, for me, it was one of the best things I've done,' Josie declared to The Sun. After having her implants taken out, the star finally has 'peace of mind' and zero regrets. She's now also urging other women to help make breast cancer a less taboo topic, joining forces with charity Breast Cancer Now to raise awareness of the symptoms. 'We only ever talk about breast cancer when something bad happens. Let's make it part of the conversation.' Josie initially had a breast enlargement—and a nipple lift—after losing weight, having gone from a size 20 to a size 8 in the space of a year. Her physical transformation was well documented and highly publicised, as she spoke about adapting to a much stricter diet and hiring a personal trainer. In 2013, Josie also released a workout DVD called Josie Gibson: 30 Second Slim and, in 2014, published her book, The Josie Gibson Diet: Love Food, Get Slim, Stay Slim. Continuing on her healthy lifestyle journey, the following year, Josie launched a sought-after diet plan named Slimmables, which offered members a 14-day detox and progression to an 80/20 diet. However, speaking previously about shedding as much weight as she did, Josie, who was left in tears after cruel responses to her appearance in Big Brother, admitted that she's still never satisfied with her body. She told the Daily Mail last December: 'I've been, you know, over the years, you put so much stress on yourself—like I'm never happy, never happy. 'But now I'm just really busy, but I would like to lose a bit of timber, but I'm happy with myself. And that's the main thing.' 'It's like a home renovation, your body, isn't it? So I always need a little bit of progress. I always need to paint a room.' Josie is certain of one thing, though, and it's that, despite the rise of celebs taking Ozempic, she has no desire to try weight loss drugs or jabs. 'The thing is, I can understand, you know, when people get desperate and they want to do that,' she reasoned. More Trending 'But it wouldn't be for me, only because I don't want to mess around with my body. I like everything natural; I always go down the natural route.' Josie joined ITV's This Morning in 2019, initially as a competition announcer. In 2021, she began hosting the main show regularly, filling in for Holly Willoughby last minute and quickly winning the nation's hearts.
