(Video) Korean Actress Yoon Eun-Hye Recreates Her Iconic 'Princess Hours' Character After 20 Years
Longtime K-drama fans would be familiar with 'Princess Hours', a.k.a 'Goong (궁)'. The 2006 drama is considered one of South Korea's most iconic dramas and is still loved by many. Recently, the drama's lead actress, Yoon Eun-hye (윤은혜), revisited her iconic character, prompting many shocked reactions.
Yoon Eun-Hye recently shared a video on her YouTube channel where she recreated her look from 'Princess Hours'. In the drama, the actress played the lead role, a feisty teen named Shin Chae Kyung, who ends up engaged to Korea's crown prince. The character was extremely popular amongst the public and started a few trends, including wearing training pants underneath school uniform skirts.
It has been nearly 20 years since the drama was released, so many were curious to see how much 'Shin Chae Kyung' has changed. As it turns out, not much has changed because Yoon Eun-Hye looked almost identical to how she did when the drama came out. In addition to wearing the same outfit, the 40-year-old styled her hair to mimic her character and used props to complete the look.
Yoon Eun-Hye also shared photos of her recreated look on her Instagram account. Many fans were baffled at how the star didn't seem to age since 'Princess Hours' was first released. Others quipped that she can still play the role despite being almost 20 years older. Some also suggested she recreate another one of her iconic characters – Go Eun Chan from the hit 2007 K-drama, 'Coffee Prince (커피프린스 1호점)'.
Surprisingly, Yoon Eun-Hye wasn't the only Korean star who recently recreated their decades-old iconic look. Last week, T-ARA (티아라) member Ham Eun-Jung (함은정) shared a video on her YouTube channel where she recreated her signature bob during T-ARA's 'Bo Beep Bo Beep' promotions in 2009. Despite the 16-year difference, the idol-turned-actress looked the same as she used to.
Yoon Eun-Hye and Ham Eun-Jung are proof that some celebrities never age! While we wait for the next Korean star to recreate their iconic looks from years ago, check out Yoon Eun-Hye and Ham Eun-Jung's videos below:

Japan's 400,000-follower ‘Insta-gran' dies aged 97
Kimiko Nishimoto, who died this week at the age of 97, told AFP in a 2018 interview that 'you can take photos no matter how old you get'. TOKYO: A Japanese great-grandmother with 400,000 Instagram followers who shot to fame for her goofy self-portraits after taking up photography aged 72 has died, her son said on Thursday. Kimiko Nishimoto, who died this week at the age of 97, told AFP in a 2018 interview that 'you can take photos no matter how old you get'. 'Wherever it is, in your house, outside, or in your bed, you can do it. That is the nice thing about a camera,' she said. Dubbed the 'selfie queen' by Japanese media, Nishimoto's posts showed her in various candid poses -- from riding a broom like Harry Potter to imitating an off-duty sumo wrestler on their fifth beer of the night. 'Our mother always created her work with a smile,' a post from her son Kazutami Nishimoto said on her Instagram account. 'We are deeply grateful to everyone who visited her photography exhibitions held across the country, to those who shared warm words of encouragement through Instagram... and to all who supported her warmly throughout her journey.' Nishimoto's son teaches photography classes, which his mother started taking in retirement. 'Though she began photography at the age of 72, she was blessed with countless encounters, which enriched this third chapter of her life tremendously,' he said. Nishimoto appeared on national television as her online following grew and was interviewed by major news outlets. But her more out-there visual scenarios were also the cause of some confusion over the years. One snap -- showing her wrapped in a garbage bag, as if she had been discarded -- drew criticism from people who didn't know she was involved in its set-up. 'It's not like ideas just suddenly pop into my head but wherever I go I think about what it would be fun to dress up as in that place,' she said in 2018.

Sabrina Carpenter Unveils 'Man's Best Friend' Album Cover; Slammed Over Degrading Image
Last year, US singer Sabrina Carpenter dominated the charts with her hit 'Espresso', widely regarded as the song of the summer. The single, along with her album 'Short n' Sweet', also earned her first Grammy awards in the Best Pop Vocal Album and Best Pop Solo Performance categories. Following the release of her latest single, 'Manchild', which is rumoured to be inspired by her breakup with Irish actor and former boyfriend Barry Keoghan, the artist has officially revealed the artwork and title of her upcoming album, 'Man's Best Friend'. However, the response to the album cover may not have been what she was hoping for. Here's why: Earlier this morning (Thursday, 12th June), Sabrina Carpenter unveiled the official artworks for her seventh studio album, 'Man's Best Friend', which is set to be released on 29th August. The first image shows her in a black dress, kneeling on all fours, with her hair being pulled by a man, posing as though she were his pet. The other photo shows a dog wearing a light blue coloured collar that had the album title on it. Although comments on Instagram have been mostly positive as fans expressed excitement for new music, those on Twitter, however, had different opinions about the album cover. As seen in the screenshots below, many described the artwork as off-putting, criticising it for portraying her, or women in general, as subservient to men, likening the imagery to that of a pet dog. Others accused the singer of objectifying herself for the 'male gaze'. Some fans defended the former Disney star, arguing that the image and album title were intended as irony and satire, highlighting how women are often sexualised and objectified by men. However, while others recognised the underlying message, they felt that the imagery and title might not have been the most effective artistic choices to convey her point. At the time of writing, Sabrina Carpenter has yet to respond to the criticism surrounding her album artwork. Perhaps once the record is released, audiences will have a clearer understanding of the intention behind the imagery she chose. What are your thoughts on the artwork?
