Are you runway ready? Durban Fashion Fair launches model search
The model-casting will commence on Saturday, June 7, at Durban Botanic Garden and end on June 20, at The Pavilion Shopping Centre. Gugu Sisilana, eThekwini Municipality's spokesperson, said the search is open to models from all eThekwini regions, who are between the ages of 18 and 35 years.

'The municipality under the banner of the DFF, is calling all aspiring models looking to professionally venture into the modelling industry not to miss this opportunity. We are looking for female, male and fuller-figure female models,' Sisilana said.
She said finalists will undergo two months of training on various modelling aspects to prepare them to strut the runway at this year's annual DFF showcase and make their grand entrance into the industry.
Sisilana encourages models who meet the requirements to participate in the regional model search roadshows planned for their nearest areas. 'Compulsory documents to bring on site for castings include a copy of your ID to verify your age and proof of residence,' she advised.
Female models:
• Minimum height – 1.75m with no heels.
• 87cm – 9cm hip measurement.
• Must wear body-fitting clothing and bring heels to the casting – jeans not allowed
• Advised to wear minimal make-up.
Male models:
• Minimum height – 1.84m.
• Trouser size 30 to 32.
• Must wear fitted T-shirt or shirt and closed shoes or trainers to the casting.
• Must be in good physical shape
Fuller-figure female models:
• Minimum height – 1.75m without heels
• 38 to 42 trouser-size measurement
• Must wear body-fitting clothing and bring heels to the casting – jeans are not allowed
• Advised to wear minimal make-up
Full schedule of the DFF Regional Model search roadshows is as follows. They all commence at 09:00.

One user asked her if she saw the comments on the official TikTok account of the soapie in which the actress replied: 'Yes chomi, I did, but I'm not bothered.' Another user commented that they wish her all the best and that she should not listen to the internet trolls. McGowan replied: 'Thank you so much. I really do appreciate it. I promise I could never fold, I'm way too strong for the trolls.' This is not the first time that 'Generations: The Legacy' faced backlash for its actors, with fans claiming that some of them cannot act.

Wandi Ndlovu, a reality TV star, and her mother and sister have been arrested after a violent altercation that led to her uncle's death in Katlehong. Reality TV star Wandi Ndlovu is set to appear in court this week after an incident involving her uncle's stabbing in Katlehong, Ekurhuleni, along with other family members. The self-described sugar baby and personality on Showmax's controversial show This Body Works for Me is drawing public attention with the case. The 26-year-old, her mother, and her sister, Ntombifuthi Ndlovu, are being held behind bars following an alleged violent family altercation in Katlehong. This altercation left her uncle, Linda Ndlovu, dead. The trio is expected to make a court appearance tomorrow at Palm Ridge Court as investigations continue. It was allegedly sparked by a noise complaint from Wandi's mother. He was reportedly playing loud music when his sister (Wandi's mom) went to ask him to lower the volume. An argument broke out, and Linda allegedly struck his sister on the head with a golf club. Bleeding and injured, she returned to the main house. That's allegedly when Wandi, her sister Ntombifuthi, and another sister, who is currently in Grade 11 allegedly went to confront their uncle. 'One of them stabbed the uncle during the confrontation,' said a family insider. When paramedics arrived, it was too late to take him to the hospital. The Grade 11 sibling, who is a minor, has since been released from custody. This is especially after a voice recording surfaced online, allegedly of Wandi's aunt (her mother's sister), who was an eyewitness to the entire incident. The late uncle Linda is believed to have been the breadwinner. Wandi relocated and is mostly based in Nigeria and claimed she got married. He was living in the back room and was said to be providing financial support to some members of the family. The house was reportedly newly built by Wandi after her return from Nigeria. She was working as an adult entertainer and had recently BBL surgery and other changes. While South Africans await official police comment, many have taken to social media. They express anger, disbelief, and sorrow over the killing.

Additionally, the launch has been pushed back to August 23, with American singer Donell Jones now joining the line-up.
