Miss World Opal Suchata plans to visit Ram Mandir

Hans India2 days ago

Hyderabad/Mumbai:Opal Suchata Chuangsri from Thailand, who has been crowned the Miss World 2025, has shared that she plans to visit many temples in India, and the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya is on her list.
After her massive win in the Miss World contest, Opal spoke about the cultural ties between India and Thailand. She said, 'I would love to visit so many temples here in India. I think it's very charming and like I said that we share a lot of cultures and traditions between India and Thailand. So, it would be great to visit and to know those places'.
India and Thailand share a long history of cultural and commercial relations. In Thailand, the 'Ramayana' is known as 'Ramakien'. The Indian epic profoundly influenced Thai literature, art, and royal traditions. The story, while based on the original Indian Ramayana, has been adapted into a distinctive Thai version with its own interpretations and cultural nuances. Lord Hanuman is given a more prominent role in the Thai version and is sometimes portrayed with a more playful character.
Opal also shared her message for the women of Telangana, the state where the Miss World 2025 grand finale was held. She said, 'I would say that first meeting all of the women here in Telangana, India. You all have really inspired me on this journey with all your strength and resilience and the beauty from within all of you. And all the support and caring that I have received from all of the women here in India. And I think that they are very strong and very capable of all the things they wanted to do in life'.
Opal has been crowned Miss World 2025 in a star-studded grand finale ceremony which was held in Hyderabad on Saturday. She edged out Hasset Dereje Admassu of Ethiopia in the grand finale as the latter emerged as the runner-up. For the ceremony, Opal donned a white gown adorned with opal-like florals.

Horror As 54-Year-Old British Woman Found Dead On Beach In Thailand

A 54-year-old British woman was found dead on a beach in Koh Phangan, Thailand, a popular island known for its Full Moon Party. According to Thai police, her body washed ashore on Tuesday morning with no signs of assault, the Independent reported. An investigation revealed she had been staying in a nearby bungalow for about a month. Authorities are looking into the circumstances surrounding her death. The tourist was found face-down on the beach, wearing only an orange bra, with her underwear washed ashore nearby. Mr. Theerapong, who discovered the body during his morning exercise walk, immediately alerted the police. She was taken to Koh Phangan Hospital for a post-mortem examination. Police Lieutenant Pongnaphat Somboon of the Koh Phangan Police Station stated: "An X-ray of the victim's body found a large amount of sand and water in her lungs. We believe the cause of death was drowning. We will call the British Embassy to notify her relatives. We do not believe there is anything suspicious, but CCTV images will be checked to ensure that the death was accidental." As per reports, she planned to check out of her accommodation on June 11, the day after the Full Moon Party on Ko Phangan. Staff reported that she often consumed alcohol, and she had injured her head after falling outside a supermarket on June 2. Officers inspected her room and found her passport and belongings still there. The Full Moon Party, which began in 1985 on Ko Phangan, takes place monthly on Haad Rin Beach, on or around the full moon. This year's event is set for June 10. Notably, tourist destinations in Thailand like Phuket, Pattaya, and Krabi are seeing an increase in deaths due to strong rip currents, lack of swimming skills, and disregard for safety warnings. Visitors are advised to exercise caution, heed safety signs, and assess their swimming abilities before entering the water to minimise risks.
