Vigilance department finds SRH charges of arm-twisting by HCA to be true
HYDERABAD: A Vigilance and Enforcement department probe has reportedly found the allegations made by the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) management against the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) to be true.
According to sources, the vigilance team has submitted its preliminary findings to the state government, reportedly recommending action against HCA officials.
The state government had ordered the investigation following accusations that HCA officials were attempting to pressure the SRH franchise for additional complimentary tickets during the Indian Premier League (IPL) season.
According to the probe report, SRH was already providing 10% of tickets to HCA free of charge. However, the HCA secretary reportedly demanded an additional 10%, a demand the SRH management refused. The report further states that HCA president A Jagan Mohan Rao also sought 10% of complimentary tickets for personal use, which was similarly denied.
Sources linked to the investigation alleged that following this refusal, the HCA president created operational hurdles for the franchise. Specifically, during a match between SRH and Lucknow Super Giants, HCA staff were reported to have locked VIP galleries, disrupting arrangements made by the SRH management.
Attempts to reach Jagan Mohan Rao for comment were unsuccessful, as his phone remained switched off.

The state government also transferred Hemanth Nimbalkar, the Additional Director General of Police (Intelligence) as heads continued to roll after the Chinnaswamy stadium stampede on Wednesday. Ravi, who will take over as the new intelligence chief, the government said in a notification. The government has been under increasing pressure to take action against those responsible for the stampede outside Chinnaswamy Stadium which claimed 11 lives and left many injured on 4 June. 'At the Cabinet meeting yesterday (5 June), ministers complained (to the CM) that Govindraj was the one who insisted on holding the celebrations and then telling the media that he asked the government not to hold it,' the person cited above said. The BJP and Janata Dal (JD(S) held a joint press conference in Bengaluru Friday where they said that the CM's office was directly responsible for the Chinnaswamy stadium tragedy. H.D. Kumaraswamy, the former CM and Union Minister for Large and Medium Industries, said that the state government was going after efficient police officers instead of holding themselves accountable. 'Both CM and Deputy CM are responsible for the tragedy due to their obsession with power and publicity. Deputy CM D.K. Shivakumar from Kanakapura was busy showing off. He was at court for a case in Kanakapura when he learned the Royal Challengers team was arriving in Bengaluru. To welcome them, the CM and his team had planned a grand reception at the steps of Vidhana Soudha. Learning this, D.K. In February 2017, BJP's B.S. Yediyurappa alleged that Siddaramaiah received a kickback of Rs 150 crore for sanctioning the controversial Rs 1,791 crore steel flyover in Bengaluru. Of this amount, Rs 65 crore was paid to the party high command, Yediyurappa had claimed. It was alleged that Govindraj's diary had initials like RG, SG and others which the BJP said was meant to denote the Congress high command. BJP activists protest in Mysuru over Bengaluru stampede
Mysuru: BJP activists protested near Ramaswamy Circle on Friday, condemning the state govt's stance on suspending the Bengaluru police commissioner. Led by Krishnaraja MLA TS Srivatsa, the activists accused the Congress govt of being responsible for the death of 11 RCB fans in the stampede, a day after RCB won its first IPL title. Chanting slogans naming CM Siddaramaiah as A1, deputy CM DK Shivakumar as A2, and home minister G Parameshwara as A3, the protesters demanded the resignation of Siddaramaiah. Srivatsa, addressing the protesters, said officials were held responsible for the Bengaluru incident and suspended, but questioned why there was no action against officials in the Muda scam in which Siddaramaiah was accused. He claimed the CM was misusing power for his benefit and convenience. The protesters accused the CM and Deputy CM of being directly responsible for the loss of 11 precious lives. They argued that the suspension of police officers was like deflecting someone's mistake onto others. City BJP chief L Nagendra, a former MLA, was also present.
