Danish train was traveling at ‘relatively high speed' when it hit farm truck: Police
The drivers of both the train and the truck were among those critically injured in Friday's crash at a railway crossing in Bjerndrup, southwest Denmark. Police said a 60-year-old woman was killed, while five of the 27 injured remain in critical condition.
The train, which was traveling from Copenhagen to the western town of Sønderborg, hit the truck as it crossed the tracks at a site without a barrier. Authorities said the investigation will determine whether the light and sound signals at the crossing were functioning at the time.
Local media reported that a similar accident occurred in July just three kilometers (two miles) away, when a 24-year-old driver was killed after his car was struck by a train at another crossing.

China accuses vessels of ‘dangerous maneuvers' in South China Sea
China's defense ministry accused Philippine coast guard vessels of 'dangerous maneuvers' in response to reports of Monday's collision between two Chinese vessels near Scarborough Shoal in the disputed South China Sea. The Philippine Coast Guard vessels' actions 'seriously endangered the safety of Chinese vessels and personnel,' ministry spokesperson Jiang Bin said on Friday. 'China reserves the right to take necessary countermeasures,' the spokesperson added. Footage from the Philippine Coast Guard showed a Chinese Coast Guard ship trailing the PCG vessel before a Chinese navy ship suddenly cut across the path of the former, colliding with it and damaging the forecastle of the coast guard vessel.
