Nushrratt Bharuccha's work front
Despite being a familiar face in Bollywood, Nushrratt Bharuccha 's journey has been anything but easy. In a recent conversation with Nayandeep Rakshit, the actress opened up about the subtle, often unspoken hierarchy on film sets — and how it affected her, not just in roles or screen time, but in something as basic as access to a decent washroom. She recalled a time when she had to request access to the male lead's vanity van just to use the restroom, simply because hers wasn't up to the mark. In another instance, when the hero wasn't around, so she politely asked his team if she could step in for five minutes. 'That's the reality,' she implied — one she never raised a fuss about, but quietly resolved to outgrow. She further shared an incident from an international shoot where, despite being part of the cast, she was placed in economy while others flew business class. Even when her friends from business invited her to join them mid-flight, she refused. 'This is the seat given to me,' she told them, adding that she would reach a point in her career where production would want to fly her in business. Today, she admits that she flies business class. For Nushrratt, the answer to unfair treatment isn't confrontation — it's growth. 'I'll raise myself to a position where this discrimination won't exist anymore.'Actress Nushrratt Bharuccha began her Bollywood journey with Jai Santoshi Maa in 2006. She gained early recognition with films like Love Sex Aur Dhokha and Pyaar Ka Punchnama. Her career picked up momentum with lead roles in the hit comedies Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2, Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, and Dream Girl. In recent years, she has expanded her repertoire with performances in Chhorii, Janhit Mein Jaari, and Ram Setu.

Nushrratt Bharuccha on if she would have 'done better job' than Ananya Panday in Dream Girl 2
Actor Nushrratt Bharuccha has responded to a question about whether she would have "done a better job" in Dream Girl 2 instead of Ananya Panday and whether the film would have been "better" then. Speaking with Nayandeep Rakshit on his YouTube channel, Nushrratt added that she wouldn't "have an answer" to it. Nushrratt Bharuccha starred in Dream Girl, while Ananya Panday was part of Dream Girl 2. Nushrratt Bharuccha says whether Dream Girl 2 would be better if she was part of it Nushrratt said that there are a lot of films she wishes she could have done. 'You can ask me this question about any film not just the one I was replaced from and I'll not have an answer. Till I actually do it, till I actually do the an actor do I ever think, 'Isne yeh film kiya main isse better karsakti hoon (She has done this film, I can do better)?' I would never say it, even if it's not my own film. I look up to a lot of actors' work and a lot of films I wish I could have done. But that is the greed in me to want to do that part. Would I ever say, 'Main isse better kar sakti hoon (I can do better than her)?' (Shakes her head),' she said. Nushrratt talks about actor's version and director's vision She added that even the thought would make her feel she is doing 'grave injustice'. 'Mere DNA mein nahi hai, hai hi nahi (It's not there in my DNA). I don't know how to bring that thought into my mind and body. I feel like even thinking it, I'd do a grave injustice to the fact that I have chosen to be an actor and be in this profession. Acting is a very personal thing. Every actor brings something absolutely different on screen. You can't say, 'isse better hoga ya worse hoga (it'll be better or worse)'. Woh uska version hai,woh director ka vision hai. Usko woh chahiye woh hai (That's her version, director's vision. He wants it),' she concluded. 'Replaced After 3 Years': Nushrratt Bharuccha On Being Dropped From Film Without Reason
Nushrratt Bharuccha, known for her roles in films like Pyaar Ka Punchnama, Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety and Chhorii, may have delivered box office hits, but her journey in Bollywood has been anything but smooth. Despite starring in a Rs 100 crore film, she continues to grapple with the struggle for recognition in an industry often skewed against outsiders. (News18 Hindi) Bharuccha has spoken openly on several occasions about the discrimination faced by outsiders in the industry. In a recent interview with Youtuber Nayandeep Rakshit, she recalled an incident where she was replaced from a film at the last minute, after being on board for three years. (News18 Hindi) The 40-year-old actress revealed that she wasn't replaced by a star kid, but by an actress who had recently gained popularity. Bharuccha said she felt cheated, especially because she had signed the film when there was no hero, director, or producer attached. 'My situation was a bit different. I was locked. I had signed that film for three years, but it didn't start during that time. Eventually, everything came together. I still have the signed contract lying at home,' she said, choosing not to reveal the film's name. (News18 Hindi) 'Suddenly, the film was on the fast track, they had a good hero, a good director, and everything was set. Then I got a call saying, 'We don't want to do this with you anymore'. I was shocked. I had supported the film when no one else was on board,' she shared. (News18 Hindi) 5/8 Bharuccha added that while she wasn't replaced by a star kid, the actress who replaced her had simply become a 'popular face' at the time. 'I stood by the subject and the film for three years and still got replaced,' she said. (News18 Hindi) She also spoke about gender discrimination in the industry. She mentioned how male actors get a string of hit offers after just one successful film, while actresses don't enjoy the same trajectory. (News18 Hindi)
