Saanvika recalls feeling uncomfortable during kissing scene with Jitendra Kumar in Panchayat: ‘I refused but…'
Revealing if she was nervous about shooting the kissing scene in Panchayat, Saanvika said, "In the beginning, no one said anything when the narration was done. But then, director Akshat talked to me. He said that in this season, we want to have a kissing scene and revealed that they have inserted a scene where Sachiv Ji and Rinki will kiss. Earlier, the scene was different. Both of them are in the car, she falls down, and then they kiss. So I said, give me two days to think whether I am comfortable doing it or not. Then I thought that Panchayat has all kinds of audiences, but mostly family people."
She added, "I was worried about how people would react, and I was also not comfortable. So I refused at that time. But when we were shooting, they removed that scene, but they inserted the tanki scene. They said that we will not show it in a bad way, and shoot it in an aesthetic way. But when we were shooting, it felt awkward. But Jeetu (Jitendra Kumar) is a very nice person. He makes you feel comfortable. Till now, there has been no talk with the family about this. But they understand me a lot, they will deal with it."
Set in the fictional village of Phulera, Panchayat follows the life of an urban engineering graduate, Abhishek Tripathi (played by Jitendra Kumar), who takes up a job as the secretary of a rural panchayat office. The series also stars Neena Gupta, Raghubir Yadav, Faisal Malik, Chandan Roy, Durgesh Kumar, Sunita Rajwar, and Pankaj Jha in key roles.
While the first three seasons were widely appreciated by audiences and critics, the fourth season received a mixed response upon its release. Some viewers praised its nostalgic tone, while others felt the show had lost its comedic charm and simplicity. In fact, the Panchayat season 4 finale has been rated as the weakest ending in the series so far. The show is available to stream on Prime Video.

Uppu Kappurambu review: Keerthy Suresh, Suhas's quirky comedy works despite flaws
Prime Video's latest offering, 'Uppu Kappurambu', revolves around an interesting premise, albeit set in a fictional village. A quirky comedy, the Ani IV Sasi-directed film is a clever social commentary on dignity in death and how people are now easily divided over communal differences. Has 'Uppu Kappurambu' hit the right notes? Let's find out!Chitti Jaya Puram, a fictional village, is full of zany characters who follow age-old practices that reek of ignorance, patriarchy and what not. Apoorva (Keerthy Suresh) becomes the village head following the death of her father, who died on duty. But, Apoorva's father fully prepares her to take on duties and calls it the easiest job day, the village's graveyard caretaker, Chinna, approaches Apoorva with a real problem. The graveyard is now short of space, and she is stuck figuring out a solution. Meanwhile, there are influential people in the village, Bheemayya (Babu Mohan) and Madhubabu (Shatru), who want to bring down Apoorva because they do not want to be under a woman's leadership. How does Apoorva deal with these patriarchs amid a brewing cultural problem that forms the crux of the story? Director Ani IV Sasi's 'Uppu Kappurambu' is a sweet film that is also quite clever in its social commentary. The film highlights many socio-political issues, including misogyny, communal divide, dynasty politics and patriarchy, among others. Like the Telugu film, 'Prince', 'Uppu Kappurambu' is set in a fictional village. All the characters in the village are eccentric and rely on shallow situations to tackle. The initial minutes of the film are a stretch because of Keerthy Suresh's exaggerated expressions. In a quirky comedy, one is expected to overdo expressions. But, Keerthy oversells Apoorva to the extent that you become averse to the film. It is only after Apoorva eases into her village head job that the actor mellows down. That's when the film also picks up momentum and cruises fighting for burial space might sound like too trivial a problem. But, it is a valid concern and Apoorva takes Chinna's help to come up with solutions. Every time they come close to a solution, they face another bizarre conflict. The idiosyncrasies of people might come across as a huge surprise. But, it's not just a problem that Chitti Jaya Puram has to go through. It could happen to any of us living in the city and that's when 'Uppu Kappurambu' hits Chinna is the backbone of 'Uppu Kappurambu'. The way his character propels the story forward works majorly for the film. Keerthy Suresh, as Apoorva, may initially test your patience, but you'll eventually warm up to her character. The film ends on a positive note, a message that is much-needed in today's society. Even if you don't prefer taking away a message, 'Uppu Kappurambu' still has a lot to offer.- Ends3 out of 5 stars for 'Uppu Kappurambu'.

Humour and high stakes, featuring Heads of State's cast Priyanka Chopra Jonas and John Cena
It can be difficult to make political rivalries, espionage, and high global stakes funny, but director Ilya Naishuller's Heads of State manages to strike a balance. And Priyanka Chopra Jonas, who plays an MI6 agent tasked with protecting top politicians in the film, is thrilled at the response that the film has received since it dropped online on Wednesday. Priyanka Chopra Jonas and John Cena The actor — joined by her co-star John Cena — speaks to us in London about shooting the action comedy, playing a strong female character in a male-dominated genre, and the OTT vs theatre debate. Excerpts: What was it about the film's script that got you excited? Did it take some deliberation or was it an instant 'yes'? Priyanka: I loved Ilya's films Hardcore Henry (2015) and Nobody (2021), so it was a no-brainer for me. I read [the script] and it was laugh-out-loud funny. Plus, my character was telling off these big, powerful men, so I had a lot of reasons to do it (laughs). We got to shoot in London and the South of France; filming with John and Idris (Elba, actor) was a lot of fun. John: It was an easy yes. Sometimes, when making decisions, we ask ourselves, 'What can go wrong?' With [this film], I asked myself, 'What's gonna go right?' I'm glad I did, because the enthusiasm was shared by everybody in the movie, both in the front of and behind the camera. That really made for a heck of a movie. There's been ongoing chatter about the OTT space versus theatrical releases in India. Since your film dropped on Prime Video on Wednesday, do you think people will stop going to theatres elsewhere in the world, too? Priyanka: I just think that they are two different mediums of entertainment. I do think that streaming has brought a diversity of talents in front of and behind the camera, especially in the Indian film industry. I think it's an evolving thing; but the communal experience and collective joy of watching something in theatres is never going to go away. John, you're loved as both a wrestler and an actor, and have a huge fan following in India. Are there any plans to work in Indian movies in the future? John: I just haven't got that offer yet. I don't necessarily control my own destiny; the best I can do is react to opportunities that are put my way. What I can tell you matter-of-factly is, I've been aware of the passion for WWE in India for over 20 years now. I would not be where I'm at today without the investment and the passion of the audience in India. I'm very grateful for that. Why should people watch Heads Of State? Priyanka: It's a really fun movie and my favourite genre — it makes you laugh, hold onto your seat, and gets you excited. There's fun jokes, big explosions and just a great experience. I think it's one of those movies which you watch with your family and friends for the collective experience.
